Love the concept of a recovery seed STAMPED into titanium, a metal which won't rust or corrode. And a melting point over 3000°F. Average temp of a house fire is 1100°F, with peaks between 1,200 and 1,800°F. Meaning the plate would survive a fire even if it wasn't locked in a safe. One minor complaint is the really tiny punch set included with the kit. Almost too small to read (2mm??), especially if you don't use good technique while doing it. I practiced on some scraps of metal first, decided it was a lost cause. Ended up using a 3mm (1/8”) set which was much more readable. But the etched blocks spacing would easily allow a 4mm (5/32”) or even 5mm (3/16") . (See attached picture, their 2mm on top, my own 3mm below.) Suggest purchasing only the plates, and get a larger punch kit elsewhere. Important -When you actually punch the letters, use a solid smooth metal backing plate for best results. Bench block, jewelers block, anvil, metal vice, or anything similar. Attempting to do this with a wood backing (or rubber, concrete, carpet, etc) is going to result in a warped plate and dimpled characters.

Ignore the people here that whine about this product. It’s extremely easy and effective to do this. If you have a hammer and flat cement floor it’s dummy proof. Excellent product!

I cant give this enough stars. First of all the kit works exactly as advertised. We did have a hiccup i got 2 of the same letter. When I reached out I not only got an immediate response but they same day they shipped me put the correct letter. Superb customer service and I could not be happier! If I ever need another one of these kits I wont order from anyone else. This company goes above and beyond for thier customers!

The punch set is covered in oil, which I imagine is to keep them from rusting, but still a mess to deal with. It is easy to make a variety of mistakes with, such as incomplete letters, orientation, spacing. Longer words can be a challenge. I will likely make a duplicate with other metal piece. Is there a better way? Problem is, you cannot ask a professional to punch the metal for you. Better approach is probably cost prohibitive., unless that is your own trade.

If you need glasses you will not be able to use this product. The letters are so small I had to zoom in on my phone to see it and it was still very difficult. This could be easily resolved by making everything a little bigger. Even my kids who don't need glasses had trouble making out the letters. Also the punch set needs a holder (no holder included). The punches are very small and you need a big heavy hammer to make an impression. The punches are short so it's difficult to keep your fingers out of the way. I completely botched the first plate and tried on the second plate and suffered many of the same issues. When I finally got a couple letters punched in it was too small to read. Even my kids needed to zoom in with my phone to read it. My kids don't need glasses. You will probably need 2-3 hours to punch a seed phrase. Very tedious. I completely wasted my money on this set. I suggest spending your money else where before you waste your money as well. If I could give this zero stars I would.

It's a good option to store your 12- or 24-word BIP39 seed phrase. It is sure durable and I guess, it will withstand all imaginable disasters. It takes some time to punch in words in and I recommend doing it on a leveled and hard surface. Do not do it on a wooden table! It needs to be concrete or hard stone. The only downside is that on the backside you will see dents were the letters are, but it's not readable. Also, the hole plate was slightly bend after the work was done. I had to hammer it back a little to close it again. For the prize it is a very good option.

Easy to set up and very user-friendly

Put this on a hard surface, and give it a semi hard tap (not real hard) with a regular carpenters hammer. It will imprint nicely. You don't need a jewelers block, you don't need a sledge hammer. If you use a sledge hammer it WILL bend the metal. Came out great. I had 24 words so I printed out the alphabet on a piece of paper, laid each of the metal letters on top of the corresponding letter and I was able to go complete it very quickly.
