After 6 stress fractures, two broken arms, a fractured cheek bone...at age 33 I was told I had Osteopenia with a score of -2.4. The doctor could not believe the results so immediately re-tested getting a score of -2.2. He felt I was too young for prescription meds and recommended New Chapter Bone Strength. I was to be re-tested in two years, but due to a couple of moves, it was three years before my next scan. During those three years, I took Bone Strength religiously (but was only taking 2 daily because I misread the package). Apparently, that didn't make a difference. At Christmas, I had a new bone dex scan...results...-0.5...normal...normal...normal!!!! For the first time in 10-years, I started running again...with no stress fractures. I am so thankful for this product...so grateful that my MD suggested this herbal/natural course for me. Really and truly...this has changed my life. I will take this product faithfully. UPDATE 2015: Still in the normal range taking two tablets. My mom started taking this sporadicly about 24-mos ago. At that time she was taking a prescription for her osteoporosis. After 6-mos she began taking the prescription and BoneStrength consistently. 12-mos ago, she stopped the prescription and only took BoneStrength (with Doctor approval). About a month ago she had a Bone Density scan. She was downgraded from osteoporosis to osteopenia. She continues to take BoneStrength as her only source for additional calcium.

Highly rated calcium supplement

I had hip and back aches for a while that just never let up. I then found out that I had reduced bone density in my hips and back, and was diagnosed with mild osteoporosis. So I started looking for a good calcium supplement. After much research, I came across New Chapter Bone Strength Take Care, and liked the idea that all of the ingredients are natural with no fillers. So I decided to try it. I couldn't believe the results. Within 2 days, the aches were very much less, and after 4 days, the aches were completely gone. I have been taking this supplement for a couple of weeks, and the aches have not returned. So if I like this product so much, why the 2 star rating?? I recently found out that New Chapter has sold out to Proctor and Gamble who is greatly associated with Monsanto. So now I question what the quality of this product will be once Proctor and Gamble starts manufacturing it. I have also been using the New Chapter Zyflamend Whole Body that has also been very effective for inflammation. Now I have to start my research all over to find a safe and effective product for bone strength. UPDATE: 11/05/15: I have since called New Chapter, and was assured that Procter and Gamble would not change a product that works and was selling. In the interim, I switched to a different high quality brand, and my pains came back. So I switched back to the New Chapter Bone Strength, and within a week, the pains are gone again. So I have updated the review to 5 stars, and I am sticking with this product. I really works for me!! UPDATE 06/06/18 As of this point in time, I am still using this product for myself (71 -years-old), and my mother 98-years-old) for about 4 1/2 years. Prior to using this supplement I had pains in my sharp knees when going down stairs.I was also diagnosed with borderline osteoporosis. Since using this supplement, I have not had the any pains pains in my knees and my last physical showed that my diagnosis was osteopenia. I also started having problems with my finger joints locking in the morning when I woke up. I am assuming that this was being caused by arthritis. This problem has also been totally eliminated. This is one supplement that I wouldn't want to be without.

First of all thanks to all those who reviewed this product. I bought it based on the reviews. Now it is my turn. I have been taking this product for over a year and I recently had a bone density test that was great! I took it as directed and of course I ate well - greens, etc. and exercised well especially the first year. Pill are really slim and go down easy - a big plus for me. And no, I am not paid to review this. I want to spread the word - this product actually works - my numbers actually improved so much that I got a "I am pleased to inform you...." letter from the doctor. Of course as with any supplement consult with your doctor first prior to taking it. I will continue to take New Chapter Bone Strength. I have read the latest article in the NY Times on supplements and it is concerning, but for now I will continue to take this supplement. I will provide an update if things change. So glad I found this product! I had been taking Oyster Shell Calcium for years, and discovered the damage it can cause recently. After researching the various plant/algae based calcium substitute reviews, I decided to try New Chapter Bone Strength because of the wonderful reviews. I was experiencing off and on hip joint pain, when overdoing it working in the yard, 4 wheeling, bike riding, etc. It was starting to keep me awake at night, so I decided to do something about it. After reading the reviews for this product, I figured that a bottle of the 120 Slim Tabs would be cheaper than a visit to the Orthopedic Surgeon's office. After 2 weeks of taking 2 slim tabs at noon, and one tab in the evening, my hip pain is virtually gone! I am afraid to stop taking Bone Strength, to see if the hip pain returns! It absolutely took away the pain, as I have done nothing else to try to relieve the hip issue. I have ordered two more bottles, so that I will not run out! I admit that I was a huge skeptic, but not anymore! If it works....I am staying with it! PS....A friend of mine told me that she was having hip problems, and I immediately informed her about Bone Strength. She contacted me a few days ago, and told me that she can't believe that her hip is better! New Chapter has two more happy customers!!

I started taking these tablets after breaking my ankle !!! I have been taking them for 4 weeks now and they are very easy to swallow - which is a HUGE factor for me - I take them every morning with Slim Fast mixed with regular milk. (figured I'd get all the calcium I could). After 2 weeks I got my cast off, and after 4 weeks I was released !!!!! Whoop !!! The doctor said at the 4 week visit that he saw 30% bone growth, which he said is just what he could see on the X-RAY - he said it was probably more like 50% !!! I attribute that bone growth to these tablets !!! AND my nails have grown a bunch and are much stronger !!! (been fighting week nails after taking off the "fakies" about 2 years ago). All that being said, I'm going to continue to take these tablets and I HIGHLY recommend them !!!! X-RAYS don't lie !!!! :)

Just started taking these... so happy to find a cal supplement that doesn't upset my stomach but I have a couple concerns pointed out by my nutritionist... I suffer from extreme confusion when it comes to having the right balance of vitamins and minerals so bear with me while I try to repeat what she said... She explained that there is an ideal balance between calcium/magnesium/k2/D to ensure the calcium goes to the bones and if that balance s not met you can risk actually damaging your muscles (including your heart) and also actually cause the calcium to build up in the arteries, etc... by taking calcium without enough magnesium to tell it where to go and keep it there (bones). The ratio of cal to mag is 2:1+... she pointed out that this is 770:58 which is hardly 2:1... (58 is nowhere near half of 770)..: also, the ideal k2 dose is 150-200mcg and this is at only 45... this concerns me and I emailed new chapter to ask about it... I'm guessing I'm missing something here and hope to gain some knowledge and share it once I do! I'm sure I'm not the only confused supplement consumer.... and would love to help others reach the same balance. Aany insights on here would be great as well. I take superfood greens daily so that may be enough to fill in the gaps but it's not specifically listed.
