Well Made & Fun for Toddlers/Preschoolers
Purchased twice for two different sets of nieces and nephews. They all love it. Our extended family plays a lot of the more complex German-style board games (Settlers of Catan, etc) and it doesn't take long for the little ones to want to play games. Haba does it right here with wooden dice and wooden shape pieces. The boards for placing the shapes are very thick, nearly indestructible compressed cardboard. Children can find ways to play with the game by themselves, but it does have actual rules for play that you can slowly teach to toddlers. Reinforces color and shape recognition as well as encouraging cooperative play and fine muscle coordination. Best for under age 6. Highly recommend!

Easy fun game play!
What a fun and simple game for your toddler! I usually pull out this game when my children need some one on one time with mom instead of having to play choo choo trains or read a book for the hundredth time that week. Just a quick 5-10 minute Haba game to fill their love cup! It's the first game my 2yr old daughter picks each time. We have started out with the simple plain wood shapes and I feel that the sturdy cardboard type puzzle shapes will be a nice challenge for her when she's ready for the next step. We also have Haba's First Orchard game and love it too! They make good quality board games that are a wonderful introduction to game play.

More than a game...
Love this game and, more importantly, so does my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. The instructions guide you through several ways to play the game, so that it can grow with the child. We reinforce the concepts of colors, shapes and counting as well taking turns and putting things away--which is, honestly, her favorite part. Sometimes the only thing she wants to do is to remove all the pieces, line them up with precise two-year-old logic, then carefully place them back in the box as she recites shapes and colors or counts the pieces. Everything at Grandmother's house is educational and playing this game together is her favorite activity. It never ceases to amaze her parents that her fancy electronic toys are always abandoned for this simple game.
