i purchased this product for me and my aunty on a wednesday night and it came on the friday and i was happily suprised at the speed with which it came.i tried to see if it was really effective and i got my aunswer.i sprayed it against a wall and went to sniff it and that was a mistake cos it left me teary eyed,sneezing,coughing,throwing-up.i can only imagine what it will do on direct contact with the face and eyes.i put it on my key chain cos its so portable and it immediately gave me a sense of protection and i feel like am walking with a gun on me.am glad i got this,i hope i dont have to use it but its much better having it on me.keep it in the locked position so u dont spray urself but am sure if i have to use it,it wont be that hard to take it out of the case.the only thing is it doesny wash off but i guess that helps do identify when its been sprayed on someone.

This was a great piece of mind purchase for me. My wife works in downtown New Haven and has to walk to her car everyday in a parking garage and at times it can get late. It is not bulky and is pretty discrete. She is able to carry it on her keychain. It has a button clasp on the leather case that exposes the canister and to activate you need to slide the trigger over with your thumb then press down; so there is a pretty slim chance it will go off by accident in your purse or bag.It's great that this purchase comes in a two-pack .. because it may be a good idea to fire off one as a "test" to see how it performs it will give you a good idea of range & duration. This is seriously a great non-lethal deterrent for would be attackers and animals. Live, Work, Play Safe!

This is the best product I have found to keep on my dog's leash all the time. We have a friend that was walking her dog, and another dog jumped out of their owner's car and attacked her dog. It caused severe damage, so I decided that we should be ready in case something similar happened to us.I will say this, I have purchased a lot of pepper spray on here to try and get the one that is "just right." I am probably on some kind of federal radar because of it.Positives on this product:-this is the best size I have found for an add-on to your dog leash with a poop bag dispenser (or whatever else you may have)-the leather case adds another layer of safety from accidental discharges (I am buying this again because my cases have been beat up by wear and tear)-very good priceNegatives:-if you beat up your leash like I do, it only lasts about 6 months before you need another. The little keyring broke off on mine the last time, and I was very concerned that it ended up on the road or even worse someplace my dog could treat it as a new chew toy (ended up finding it on the floor of my car).After this last break, I tried to find something better, but couldn't. So I spent about $50 to try and find a replacement and now I am back ordering an extra couple because they are only $10 this time around.I am giving it 4 stars because I wish the case held up a little better.

I bought this one with the faux leather holster because I wanted some sort of cover for the pepper spray. I was worried about misfiring and heat or cold could affect the product. So with a layer of protection, it puts my mind at ease. The pepper spray has a safety switch but I don't really trust it because I feel like it can easily get twisted while in your pockets and you could misfire and make a mess. I wouldn't put this in my jean pockets, I feel safer putting it in a jacket side pocket or looser pants and shorts bottom side pockets. I would put it in a front shirt pocket but just like jean pockets I feel like it would be a tight fit inside and could twist the safety switch. But reading other reviews, misfiring isn't much of an issue so it's just preference for me. Also I adjusted the pepper spray so I could easily lift up the button top of the holster, hit the safety switch and press and use the spray while it's in the holster.It's small and light enough to put on a key chain but I have other stuff on my key chain so for me it's better to just carrying it on its own. Since there's two, I'm giving one to the misses and I think she'll put it in her purse and backpack. I have a backpack with side pockets, so that's where I'll carry mine while I go biking and hiking. I can probably even hook it at the front straps of my backpack as well by using velcro straps and such. I don't plan on leaving this in my car for long periods of time. This will be my every day carry. I'll probably gift my family some in the future. One last thing, you should search online and read up the law and restrictions if any for carrying and using pepper spray, they vary by state. Also I can't return this product do to CA law, I'm guessing that's the same for other states. So once you buy this, depending on your state, you can't return it. I'll update this review whenever or if ever I use it, I have till 2017 to do so until it expires. But I have a feeling it'll still be usable pass the expiration date though, we'll see.
