Friends Ask First!: A Book About Sharing (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood)

Good lesson for small kids
Short, rhyming, goes along with the Daniel Tiger episode. Gentle way to teach toddlers about sharing & not grabbing. So when my twins were fighting over a toy I’d just sing “before you take something away, stop and ask if it’s okay” and they respond better than trying to teach or reason with them. Now they’re used to it & will sometimes say that phrase to each other. They don’t necessarily scream & fight right away and will sometimes talk to each other & work it out. Ahhh progress with less hassle. (P.s. Daniel Tiger is based off of the old school Mr. Rogers Neighborhood & has lots of excellent lessons for small children.)

Only Child Success
I have a two year old only child who like most her age, is not great at sharing. We LOVE Daniel Tiger - after reading this book she's so conscious of sharing with her friends and asking first. She sings the song in the book (you can find the tune on youtube if you don't want to make it up yourself) and is learning appropriate boundaries and sharing her "work" with other children when she's done or waiting until they are done to ask if she can use something. Worth the buy!

Ugga-Mugga. We Love Daniel Tiger
Daniel Tiger and I are killing it at co-parenting. Whenever I can't handle a messy toddler situation, I turn to Daniel Tiger; he's usually able to reason with my little one who adores this sweet revamp of Mr. Rogers's famous puppet. I bought this book about sharing after our daycare informed us that my little girl was being rather aggressive with the other kiddos (She likes to pretend to be a dinosaur. Other kids don't like this game as much). She doesn't love this book as much as she loves some of the other Daniel Tiger books that have lift-the-flap features. Additionally, some of the text is a bit long to keep her attention. However, the message about sharing is sound and gives readers lots of phrases to help kids with socialization and taking turns.

Great book, short and sweet and to the point
Our 2 year old son has trouble with sharing (don’t they all?) and specifically with taking things at times from friends As well as not doing well when other friends in his preschool take things from him. This is a great book that gives 4 examples of how to ask before taking something, how to politely say no but share later and how to play well together by sharing. It’s become one of my favorites.

Daniel Tiger is educational and fun
We love Daniel Tiger in my house. Daniel is age appropriate for my toddlers and he always has a good lesson to teach. My kids enjoyed this book. It was short enough to keep their attention, but also packed an insightful message about asking before doing. We will continue to enjoy this book until the kids outgrow Daniel or it gets destroyed/falls apart.

Taught my 3yr old daughter to (mostly) take turns
Great book, I mean for an adult the story and names are odd but it does what it’s supposed to and my little girl likes it and has learnt from it. Would recommend buying.
