Jameson FG-6/3F Fiberglass Pole Set

Spend the extra money quality will save in the long run. Don't buy the junk at hardware store, or here. It will break and your tree will keep getting bigger

Wish I had purchased this a long time ago instead of my 16' EGO carbon fiber pole saw. I can reach 30+ feet into my palm trees or make it shorter for my other palms. For cutting branches the saw attachment works better than the power pole saw. I almost bought one of the cheaper version (another brand) but after using this one I know they would not have lasted for those 30' cuts. This pole is built to last, the connectors are rigid and can be assembled and disassembled easily. Yes it's difficult to control with all the lengths connected but that's expected. Before I purchased I found the individual poles in the Jameson store in the unlikely event it breaks.

We use this pole saw often. Our tree service guy recommended we buy this to do smaller branches ourselves. We have so much money by trimming trees. It paid itself off the first day we used it (what we would have spent to have our tree guy to trim trees). You do have to be careful - branches don't always fall the way you think they will!

these are very good. they very are strong but they are flimsy when you attach more then 1 on it and hard to control when you put something on the end of it dur to the weight and it bending too much.

You can get a cheaper version of this, but I'm never happy when I skimp on tools I plan on using. I am VERY HAPPY with this product. I added the saw and find it works very well. I have even used it with all the pieces connected which allows me a very high reach for pruning trees. The poles are solid but no heavy. All connected, the set up is not terribly light, but it is manageable. I added the saw from the same manufacturer and am quite pleased. Tree trimmers charge a bundle in my area, and the thing provides some seriously effective upper body exercise. Spend the extra upfront for quality. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing but good stuff to say about these poles, by themselves. Extremely high quality. Unfortunately, I can't use all four poles for maximum reach with the Jameson double-pully pruning head attached because then the assembly is way off balance -- top heavy and unmanageable. So, in reality, only three of the four poles can be used that way. That's not a criticism of the poles themselves, but something to keep in mind if that's your intended use (as mine was). With a pruning saw end (much lighter), I'm sure you could use all four.

These poles are extras in case I have lots of various lengths needed. Usually have matching hook ends near by to help pull or push branches away. The strength is good without excess flexing.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These polls are very well designed. The locking pin between segments rotates just enough that you can see when the holes align, then rotate it back into place. This approach probably results is a little more wobble or play in the assembled poll than a screw-in joint, but then there is no concern that the segments come unscrewed during use. With all four segments in use, there is some play in the full poll, but it still works well enough.
