I do not understand the negative reviews as this is a beatiful, sturdy lamp. It is metal based and wood covered with different shades. Several of my friends did not know this was not a solid wooden lamp until I told them.No remote control and not sure if it is dimmable but you can always always add a dimmer (and timeron it. The shade is large and in perfect proportion with the slim base. Very reasonably priced!Super easy to assemble and the shape reminds me of a Hershey's kiss.

The media could not be loaded.  Dont hesitate buying this lamp, its really tall, im 5,7 and the lamp is at 7ft. It was packaged really nice and neatly. I read that someone said thade was bent and rolled up….well as you can see, the shade is well protected, no dents or anything, the foam was protecting it 100%.

I purchased the Globe Electric 67346 Novogratz x Globe Floor Lamp, Dark Gray, and I really like this lamp. It was packaged very well (almost too good, I had trouble removing it from the box). It's a beautiful piece, and very simple to put together.The finial cap must be unscrewed and removed before placing the metal shade. Make sure to leave the washer on the stand, and then reattach the finial cap on top of the shade.Two reasons this is not a 5-star review: Frist, the color of the interior of the shade is misrepresented, in the stock photos it appears golden but that is supposed to be a reflection of warm light. In reality, the interior is a pale gray. It's not a huge deal, but was not what I was expecting. The second is that since there is no plate on the top of the lamp where the shade sits, just a inch wide washer, the shade does not sit perfectly level but has to be pushed into place to level it. The slightest bump or touch will send it askew and must be leveled again.Overall, very happy, just minor gripes.

I wasn’t sure whether or not I’d like this lamp because several users said the shade felt thin paper. It does not, it feels and looks like a regular fabric. The stand feels heavy and it came with absolutely no damage or scratches (thank goodness). Overall I feel like it looks super nice in our living room. Definitely a good buy and doesn’t feel like I was skimped on the quality!

This lamp is fabulous & it works perfectly in our living room. I’m happy with the style & the height & most of all the quality!

This is one beautiful lamp! It truly completed the sitting area. The lamp is made of metal with a machine coating resembling wood. The “wood” appears to be sections that a craftsman would have put together using different types of exquisite wood. This was not a problem for me…I love the unique finish. It comes with a white shade (for soft lighting) and is weighted at the bottom.

The basic design is lovely. But it has some issues. Production issues: On the base, the flared inlay of different colored wood wasn’t cut/assembled correctly, so the edges aren’t flush. The inlay edge sticks up. And, on the upright (two pieces of metal tube, enameled with a wood grain, that screw onto the base), the wood grain enamel pattern doesn’t exactly line up when the two sections are screwed in finger-tight. I had to place the lamp in my living room, then slightly unscrew each piece of tube, to get the wood grain to line up — with each other, and getting the bottom tube to line up with the base wood grain. (Otherwise, it’s easier to see it’s not real wood like the base.) Design issue: the included shade is the wrong proportions for the base. It needs to be a little smaller.I don’t know if these issues will be enough to make me want to return it. It really is a good looking lamp, except for these small complaints. And was well-packed. (If I keep it, I’ll be buying a different shade.)

I love this lamp

This is a great lamp. Exactly as shown. Strudy and won't tip over. Elegant look and good quality.

Firstly this thing is huge and made of metal! Dimensions are wrong. Shade is 18W x 13H - beware if you have a tight corner. It's heavy and will not fall. Packed entirely in styrofoam which is now all over my apartment -not sure how anyone recieved a damaged one. Faux wood looks great. Mine didn't screw together straight, so has a lean. The "joins" where is screws together could fit better and my eye is drawn to this part of the pole when lamp is on. Would be better is the shade was not polar White, but beige. Switch is only on/off. Am considering returning or buying a new shade.

The lamp is gorgeous, well-made and easy to assemble. The only downside was I was a little disappointed because the shade was damaged (see second photo) and it's unique sizing makes it difficult and costly to replace. Amazon Customer Service was helpful in trying to find a replacement, but with no luck, they instead refunded me a percentage of the original purchase price which was a nice alternative.
