Best shower speaker I've found so far
I've always been a shower singer and about 10 years ago I got my first shower speaker to go along with that habit. I've had a lot of these speakers in the past, since many of the ones I've gotten don't last a full year. This BassPal speaker is hands-down the best one I've ever used. The sound quality is fantastic. I'd put it on par with my JBL bluetooth speaker that isn't waterproof. The bass isn't going to rattle your house apart, but even at the louder volumes needed to compete with the sound of the shower, the overall quality of the music is great. It's nice and deep, without getting that rattle that a lot of cheaper heavy-bass speakers will get. The sound is top-notch, but there are other features that also make this speaker a great choice. I love the screen on the speaker. It shows battery level, a clock, and the current mode the speaker is set to (for transparency, I only ever use the bluetooth, I didn't even take the radio antenna out of the box). Just knowing that my speaker isn't going to die on me in the middle of a shower is huge for me - I hate it when my tunes get cut out because I didn't think to charge the little guy. I do also appreciate that the speaker comes with a big ol' suction cup on the back AND a rope with a loop on the top. Most other speakers I've gotten only have one or the other, but it's perfect having them both because I can use the suction cup to place the speaker exactly where I want it, but I can use the rope to secure it to the shower head for when the suction cup inevitably loses its suction (this happens probably once a week). I've had other speakers that only have the suction cup and they all fall eventually. I've also had speakers that only have the rope and I can never position those right as they end up just hanging free from the point where the showerhead attaches to the wall and spinning whichever way it feels like in that particular moment. I did have one major problem with the speaker that I purchased. After about 3 months of use, the speaker died on me. It would display a red light when I tried to turn it on, but never do anything beyond that. Fortunately, BassPal was very helpful when I reached out. They asked that I send them a video of the speaker not working, but then sent a replacement right away as soon as I got the video to them. I was very happy with how easy of an interaction that was. This is the best shower speaker I have found. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who likes having some tunes while they get clean! Pros: -Great sound -Screen shows battery level as well as clock and mode (easy to read) -Buttons are nice and chunky so you can feel when they click -Holds a charge for weeks -Excellent customer support when replacement was needed Cons: -My first one died on me -No distinct buttons for volume/tracks

Review after five years of use
TLDR: Fantastic speaker for shower or a single room. - I don't write reviews. However, this speaker is great. I have had it for five years and the battery and bass are starting to fail so I figured I would write a review. - PROS: Great bass. For such a small speaker it has surprising amount of range. Easy to use for music. Setting up was easy and it automatically reconnects to the last device on startup. Good battery. For the first few years, using it around half an hour to an hour a day, it would take about two weeks to need a charge. - CONS: Unintuitive interface. They could have just added one or two more buttons, but every button has two to three functions, which is confusing. Since it is so easy to use, you rarely have to interface with it, so you've definitely forgotten the next time you have to set the clock. Second con, the clock is fast. It will gain around five minutes a month. Not a big deal if you don't use it for telling the time but in the shower there is rarely a clock, so you have set the time a few times a year. - For the price, this speaker is great. I paid around $5 a year for this speaker. And it still works but at reduced capacity. I have to charge it after only a couple of hours of use. So not really good for picnics or a long time spent in a room without a stereo. Also, the fidelity of sound is going down. My Sony 90mm now deliver a LOT more bass than this speaker. So it's losing the lows. But after five years, it's probably time to get a new one anyway.

Not Bad.
Okay, first off, If you're looking for FM, look elsewhere. I fiddled with this thing for about an hour, I am university educated but despite this I think I have common sense and have a background in electronics and technology. I could not get this thing to stop on a channel or save it to a preset. It could be okay though; if your Bluetooth device has an FM capability, then you can use it and just use the speaker to pump the sound. Using it like this, it works perfectly- and you can use the clock too. As an aside, my music player has FM but it requires wired headphones for the antenna. When used like this, the sound still goes through the speaker which is nice but I also used the supplied speaker's antenna in my music player, and it picked up all my presets on my music device! Sweet! The sound is great. I set the bluetooth's speaker volume on maximum, 30, and then used my music device to adjust the volume. This way I have volume control away from the speaker. Now if you wanted to toggle the volume through the speaker, you can do that as well. You can also toggle the music device's songs forward and backward by long pressing the volume buttons. You can toggle through various light schemes too but I just turned them off to save battery life. When the unit is charging, the light is red and I assume it will either turn green or simply go off when it is charged. What could make this thing better? One, a flat bottom! When you unscrew the suction cup, the base of the speaker is conical. If it was flat or had feet you could set this on a table or something. Some rubber feet over the four assembly screw holes might make this issue non existent. The good news about the suction cup screw and the accompanying hole, it is a standard 1/4*20! Thank you for that. If you don't know, that's a standard thread for things like camera bases , tripods, and GoPro junk. Also, the buttons have a lot of designs on most of them but you can only press the centre of the buttons for the functions. You toggle the functions by long pressing. This is not a big deal but you can barely make out the function designs on the buttons. I may try to fix this with a wipe of some white or yellow acrylic paint and then wipe the button's high spots off. if I do this, I will take some pictures to show my results. Finally, I think this thing will be okay. It pairs easily, it has great sound, it feels really well built and rugged, and it was cheap. If it conks out like I think it will, I may attempt a battery replacement/ upgrade because at this price point, the battery will probably be the weak link.

Great Speaker
I love it, it has a clock on it and it is a am/fm radio and also has Bluetooth accessible! It is extremely loud speaker whether in the shower or bathroom. You will not regret purchasing this speaker, I promise you will love it! Also it stay charged for an extremely long time!

Awesome little speaker with great volume
This is the second shower speaker that I had of this. The first one lasted for a few years, but the suction on it was not very good, so it kept falling off the wall, and eventually ended up breaking. I liked how well it worked, the speaker is great, and I love that it has the "background" colors while it is playing. It lets you listen to music in different ways, it comes with an antenna that you can hook up to am/fm or you can connect to bluetooth so you can listen to whatever your vice is. It is a great size so it makes it easy to move from one area to another, you don't have to listen to it in the shower, you can take it anywhere and listen to anything that you want wherever you want to.

Laughably bad
I find it incredibly suspicious that there are so many positive reviews of this speaker. And here's why: not the battery life (reasonable), or the water-proofing (seems to be perfect), or even the sound quality (impressive for an inexpensive BT speaker). It is the battery-saving "feature" (read "bug") that makes it impossible to enjoy any audiobook at all, and even some music. Here's how it works: in order to save battery (I assume), when there is a lapse in sound, the speaker pauses itself and displays "PAUS". So far, so good. The problem is that it does this after there is a lapse in sound that is a little less than a second. Then, instead of cranking the sound back up to full volume immediately, it slowly raises the volume over about another second. Here's why this sucks: every audiobook I've listened to on it is impossible to understand because the narrator has to breathe (like many humans do). And human breaths take pretty close to a second. Every time a narrator takes a breath, the speaker pauses itself. Then, when the narrator begins speaking again, the speaker slowly brings the volume up from zero. The end result is that I can't hear the first 2 or 3 words of the next sentence. Imagine trying to listen to someone, but the first few words of every single one of their sentences is inaudible. That's what listening to this speaker is like. It does produce some hilarious results, however, like in the video I took. See if you can recognize the song (it's by Green Day). To conclude, I'm going to have to return this absolutely ridiculous product and go back to scratching my head, wondering how so many people rated this speaker so highly...

Suprisingly loud!
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to a speaker in my bathroom that I could actually manipulate in the shower, as it can be frustrating trying to skip songs through Ok Google (seriously, yelling Okay Google in the morning in an apartment with roommates probably has them wondering if I'm okay), so this speaker ticked all the boxes; affordable, water resistant, and a decent interface for manipulating music. I'll break this review down into a few parts Audio Quality: 7/10 ----------------------- I'm a bit of an audio nut. Maybe too much so. I listen to music constantly whenever I have the chance and am listening to music as I type this out. I have invested way too much money into different audio gear. That said, I'd like to say that I have a pretty good ear for good quality audio. For the price of this speaker, it puts out pretty well. With a name like BassPal, you're obviously going to expect some more bass-y equalization in this speaker. It is true that this speaker tends to lean a bit heavy on bass, but it's not ONLY bass. It has some great mids and decent highs; it's more well rounded of a sound than you might think. Overall, the audio quality is decent, and it gets pretty stinkin' loud. Build Quality: 8/10 ---------------------- I'm gonna be honest. I've already dropped this thing hard 3 times. I stuck it on without any water thinking that it would stick perfectly (which it definitely does..for a little while) and it came crashing down so hard that I thought someone had broken into my apartment. Nope, just me being dumb. It doesn't have a single dent on it and still works perfectly fine. After suctioning it with some water, it has stayed put perfectly ever since. It is made out of plastic, but that is most likely preferable when you're creating someone that has to be water resistant. Overall: 9/10 ---------------- This things a great budget buy. I just can't recommend getting anything more expensive for something that is going to sit in your shower for 10 minutes to play music (unless you take baths, in which case you don't get a say in this. Come on, who takes baths?! Sitting in your own filth. Euck.) It does the job well and has not failed me in any way shape or form. My only complaint is that the buttons are little hard to press when wet and it defaults to 20 sound which is a bit quiet. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend getting this speaker.

UPDATED: Disappointed
UPDATED REVIEW 11/22/25: The battery life started to deteriorate about 6 months ago, so after about 1 year of use. Originally, it would last several days on a single charge but then started to only last a few hours and now it's down to about 12 minutes. I have to leave it plugged in all the time and only unplug it to get in the shower. It says it's fully charged but drops to nothing and shuts off in that 12+/1 range. It's also started to have a delayed reaction to playing when I use my phone to control it, which is very annoying. I am now trying to find a replacement but I haven't found one with all of the feature this one has. If the battery issue was fixed, I would definitely by it again but I don't see that the issue has been fixed since my original purchase, based on the reviews. ORIGINAL REVIEW 7/7/24 (4 stars): This was a great buy. I should have bought one earlier as it would have made it a lot easier to listen to podcasts or music in the shower. I like how it has a lanyard and a suction so if the suction fails (and it will eventually), it doesn't fall to the floor. The sound quality is good and it remembers the volume level instead of shooting up to full volume when you turn it on. You can easily pause, play, back up, and skip ahead from the device. The only things I don't care for are: 1) it sometimes doesn't remember the time and will reset at 00:xx instead of 4:xx for example 2) it uses 00 for 12 but not because it's using military time because even 12pm is 00pm; and 3) when it starts beeping to tell you the battery is getting low, you have just a few minutes to plug it in. My other devices would beep for awhile so if it starts beeping in the shower, you can finish and get out and still have plenty of time but not this one, it will shut off so watch the battery level and charge it before it gets to the lowest. Regardless, I would buy again. It was a great purchase.

Excelente
Funciona perfectamente. Actualización: En año y medio la batería ya no dura nada, hay que cargarlo después de una hora prendido cuando antes duraba muchísimo más. Esta caro para lo que dura, no lo recomiendo.
