Not made like they use to be...
Don't buy this chair! Just falls apart. 1 Beach season used about 3 times. 2025. This season tried it one time and the back broke and the footrest straps broke on the first day. The edges are fraying. Looks like garbage. This was an expensive chair, and I waited a while to be able to buy this for myself. Though it was going to last for the price. Just a piece of junk. Again, don't waste your money. They don't make things like they used to.

Great quality for the price I paid for!
Quality is good compare to the cheaper ones I got. The umbrella is pretty small though. Doubt it'll cover much when its very sunny. The mechanism of the adjustment works, but its made of plastic. The press in/pop back out button for the recline got stuck inside from the beginning but I was able to pop it back out. The fabric is thicker than the cheap chair I got. I actually recommended it to my friend cuz he was looking for a new one. For the umbrella, I got another clamp on umbrella thats bigger to replace it.

Flashy and that's about it
I wanted to have a good quality chair for the beach that would keep me up off the sand, let me recline, and keep me in the shade. This chair comes off as being the ultimate chair for such a purpose, however it's over selling itself very much. When I received the chair, being a larger guy at the top end of the weight rating, I took it for a spin in my kitchen and everything worked fine and it supported me well. Fast forward to taking it to the beach for the first time, everyone I was with thought it was so cool after I set it up and asked where I got it from. Being an overcast day, I didn't adjust the umbrella much and relaxed for a while. After maybe an hour, the back gave out and the chair fell on one side. I had the chair positioned in the middle of three reclining positions and the retaining ball on one side either fell out into the sand or inside the leg tube. For the rest of the day I had to keep the chair fully reclined which gave me a nice neck ache when trying to eat some lunch, talk to others, or otherwise not stare at the inside of the umbrella. After speaking to Amazon, they offered to overnight me a new one free of charge. Due to the weekend, I got the replacement 2 days later which meant 2 more beach days staring at the inside of the umbrella. Upon receiving the replacement, I decided to enjoy the fully upright position I again had access to. Being a sunny day, I tried getting maximum shade on myself. I found the replacement had a lot more play in the umbrella and a slight breeze would move it a few inches in any direction. This is when it became apparent that the umbrella could never provide shade over your entire body unless you sat away from the sun directly behind you late in the day with the umbrella pointing almost straight up. You could maybe get 75% coverage if you had the sun directly over you and your legs tucked in under the chair. After finally settling into a position, again I fell to one side. This time, the part of the "arm" that attaches to the back of the chair pulled completely out of it's grommet. After this experience, it's very clear these are cheaply made and definitely not for a larger individual. Other things I thought would work well did not. The cup holder in the arm sits at an angle, so a half filled container is fine, but a full cup or can spills easily. Also, using the "cooler" only works as long as you don't want to fold the chair to carry in it's case so you need a cooler to bring to begin with and then you can hold a couple of cans until you're ready to leave. The recliner is nice, but you can't really detach it, just un-clip the top and let it hang in front of you. I wound up needing an umbrella, folding table, and cooler anyway so $60 for just a chair is really not worth it, especially being that two different ones broke the first hours of use.

Good beach chair, flimsy carrying case
I bought two of these chairs for our Waikiki Beach vacation to use at the beach - chairs were very comfy and sturdy. LOVED the umbrella feature, as well as the foot rest. The insulated bag kept our drinks cold for a few hours. We saved a LOT of money, because it would have cost us $75 per day at the beach to rent one umbrella and 2 lounge chairs. We spent 8 days at the beach - do the math. (And we can use them again for another beach vacation!) They transported well on the airplane. My only complaint is the very poorly sewn carrying case. It literally started ripping when I took the chair out of the bag (when they first arrived at my house). Luckily, I know how to sew and triple stitched each seam, and put a double layer of flannel material at the bottom of the bag so the feet would not wear through. So if you buy these chairs, be sure to reinforce the seams of the carrying case as soon as you get it - without a strong carrying case, you won't be able to easily transport the chairs to the beach or any other location. The chairs themselves are very good for the price.

Amazing and comfortable!
Here's a few things I like and dislike about this chair. I still gave it 5 stars even though there are a couple of dislikes. I'm 5'10" and about 215lbs and the chair fits me perfectly with room to grow (up or out)... Likes: Foot rest is adjustable in height Foot rest is removable if you just want a normal camping chair Umbrella is removable Umbrella can be mounted on either side of chair Lots of storage! An insulated right pocket can easily fit 2 cans and an ice pack. Front pocket between legs is about the size of a small pencil case for storing things other than pencils. Also has a bottle opener on the front pocket! Left arm rest includes a cup holder Left arm rest includes a pocket for your mobile device large enough to fit a Galaxy S7 Edge and includes a hole to pass ear buds through if you want to zip your device in the pocket. Reclines to two additional positions (3 position total). Carrying case easily fits chair and accessories so you don't have struggle when packing it up. Sturdy and stable, and bars don't dig into thighs like other camping chairs. Dislikes: There should be another oversized cup holder on the other arm rest. Umbrella only seems to adjust front to back, it could be difficult to block sun if it was coming at you from the side as it doesn't bend left to right, only front to back. But the shade itself can be rotated which helps. 7/6/16 CON update: The shade/umbrella is very flimsy in the wind. It doesn't take much wind at all to shake the shade violently. I would be concerned that shade could break very easily. Especially where it attaches to the chair. So if you're planning on using this at the beach, hope that it's not a windy day... Honestly, that is it. This is a great camping chair and makes people jealous for sure. I am an RV'er and in my 30's and absolutely love this chair.

Best chair ever... especially for Sport Moms and those with bad lower back!
This is my 2nd sportbrella recliner chair. My last one was stolen! So I had to purchase another! My last chair lasted me about 2 years.. held up perfectly, had no fraying, wearing, mechanical issues like in other pics at all. This is with heavy use, I use it for watching baseball games so I use it about 9 months a year-3 times a week. I never put it back in bag, I throw it in the car, take it to the beach, camping, slept in this baby at comic con overnight... its THE chair. Its so comfortable, the umbrella will give you shade at any angle, as it switches sides and turns itself into any position. Im extremely sensitive to sunlight, its fabulous. Only thing is if its very windy, but you will find that with any umbrella. But that's rarely ever an issue. I'm 5'6, 130 lbs, but my husband uses it comfortably as well at 6'1 200 lbs. I use the cupholder, and the zipper pouch for my phone, I've even used the bottle opener a few times! The cooler bag is great for keeping drinks cool or i often use it to throw away trash or sunflower seeds and then i just turn it inside out to empty it, wipes clean. I keep my sunflower seeds in it as well. I recommend this chair to anyone that has any back problems as I have a slipped vertebrae and i can't sit upright for long without discomfort this chair allows me to put my feet up and lay back just enough to relieve pressure off my lower back and relax. I would use this chair in my house its so comfy. Ive had it in blue and now red. Love both. Everyone loves my chair, I've had like 20 compliments on it and inquiries on where I bought it over the past few years. Highly recommend for baseball, soccer, moms who find themselves at games and practices alot..invest in this!! You will find plain chairs like this at your local store without a footrest or any recline for the same price. I would without a doubt pay $120 for this chair every year if I needed to.

Convenient, but some concerns
I have owned several of these chairs, and find them a convenient and useful option for days at the beach in the Outer Banks. They have convenient compartments, the foot rest is a great option, and having the attached umbrella makes it an efficient chair for the beach. The umbrella is adjustable and long, and you can accommodate most angles of the sun. In addition, the umbrella can be switched to different sides of the chair. I have some complaints about the two chairs I most recently bought in April, however. The strap on the carrying case is already fraying and is almost ripped off after maybe three carries. The reclining feature is not working. This seems to be a new problem, as I have never had this problem with Sportbrella chairs in the past. I have recently reached out to customer service, so we’ll see what kind of response I get.

Absolutely AWESOME chair, and now even better!!!
***UPDATE 7/12/21*** Well, after five years of frequent use my faithful companion finally gave out completely, which I’m fine with as it gave me many, many hours of comfort in rain, heat, etc. So right after my trusty steed collapsed I had no reservations about hopping right back on Amazon and ordering a new one, and SUPRISE — the overly fragile umbrella that was my only real complaint about my old chair appears to have been beefed up and improved. I still highly doubt it would withstand the strong wind gusts that frequently occur at the beach, but I no longer feel the need to lunge in a panic to grab the the umbrella with anything more than a mild breeze for fear the tines would snap. Thank you Sport-Brella for making this critical improvement, and I’m looking forward to years of comfort and enjoyment with my new chair. ***UPDATE*** 9/19/16 After 3 months of use I encountered my first issue. On a somewhat windy day on the soccer field a gust of wind came and snapped one of the spines loose under the umbrella. I emailed the company and they responded promptly asking me for a picture and the receipt. Not unreasonable but I didn't get to it right away, but I was very happily surprised when they proactively called me to follow up. They were very helpful and have sent me a replacement under warranty. Very impressive. Going forward I'll keep the umbrella down on windy days. A fairly minor annoyance given all the good thing about this chair, although I do wish they'd make the umbrella more sturdy in the future. Still 5 stars from me for a great overall product and just as great customer service. BTW I also bought their Sport-Brella XL umbrella and it is also a very impressive and thoughtfully designed product. This chair is exactly what it looks like in the picture. And the good news is that it's very well built and works perfectly. I've now used it at several kids sporting events, and without fail someone approaches me to ask about it and to get the link. One guy was so impressed he actually ordered it right there on the field. The chair itself is comfortable and sturdy, and the footrest likewise works well and makes life much more comfy during long games. Now for the really great part...the umbrella. It's getting hot here now, and being able to create some shade when the sun is beating down for hours is a game changer. The umbrella pivots and turns in so many different ways it's always possible to block the sun from my head and upper body, although it's not really big enough to cover my legs and feet. But that's ok. It can even be moved to either side of the chair depending on what side the sun is on. During a long soccer tournament last weekend I watched others bake under the hot sun while I sat in shady comfort. Priceless. As an added bonus, despite all its parts the chair folds up very easily, and when it's packed up in its bag it's not much bigger or heavier than a normal folding chair. Amazing. I would not be without this chair ever again, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The only minor, and I do mean minor, issue is that it takes a little care to get the chair into its bag. The bag itself is a nice size and the chair fits in it better than other chairs I've owned, but due to all the parts the drawstring can fairly easily get stuck in one of the many joints preventing the bag from completely covering the chair. Not a big deal, and I found that by keeping the drawstring on the opposite side of the umbrella when loading largely avoids this issue. In any event, it's a small price to pay for all of the many benefits this chair offers. I'm thinking this would also make a great gift for anyone who spends long periods of time sitting outside. The only thing I'm not sure about is how the umbrella would hold up at the beach since I haven't tried that yet. It's designed and built well and held up fine in a good breeze on the soccer field, but I don't know if it could handle stronger gusts that can pop up at the beach. I'd bring a beach umbrella just in case. Further bonuses are the chair actually reclines in two lower positions (although not flat), it has its own bottle opener, a cooler that can hold a few drinks, a good amount of storage, and a smaller pouch on the armrest that can fit a large smart phone and actually has pass through built into it for headphones. About the only thing they didn't add to this chair that I'd like to have is a head pillow, but given everything else I feel bad even bringing that up. If you're even thinking about buying this chair, just do it. You won't regret it.

Okay.
