In our fairly windy locale these have been effective in reducing birds strikes on our tall windows. After having experienced up to several bird strikes a day on our windows, these have reduced the number to only a couple per month--and only on calm days with no wind. Provides good movement even with a slight breeze, and they are narrow enough (and pretty enough) not to distract significantly from the view out the window--a problem with other bird strike prevention devices we looked at.I replaced the wooden piece that provides weight on the bottom (which is noisy when it bangs the window in the wind) with a small pet tennis ball (small, fuzzy ball) available at most pet stores. Just cut off the wooden piece, tie a cord to the remaining ribbon, drill a hole through the pet tennis ball (or poke holes through with a knife or ice pick), and poke the cord through the tennis ball and tie multiple knots until the knot is too large to slip through the hole. Hang from a hook and you're all set. The small ball is heavy enough to stabilize the spinner, but not too heavy to interfere with the curls which spin the wind. We have one for each window.

This is and easy to hang wind spinner. I feel it’s on its hook securely. I have hung it from my ceiling hanger on my balcony. For something more showy, I wish I had gotten a larger one. I like that the weight on the end of the ribbon is wood, because it does sometimes hit an adjacent pillar about a foot away from it and makes a not too loud sound, because that little weight is wood.

I HAD TO CONTACT THE COMPANY THAT MAKES IT, SINCE YOU SENT ME A VERY SMALL ONE, THE OTHER ONE I HAD AND THE ONE I WAS SURE I HAD ORDERED WAS ABOUT 5 FT LONG SAME AS MY ODER ONE, THIS 24 INCHES LOOKS EVEN SMALLER AND RIDICOULOUS, HOWEVER THE COMPANY PERSON IN CHARGE WAS SO VERY NICE TO SEND ME THE SAME AS I HAD OF 5 FEET AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE, THAT WAS VERY NICE OF THEM, I DO BELIEVE THAT AMAZON GOOFED ON THE ORIGINAL ORDERTHE COMPANY IS A RESPONSIBLE AND A PLACE WHERE I WILL ORDER AGAINI AM VERY PLEASE WITH THE REAL ONE I GOT FROM THEM, NOT THE RIDICOULOUS TINY ONE SENT BY AMAZON.
