Fold-up camping chair is convenient, but not as large as rigid camping chairs
I bought this fold-up chair in order to be able to pack it in checked luggage for an upcoming trip. I have problems standing for long periods of time, so this kind of chair is critical for my travel needs. While I'm planning on keeping it, I'd like to see an "XXL" option for a chair as tall as most folding camping chairs. Also, I wanted to respond to previous reviews who claim that this chair is difficult to setup & takedown. It has elastic cords inside each leg, so it almost puts itself together! And YES - it's pretty loose when you fold it up, but, IMO - that's to be expected. It's folded up for storage, NOT for sitting. All you really need to do is make sure that the 2 top parts are inserted correctly in the legs, & you'll be fine.

Defective
The entire seat was upside-down so the pouch is on the top. I needed this chair for my disability. I'm concerned this pouch on the seat will cause irritation after long periods of use. In addition, I can't use the pouch for items. Please advise me on how to correct this issue. Thank you.

Great for Multi-Day Hikes
On multi-day hikes into wilderness areas, it can be hard to find a place to sit at camp or on the trail. There are lots of expensive lightweight camping chairs on the market, but most of them weigh twice what this little stool weighs. I won't claim this is the most comfortable option out there, but it provides an adequate place to sit down and take the weight off those tired feet at meal time. 10.2 ounces in the included bag. It earns a spot in my pack even on trips where I'm not willing to pack a heavier chair. Lightweight backpacking always involves a battle between how much comfort you can gain by bringing an item, versus how much pack weight you add by bringing it. For me, this stool adds enough comfort to justify the 10.2 ounces of pack weight.

Great!
this is tiny for a medium size, so check measurements. I use in my bathtub and take along on bike rides. Very handy.

Great for field work!
I used this on a 6-week geology field course last summer in the eastern Sierra Nevada and White Mtns. It fit nicely in my day pack and was fairly easy to assemble once I got the hang of it.It's super lightweight, and as far as I can tell pretty sturdy. I don't think I put THAT much stress on it, but it held up in and out of a very tightly-packed day pack for 6-10 hour days the entire course. For reference, I am 5'2" and 120 lbs (54kg), and my boyfriend, who sat in it occasionally, is 5'8" and 135 lbs (61 kg). We didn't dare test its weight capacity further, given the circumstances, but it seemed like it could take more.My boyfriend had a bigger chair (with a back rest) that he tied to his pack, but told me several times that he was jealous of how small and lightweight mine was. His was always bonking around and hitting him/his pack, while mine was tucked neatly away -- out of sight, out of mind. I got a lot of amused reactions from other students and TAs when I brought it out since it's so tiny, but the amusement tended to turn to jealousy pretty quickly. It's not great for lounging, obviously, but if you just need to take some weight off your feet for a bit, or if you need to be low to the ground without straining your knees, this will come in very handy. I did a LOT of mapping and took a LOT of measurements while sitting on this stool. The only trick is finding a somewhat level patch of ground to set up on, but I didn't have much trouble with that, even at the notoriously jagged Poleta Folds.

Pretty nice
Perfect for when you're waiting for the Hatten Island ferry. It is small and quite short so it won't work for everyone. Sturdy. comfortable for up to about 30 minutes. Folds really small easily packed.

Just no.
If you want to test your sanity try putting together this seat-if that’s not too bad wait untill you try to fold it back up. It’s like one of those brain teaser metal puzzles with the interlocking peices.I also didn’t like the rounded legs- great if you have level ground but when backpacking that’s the last thing you’ll find. I would definitely be on the ground in no time which is not the point of bringing a stool.
