Great keyboard/mouse tray - Very Comfortable. Easy to install
I have a computer desk where while moving, the bottom drawer of the desk kept coming off which held my keyboard and house. I unattached the broken parts and bought this for the replacement, and it is better than how the desk came originally. Installation: Very easy although the directions leave a little to be desired. You can watch a video of how to install if you get a bit confused. You need a drill to drill in small holes for the screws to catch the wood underneath the desk, and I also recommend a power screwdriver for installation of the rack that fits underneath. The tray comes with a sticky mouse pad, a great gel wrist bar, and more sticky squares so it all stays firm on the tray board. The mounting mechanism for the tray is very similar to screwing in a TV stand into a new TV. Four screws on the back, washer and small bolt on the top to lock it all down. Then it slides right in. There is also a paper guide that you tape to the bottom of the desk telling you where to drill the small holes with your drill. Appearance: Looks very nice. It also matches my black computer desk. Workability: You untwist the knob and you are able to position the tray up and down, left and right moves by itself. Very easy to adjust the setting for great comfort. Quality: All good quality parts and after install it is very sturdy. I have a G105 Logitech Gaming keyboard and that fits just right with my mouse. I mention that because I had one of the plastic stands on the right side of the keyboard break off. And now I no longer need either of them with this tray. Bonus. I didn't even think of that when I bought this. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. At first I thought it was a little expensive, but now that I have it, I know I will be using it for a long time. 5 Stars - I definitely recommend this product if you are in need of a keyboard/mouse tray, need versatility in movement, and are tired of having your keyboard/mouse on your desk itself.

Is It Worth The Money?!...Yes It Is!!!
I was looking for a keyboard tray to not only help improve my posture, but also accommodate a wired Apple iMac keyboard (latest model as of early 2014) and track pad; I also use the Magic Mouse. I hesitated to purchase this simply because of the price, but I'm so glad I ended up buying it. It's a nice solid keyboard tray with quality construction--one that you would find in a work environment. It does NOT wobble up and down while typing but it can slide side to side about a quarter of an inch IF you apply some pressure. You won't be doing this much while you're typing on the keyboard or moving your mouse. I was also a little nervous that the wrist rest was too big for the slim profiled Apple keyboard, however it fits pretty good. The height of the wrist rest in relation to the profile of the keyboard doesn't seem to have any negative effect on my wrist, so for now I'll say it works great. The movement of the tray sliding in and out and side to side is nice and smooth and doesn't feel cheap; again the construction feels solid. The extra things such as the cable management brackets and the velcro pieces for the wrist rest are a nice addition. The instillation took a little longer than anticipated but I'm glad I took my time. The directions, as others have stated, aren't that great. You may think that it shouldn't be difficult...and it isn't. but you just have to really pay attention to what you are doing. The directions leave out certain details such as the rear of the bracket has the stopper screwed in already. The directions have you screwing in two screws that aren't supplied, but since the stopper is already in place you don't have to do anything with this. Just keep in mind that this is the part that faces the rear of the desk. Common sense should tell you that but the directions don't state it OR show it so if you're not reading ahead you won't catch this and you'll have to remove the bracket and reinstall. The directions also doesn't really show you which screw holes to use for the arm, as there are several holes in which you can mount the arm bracket to the tray. I lined up the arm so that the last holes to the rear of the arm bracket is still covering the tray. This leaves you using the second set of holes for the front of the arm bracket(you'll understand what I'm saying when you install it). I'm so glad I took the time to read the reviews prior to installing because the other reviewers offered EXCELLENT tips. I took the advice of others and installed the mounting bracket 2" further back than the instructions state; so the edge of the bracket was 2 1/4" away from the edge of the desk. The tray still sticks out about a half an inch, when fully pushed in, however this is not a big deal for me. If you don't want it sticking out at all, I suggest you mount it 2 3/4" provided you follow the same set of screw holes for the arm as I did. Also whoever said to mount the bracket off center is a genius! I wouldn't have thought of this and my "I want everything to line up" mentality would have had me install the bracket dead center. I know there are other alternative keyboard trays on Amazon, and people's opinions are, well....just that--opinions. I've had the $20 cheap plastic slide out drawer and it fell apart within a few months. So rather than keep spending money on the cheap stuff, I dished out the extra money for this one. And I'm so very glad I did. $99 may seem a lot, but its the little annoying things that I DON'T have to deal with that made this purchase worth it. I can already feel an improvement on my posture as well, and I would totally buy this again if I needed to. I'm completely satisfied with this keyboard tray.

Sturdy, smooth, adjustable, impressed
I'm impressed with how sturdy this keyboard shelf feels, and how smoothly it slides on the track and swivels. The keyboard height and tilt are adjustable, but in order to adjust them it's part of the same movement and requires a little muscle and finesse, but eventually I got it right where I needed it. It can be a little tricky getting the correct height. I wanted it a little higher than I set it at but then there wasn't enough clearance for the keyboard to tuck under the track bumper when I wanted to slide it under my desk, so I had to play with it until I got just the right miniscule amount of clearance and correct tilt, but I'm very happy with it once I got it where I wanted it! The whole shelf also pivots/swivels left to right which is great for angling the keyboard right where you need it. You can swivel it at anytime without having to adjust the knob (and possibly lose your height/tilt, since that function is springy and changes position as soon as you loosen the knob). I read the other comments about how the shelf doesn't tuck all the way under when you push it all the way to the back of the track. The instructions claims it's supposed to, but due to the adjusting mechanism the length the shelf sticks out changes depending on the height you set it at (so the lowest height has the shelf sitting back the farthest, while the higher heights have the shelf sticking out a bit more). Before installation I played around with the shelf and track just to see how far it was going to stick out based on the height I wanted, it was only going to be an inch or two but I decided I didn't want it to stick out at all so I set the mounting template back precisely 5 inches from the front of the desk to the Datum line on the template. IF YOU SET THE SHELF FURTHER BACK THAN THE INSTRUCTIONS DIRECT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SET THE KEYBOARD HEIGHT TO BE ABOVE THE DESKTOP. However, I knew I would not want the shelf to be above my desktop height anyway. Not only is that too high for me, but you need to have the shelf fully extended which means you're sitting rather far back from the desk. I knew I wouldn't want the shelf fully extended when I used it anyway, I only let it peek out just enough to access the keyboard, so setting the track back worked for me just fine. But if you need your shelf to be 1 inches above your desktop or whatever, follow the instructions regarding track placement. Even though I set it back so far, the keyboard shelf still extends very far out, much further than I need it to. I can definitely fully access everything on the shelf. I'm considering getting a little shallow container for pens and such to mount to the shelf behind the keyboard because there's still a lot of room back there. (It's a Mac keyboard.) The 3M stickies and velcro things to set your keyboard and manage the cables just make this whole thing come together in a really professional, beautiful way. I use a trackball so I'm probably going to pick up a few extra velcro thingies to stick that to the shelf as well, since it's already sliding around a little as I open and close the shelf. I mounted this shelf to an Elfa component desk purchased from the Container Store. It pretty much takes up the whole space between the legs and the filing cabinet supporting the other end of the desk. One of my concerns was if there would still be enough clearance under my desk for my rolling drawer unit to fit. I thought it would be ok under the shelf itself, but I wasn't sure about the track and slide mechanism. But it moves around those things just fine, so I can still roll it around under my desk as freely as I need it to. And to top it all off, my chair arms fit perfectly in the space between my desk and the shelf, so I can tuck my chair fully under my desk for the first time in years! (Before I had to keep my chair arms at an odd height to accommodate typing on the desktop surface and they prevented the chair from tucking under fully.) In conclusion, I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD SHELF!! There are a few quirks that keep it from being perfect, but I think it's well worth the price. A GREAT VALUE!

Actually pretty nice/ worth it!
I was considering between getting this, or a standard roll out keyboard tray. I spend a lot of time at the computer, so I thought it might be nice to get the little nicer one, for extra ergonomic support (don't want to get carpal). This keyboard tray actually has a very nice set of features (which can said of most 3M products). It both can go up and down ( I think 1 inch above mounting surface, and quite a bit down- so whether your legs are touching the bottom of the desk, or you have a lot of room, it can adjust the keyboard to accommodate). It also has full tilt/ swivel, so you can just rotate the entire thing right or left under your desk, if you have the room. The keyboard surface also tilts, with a decent range, but I would have thought it would tilt more towards you than away from you, but maybe it's just more ergonomic. The mounting pieces are also heavy duty metal- crazy sturdy. The last little surprise is he little gel pad at the bottom of the keyboard tray. It goes along the entire bottom, for both mouse and keyboard, but is stuck on with some strange, almost completely flat velcro. I have a giant mouse pad for gaming, and was worried about them conflicting, but they work fine (just have the mousepad above it, but could also unvelcro that half and put it under). The thing is also fairly wide - enough for a logitech g105 gaming keyboard, and about 2.5x the width of a g9x mouse, and the keyaboard could even hang off some if I needed more room (but it doesn't feel cramped as it is). I was pretty worried about mounting this on a Gallant table from ikea, and it isn't as traight forward as it could be. The gallant frame is a giant rectangle, with only 8-10" from the edge of the table to the frame, whereas the rail for the keyboard tray is like 18 inches long, so if you mounted as is, it would stick out very far. But, we got some 2x6 wood pieces, screwed them into the gallant table on both sides of the frame, with a ton of 1-3/4th #6 screws (had to drill holes first, some screws tore from the head when the pre- drilled holes weren't big enough), and just mounted the keyboard tray between those two. It's been working great for months, but I wouldn't sit on the keyboard tray or anything :-o But even though it was almost as expensive as the desks we mounted it on, it allows you to position it exactly how you like, so if you spend a large amount of time at your desk, it's definitely worth it. Side note: I ordered two, and the boxes they come in are enormous. You could easily fit a power wheels kids car in it. I've never had a box that big delivered before!

Well-made, rock solid replacement for my ancient one.
My old undertray broke after only 20 years(!), and only because the arm material between the steel sliding base and the steel tray base was phenolic. After a lot of research, including considering spending $200+ on a HumanScale custom, it came down to giving this one a try since Amazon returns are very easy these days. I just finished installing it, and thought I'd give my impressions. This is what I find useful when doing my own research, so maybe it will help you too. I REALLY liked that the all-steel arm has a LIFETIME guarantee, and since I don't expect 3M is going out of business anytime soon, if this one breaks I'll get a free replacement. I'm going to address some of the concerns people have mentioned in other reviews. As alway, YMMV. Regarding the accuracy of the drilling template, after measuring everything carefully and comparing to the track itself, everything lined up. The center-to-center measurements on the template match the holes in the track. The template enclosed with mine was document #5500180 Rev B, so I'm sure that made the difference from other's experiences. Regarding how far to mount the track from the desk edge, I mocked it up with the tray attached and the 1.625" spacing called out in the instructions worked great. Yes, it leaves a bit of tray exposed when retracted all the way in, but remember that this unit also pivots, so in my case I'm able to swing it off to the side of the track when fully retracted if I want the tray completely stowed. I suspect if you mount the track much further inward beyond 1-5/8", it will make it difficult to get to the adjustment knob. Regarding the construction / feel of the adjustment knob, it feels sturdy enough for the long haul. Typically, one would get the tray adjusted to the height & angle desired, then just leave it there. Regarding side-to-side 'play' in the tray when in use, yes there is a tiny bit. But no more so, and probably less, than the one that I had forever, which I never noticed in use. There is enough 'stiction' throughout the mechanism on this one that I don't notice any movement when typing or mousing (so far...). Regarding the 1-3/16" black screws to hold the end piece in place, these are obviously designed to screw through the keeper and into the desk to provide additional support at the front end of the track where downward pressure is greatest. If you swap them out, you are likely compromising the design.

Good value for the price, works well
Ok -- it's not a human scale level of ease of use & ergonomics. The knob that controls adjustment takes a degree of strength to use and it's not as convenient as the form factor used on top of the line key board trays. It's also at least half (if not less) than the cost of top end trays. For the price, we have found that it works well. Once installed and in position, it's sturdy and stable. I took out the fixed keyboard try from our large wooden desk and fitted this with no issues. Wife approval factor reaches 'acceptable' level. Not stunning...not as nice as her top end tray at work... but fine for telework and at an affordable cost. I found the quality of the components to be reasonable for the cost... sturdy and likely to provide years of service. I did follow advice in these reviews and positioned about 3" from the edge and indeed...that works well in allowing the tray to be stowed completely under the desk while still providing ample room to pull it out. Final point -- my wife is 5'... she's comfortable but noted she would like even more travel to bring the tray even lower. That's likely an artifact of the tall wooden desk we're using which is likely not optimal for typing and her short stature. She compliments the tray with a foot stool so she can keep feet firmly supported.

Keyboard tray fulfils its purpose, but very basic and can be difficult to fine tune adjustment
I’m on the short side and have a standard height desk. For me to be seated in an ergonomic position, with feet flat on the floor and arms at a 90 degree angle, I needed a keyboard tray. I selected this tray because it provided the adjustments I wanted, such as slide in/out, vertical adjustment, and tilt adjustment. Just FYI, there is no pivot. Installation: Installation was straight forward, but you do have to be a bit handy. It comes with a paper template, but you will have to measure under your desk to make sure you have positioned correctly so it is in the position you want when fully extended and also centered and perpendicular to the front of the desk. Tools you will need are a drill with drill bit (I forgot the size) and Philips screw driver. You don’t have to use the drill, but I would recommend, drilling pilot holes or you run a high risk of stripping the heads of the screws because of the amount of force you will have to use. Remember, you are doing this while upside down. Another thing to note is that the arm and plate that mounts to the desk attaches to the centerline of the tray. Most trays do. If you are using full-size keyboard and mouse on the tray, you will not be sitting directly in the middle of your desk, or the tray, you will be off to the left a bit - unless you are left-handed of course. I may not be explaining this well, but just think about it and you’ll get it. Final setup and ergo positioning: The kit also includes a wrist rest, mouse pad and cable clips (in case you are using a wired keyboard and/or mouse). You don’t have to use them and the surface of the tray is smooth enough that you mouse will glide well on it without the mouse pad. The whole assembly slides smoothly on a track. There are no detents to stop at different lengths, but there is enough resistance so that you can choose where you want it and it will stay in place. No issues for me here. The vertical adjustment and tilt are set by the spring-loaded arm that connects the track to the tray. The knob attached to it is either loosened or tightened once you have manually adjusted the position of the tray. It does not actually make the adjustments thus micro adjustments are not possible with it. This is important, to note, because it will mean whether you love or hate this keyboard tray. To set my ergo position by myself was the most difficult part of the whole. This is how the process goes: • Sit in your chair with your knees under the front of the tray • Loosen the knob. Don’t do too much or the front of the tray is going to fall and whack you on the knees • Let the tray rest on your knees and lift your knees to adjust from front of the keyboard to the height you desire • While keeping your knees at the height you want, either push down or pull up the back of the tray to set the tilt. • Once in the position you like, tighten the knob. You’ll likely have to go through the process multiple times to get it right. You can see how fine tuning can be difficult with this product; however, once you get it dialed in, there is no need to change it and the product works fine. Overall, this is not a bad product considering the price and functions included. It performs well once you get it setup. It just requires a little more patience. However, if you make frequent adjustments to things, like your chair, then you might want to look into a tray that has a better means of adjustment as using this one would be difficult to get right each time.

AKT60LE - Good fundamentals with a few minor but dubious design decisions
It's sturdy and has a big range of motions, it glides in and out, and swivels side to side very easily. It does have a little bit of side wobble but I can't see how it would be noticeable outside of testing for it. As many have suggested it needs to be installed at least 3" back from the front of the desk if you want to be able to slide it all the way under, for me it was 3.7". Only considerable drawbacks overall that I noticed was it's a little on the small side. I use a smaller keyboard and had to install the tray more to the right side of my desk so that I could have my keyboard centered in front of me and still have room for my mouse, if I'd used a full sized keyboard w/ numkeys I wouldn't have been able to because my desk just isn't wide enough to install the tray that far over. If you use a full size keyboard, are right handed, and want to have your keyboard centered in front of you, as well as have room for your mouse, you should measure things out before buying, and make sure you can install the board in an offset way that accomplishes what you want. If not there's definitely other trays out there that will suit you. If you type at a negative incline you might notice the lack of anything to catch a runaway mouse, but honestly if it were that important you could make one with a quick trip to the hardware store and a bit of wood glue very easily, and chances are unless you have a very slippery mouse pad it wont be needed. Speaking of mouse pads, the included one is awful, and you shouldn't really care because you're not buying this for the mouse pad. I also did not install the wrist rest, although it did seem pretty nice, I just prefer to type without them. My experience so far is that none of the adhesives need to be used at all actually (but my keyboard has little rubber spots on the bottom so ymmv). The instructions weren't great honestly, for one they reference a pair of screws that aren't even relevant to this product (AKT60LE), which threw me for a loop, and the diagrams are *tiny*. I recommend finding the manual on the 3M website and utilizing your page zoom function. Installation was sort of an ordeal for me because I had to modify my desk (technically a table) by sawing the skirt down and attaching two pieces of plywood underneath to make it all flush under there. But the install itself is easy peezy, what took time was figuring out the exact positioning I needed. Anyways, I'm totally pleased with my newly ergonomic workstation, but I could see this not being the right choice for everyone.

Merveilleux!

Not that stable and flexible, and outgassing's a bitch
It isn't as stable as the details make it out to be, I wish i got something with a clasp instead. It isn't as easy to manipulate either, and its hard to get it just right. The outgassing is very bad too, I'm still smelling the VOCs more than a week after.
