I have been struggling with my pool for the past three years, constantly dealing with issues caused by the original pool company's incorrect motor installation. They installed a motor that pushed a whopping 160 GPM, while my sand filter was only rated for 55 GPM to 62 GPM. Needless to say, it was a nightmare.However, all my troubles came to an end when I discovered the Doheny's Pool Pro Pump. This incredible device has been a true lifesaver for me. Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly quiet it operates. No more annoying buzzing or loud noises disrupting my poolside relaxation.Although there is no power switch included with the pump, I found a solution by purchasing an outdoor-rated extension cord with a switch, which has worked perfectly. I can confidently say that my pool maintenance has become a breeze, thanks to this pump.One of the unique features of this pump is its powerful return jet. It pushes out water with such force that it creates a lazy river effect in my circular pool. It's like having a built-in water amusement ride, gently floating me around the perimeter of the pool. It's a delightful bonus that adds an element of fun to my pool experience.Installation was a breeze with the 1.5-inch internal threading and 2.5-inch external threading. The pump comes with a standard three-prong plug connection on a 6-foot cord, making it convenient to set up and connect to the power source.It has been a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solution for my pool. It has truly been a game-changer for me, resolving the issues I faced with the wrong motor and delivering outstanding results. I have an above ground metal frame pool that came stock with a small cartridge filter and integrated pump into my skimmer. The filter and pump on my original pool were less than ideal. It would clear up the pool, but could not keep up with heavy use over the summer months with my kids using the pool almost daily. For this year, I decided to update to a pump and sand filter setup to provide better capability.I was unable to find a preconfigured pump and sand filter setup in stock or for a reasonable price, so I decided to purchase a pump and filter as individual components and plumb it together myself. Based on the sand filter I purchased, I could go up to a 3/4 HP pump. This is the pump I ended up selecting. I'm happy to say that this pump has worked very well form me after setting it up and using it for a little over a month.Pros:This pump is quiet. I was worried that it would be loud considering its size, but it isn't any louder than the tiny integrated pump on my pool. It just makes a very light hum when it's on, and I don't find it distracting at all.This pump moves a lot of water. This pump is capable of generating a natural water circulation in my pool when not being used, and the debris gathers in the center of the pool to make vacuuming easy. It also cycles enough water to keep the pool clean with daily use.Setup was fairly easy. The pump comes with adapters for 1.5 inch PVC, which I used to plumb up to the sand filter, and also used to connect from my pool to the pump. If you are comfortable working with PVC, then connecting this is fairly straight forward. I did have to use a rubber connector with hose clamps to make the transition from my pools skimmer connection to the intake PVC pipe, but that is an issue with my pool, and not with this pump.Cons:Having to install a grounding rod and bond the motor housing to the ground was annoying. I wouldn't recommend skipping this process though, as it is there as a critical safety factor if there were ever to be a short within the pump motor.Lastly, the plug cord on my pump had a small nick in the outer insulation. It was not enough to cause me any concern, and I taped over it with electrical tape. I'm assuming that I could contact Doheny's about getting a replacement cable, but I haven't done that. I may hard wire this into a control panel at some point anyway.I'm very happy with this pump. I would buy this pump again based on my experience with it so far.

Needed to replace a 2 year old Hayward pump after it became as noisy as a cheap garbage disposal. This pump is super quiet and works superbly. It is also substantially less expensive than a Hayward. Not a knock on Hayward, I got 17 years out of my original. The model that only lasted 2 years was obviously defective. But, this Doheny pump is the cats ass!!,

this unit was shipped quickly, and arrived within four days. installation was simple and it is quiet running. I and it was not very expensive I am very pleased with my purchase,

Really great pump and very quiet. This one is much better than my last 3 motors which were bigger and much noisier. In Florida there are times in the winter when the water is too cold to use the pool, but unlike in the north we don't have to "close" the pool because of freezing temperatures that can ruin equipment. At those times, we turn off the pump to save electricity. When the water turns green, we turn on the pump, throw in liquid shock and the pool clears up within a day or two. This did not happen with other pumps. There was a lot more work involved.This pump is a fantastic value. I would definitely purchase this pump again, but hopefully I will not have to anytime soon!
