Natural Fix-Maybe worth the hype
Reason for purchase:Ok, so I purchased the Goji berries and the Chia seeds after talking to a Chinese friend of mine. I feel the need to give a little background on her to explain my purchase. Our friendship evolved around a misconception. My spouse and I are in our thirties and assumed that she was also. She is actually old enough to be our mom! We had tons of questions about her eating habits and lifestyle. I have adult acne, roscea, and digestive issues. My spouse and I are both trying to eat better. She of course told me to cut my sugar intake, sub honey, and to stop putting additional salt on my food. She informed me that each morning she has a cup of hot water with 1 tsp of chia seeds and honey. That's her breakfast. She also told us about Goji berries and their health benefits as well. She gave me chia seeds tea to try and I must admit, at first the consistency was hard to swallow, but she was standing right there waiting for me to try it and, you know.......I had to do it! I hate drinking orange juice with pulp so that first swallow had me nervous. Lol. But it wasn't that bad. She let the seeds simmer while constantly stirring for about five minutes so the seeds actually had a silky feel in the water. I wasn't bold enough to sip straight from the cup, so I spooned it out. The seeds are actually tasteless. I actually finished the entire cup! My husband declares he felt more energized and insisted I order some so I did.Product packaging/delivery/expectations:I received my packages on the last received by date, which is highly unusual for anything I've purchased from Amazon, but nonetheless, it was on time. The packages were as expected. The pricing is not bad.Use/results: TMI but it is my experience! The product arrived Saturday and my husband made a cup of our Chia tea and honey immediately. We also added about 6 or 7 Goji berries to the simmering brew. I drank my first cup Sunday morning. He claimed he was more alert throughout the night and he made frequent visits to the restroom. By this time, I'm feeling some kind if way because, he doesn't have digestive issues and it seems nothing naturally helps me. I drank a cup Monday morning as well along with a piece of fruit. The drink is actually filling. At times it feels as if it's stuck between my ribs but nothing painful. Just that full feeling. I do also have a hiatal hernia. Anyway, Monday was a break through! I was NORMAL. We eat three meals, we should visit the throne three times right???? I've NEVER done that. I drank it again Tuesday but nothing happened. I didn't Wednesday but by Thursday morning I was " Normal"-again!Summary:For me, the seeds and berry combo worked. I did not experience this with the chia seeds alone, It does suppress your appetite by giving a feeling of fullness, concluding me to include it in a regimen every two days to cut calorie intake. I am also skipping days to better monitor my reactions to the products. At this point, I am highly recommending it as a natural alternative for a laxative. I can't say with certainty that I'm more energized, but my spouse says he notices the difference. I do know that I'm not as drained by noon as I've been before. Maybe it's the time changing. Who knows what other variables came into play, hence the science experiment-but on the laxative effect alone, this product deserves 10 stars!!!!

These are the best I've had so far
I paid full price for this item - no discount for review. I ordered this and the package it came in was split and the berries where all over the inside of the box. Amazon refunded the item and sent another. Those went in the trash since who knows why they were open, or what got into them. The second batch I received were pretty fully sealed and pretty good. They were moderately chewy and not like the little bricks that these berries often come. I've tried several brands and these are definitely the most chewy I've had so far. The taste is pretty good and they blend up pretty well into smoothies. If you haven't had these before, the taste takes a bit of getting used to, but I've grown to like them. I would say they taste a bit "earthy".

All Berries Stuck Together in Hard Clump
I've been hearing about the great health benefits of Goji Berries for quite a while. I finally decided to give it a try, mostly because I wanted to experiment with the berries in my herbal tea infusions. When the bag first arrived, the berries were all clumped together in one very stiff form. They filled the bag to the very top, so i really had to work to try to break it up enough so I could actually open the top without the berries coming out. When I tried to take out individual berries, I realized that they were all sticky and still stuck together in hard clumps. So when I wanted just a few berries to add to my tea blend, I had to manually seperate each and every one, and they are really stuck together. The texture is a little hard and unusual. At first I thought that the taste might actually be fairly good. But then by the second berry, I disliked it. It has a really odd flavor to it although it is slightly sweet.I looked closely at the berries to make sure there was no mold, since I knew that was a possibility from reviewers. I don't see any, but I don't love that all the berries are so stiffly stuck together. You really have to peeeeel them off each other.I think these Goji Berries from Healthworks could be good when mixed with other ingredients for smoothies and other recipes. The health aspect is definitely worth it. But eating them alone isn't really my jam.. yet.I put the berries overnight in a cold tea infusion, so I'll see how it went. I have a feeling I'll have better luck with that.
