Amped A8EX High Power Outdoor 8dBi Omni-Directional Wi-Fi Antenna Kit

This has to boost a signal from about 150ft clear line of sight away. I bought the range extender to go with it and I am currently using my old router. Once or twice a day the signal drops away and I have to unplug the extender for about 15 seconds but then it works again. Prior to this I had used an other brand of range extender and that one had to be reset several times per day. I probably will end up getting the router that matches this with another external antenna and will update with those results if I do. This would have gotten 5 stars if I did not have to reset the system daily. I don't believe that should be necessary as the distance is clear line of sight to the router and considerably less than a mile, but it is definitely better than what I had.

Needed to get another router to make it work. A lot more trouble to hook up than what was promised. Finally got it to work but it took several trips to the store and the signal does not travel all that far

Small benefit to my repeaters strength but was hoping for more. For the price the signal gain wasnt worth it. Returned easily.

I purchased the omni and the directional antennas and together they work good, im not so sure about the 1 to 1.5 miles like stated on amped wireless website. I have mine set up about 800 to 900 feet apart and i'm getting a signal strength of 62%, I'm using a Asus N-16 router with dd-wrt firmware on both ends. The one thing I found is that with these antennas I had to turn the transmit power down on the routers to get a good steady signal strength.

I have bought a total of 8 products from these guys. It is amazing when i call there support line the only thing they ever say is, "sir something is wrong with the product because you bought it from Amazon. Please return it to amazon." The last person i spoke with from amped wireless explained that because i bought it from amazon there will be no support. The product came in a new box still wrap in plastic and no damage to the external box at all. Nevertheless, they will not offer any support from product from amazon. My problem is when i bought my 8 product that all together cost me $2100.00 i throw away the original boxes. Stupid i know, but i was under the impression that the at least some of the products would work correctly. I urge anyone thinking about buying any of this company product to not waste your money. I wish i did not have to give this piece of s*** one star It do not even deserve that.

This antenna has allowed me to extend a wireless network several hundred yards farther than it would reach before. I have it paired with one of Amped Wireless's high powered routers to get internet out to campers a long way from the main office of a campground.
