Arcane Artifacts and Curious Curios: 1000 Magical Artifacts for Game Masters

Well worth it!
Purchased Table Fables I, II, and Arcane Artifacts and Curious Curios. Very happy with my purchase. I really enjoy having physical books, and these lists are creative. The layout makes it surprisingly easy to flip through the pages, building an adventure on the fly. Worth it!

Detailed and Full of Potential Quests
Pros:I've found the objects in this book invaluable as a homebrewer GM. The blurbs mention colorful, easily adapted NPC characters and potential quests that would add depth to any homebrewed fantasy game. The book covers a vast array of items ranging from magic food, jewelry, containers, clothing, and accessories, so they can be easily adapted to any PC's fashion. This is an excellent expansion to one's homebrew repertoire if you want interesting ideas or NPCs to your game.Cons:Some item entries make them overpowered or vaguely written, and a few items overlap in function. There are no stats, so busy GMs may find it hard to stat, mechanically balance, and customize the magic item while preoccupied with their normal responsibilities. Busy GMs who don't have enough spare time or prefer to avoid homebrew could take the properties of these items and apply them to existing items. Conclusion:If you have the time and energy to add the details, this book gives you an excellent starting point for an expanded items list beyond magic sword/potion/armor.

WOW.. so much fun is going to come out of this book...
I got this book sort of on a whim, and from some of the other reviews, and I AM SO HAPPY I DID!!!I got this book two days ago, and started digging into it, as I was going to be starting a new campaign as DM this week (Which I have now started).I found so many cool and inventive things in here, and couldn't wait to add them into my campaign. So last night, first night of our campaign, I had the players roll a d10, and didn't tell them why (The book has 10 chapters, and it was recommended by the author to do this to find a chapter to start with).Today, I took and rolled a d100 for each chapter, and then proceeded to determine the item that they "Might" find in the beginnings of the campaign.I plan on having them randomly roll d10's during later parts of the game to see what other objects they might find, if they're looking closely enough that is.I HIGHLY recommend this book to ANYONE who plays D&D, and possibly lots of other TTRPG's (I can't speak to them, as I don't play them).I read a few off to my wife, and even a few as an example off to the PC's, and everyone was EXTREMELY excited to try and incorporate these into our campaign, and I was only scratching the surface. Now, just for the sake of being 100% clear, there are 1000 items in this book, not all are "Useful" items. However the majority (probably well over 850) of them I have read through, are useful in any campaign. Some more than others, and some more to specific class's.Thank you to the author for publishing such a fun and interesting book. Also thanks for leaving a lot of the details up to the DM, so we can switch it up for each campaign.

Tons of Creative Items - Well Worth the Money
This book has 1000 magic items, sorted by type. There are so many clever and creative ideas in here, with a huge variety. Other supplements I've read are just a hundred variations on "you get +2 to this check". But these ones are all unique. The items are system-agnostic, which can be a pro or con depending on what you're looking for. If you want ready-to-go magic items for D&D 5e, this may not be right for you. You'll have to put in a little effort to buff out the mechanics. But if you want ideas for custom items to bring into your homebrew world for any edition of D&D, Pathfinder, Fate, Monster of the Week, Quest, Dungeon World, etc., you should pick this up.It's also organized so you can roll for random items depending on what you want. Do you want a random item? Roll a d1000. A random accessory? Roll a d100. A random ring? Roll a d20.

Well well
I found this a book interesting and will certainly get some mileage out of it. The artwork while whimsical is not high quality but it suffices. This book looks like it was self published and trust me that is not a bad thing. so pick up this book and you will be a happy DM.On a side note to the writer. One suggestion. your book is nice and chunky i think a spiral bind or a saddle stitch would work better and make the book studerier

Great Book!
★★★★★ from henry hagen on January 10, 2020Great Investment!!This book sets itself far apart from other ones that claim to have some level of creativity that ends up being utter garbage that you could look up with a simple lame rando table. NOT SO with this book. Kudos to this team, a really useful reference filled with really cool ideas and items that are really unknown with cool story ideas. I love the random tables concept to get help randomize things. Just a great new addition!!I looked at this book a little longer and spend more time in the reviews etc. This was due to not wanting to be ripped off again by this other author that shall go unnamed.. The other author has bad books with great covers and bad reviews that will give away the lameness that is trying to be sold so watch out for the poo. Or just cut to the chase and support awesome creative talents like this team!!

Surprising, and also not surprising
This book came as a surprise after buying and enjoying Table Fables and Table Fables II, mainly for the sheer SIZE of the thing! The other reviews have covered the vast amount of creative ideas in this book, I'd just like to point out that the simple art and layout are reminiscent of early RPG manuals and zines (in the best possible way), which makes the book even more enjoyable on that level. As I said in previous reviews, I would love to see a full fantasy RPG book that was written and illustrated by Hale.

Many, many unique items to dress out your dungeons and reward the player characters!
I will be using this book to add some awesome unique items to my game world. Can be used randomly by rolling dice, or personally choose the desired item.

So many ideas!
Not sure what I was expecting, not the large book that was delivered. Easy to use with some imaginative ideas

The only magic item book you'll ever need!
This book got delivered today and it is amazing! Firstly, it exceeded my expectations in terms of just how massive it is! I got Madeline's first book Table's Fables as a Christmas gift (and loved it! Would highly recommend that one also!) and expected this one to be similar in size, but this book is like 5 times as thick. The magic items in this are amazing and unique. They all come with such well conceived histories and interesting effects that really elevates a magic item from being just another +1 something or other into a unique object that stimulates creative playing and helps create truly memorable story moments in my d&d games. I already use several magic items from tables fables (and they players who've gotten magic items from that book have all made them integral to their characters) and can't wait to incorperate a bunch of magic items from AA & CC into my game! Highly recommend!
