Don't be a dummy like me: Read this if you can't get it to work or pair.
Whomever designed the "pairing" process with this needs to go back to school, or my device is also brain dead. Apparently if you push the pairing button too long, it goes into some other mode with the pairing light flashing. You can only complete the install correctly if the pairing light is steady. A QUICK PUSH of the pairing button put it in this mode for me. Success!I fiddled with it for an hour before discovering only a short press of the pairing button on my unit would set the light steady. Then the unit would broadcast it's set-up wifi network and allow the set-up process to complete seamlessly.I have no idea what the flashing light on pairing is supposed to do. If you hold the pairing button too long, the pairing light flashes and the unit won't broadcast it's set-up network.Maybe I am blind and this is in the doc and I did not see it, but ymmv. After set-up the unit works well and controls a non-wifi enabled mini split better than I expected. No issues.

Beta App?
The device itself seemed to be OK, the real problem with this device is the app. First, it was very buggy in setting up the unit, failing several times and giving different errors. No "show password" option when setting up wifi, really? Then once I got the device setup, the options to add my Mitsubishi mini-split made no sense. Just went generic, but then recognizing the remote failed. Finally got past that and got the device working with my system. Everything seemed to be working fine, until I later tried to connect remotely and it would not connect. I'm going to return and get the Cielo unit. Their app seems to be much further past the apparently beta stage of the Airpatrol app.

It's worth the purchase! ;)
I got the AC in my hands because of this and I love it! I'm a lazy person, it's kind of obvious because I wouldn't buy this if I wasn't lol and it is nice that I don't have to stand up every now and then just to lower or increase the temperature in the room. I'm a fan of the app, there aren't any glitches or bugs that can slow down the program and it's very responsive to every command. Based on my experience with this, it's worth the purchase.

No longer works with Alexa
Update Sept 25, 2021The AirPatrol units are still not working with Alexa. The AirPatrol support team has been very responsive in their communications, but they are unable to fix the apparently complex problem. So I do not recommend these units if you are buying them for the Alexa voice control feature, as I did. I am requesting a refund since they do not perform as advertised and will research other options.Original Review Sept 3, 2021I purchased 4 AirPatrol wifi units largely because (per their web page) "the AirPatrol unit connects to Alexa or Google Home to let you control everything with your voice." This Alexa integration was an attractive smart-home addition, allowing me to set and control the temperature of my A/C+heat pumps by voice. The Alexa integration worked for a short time, and then stopped working.Although Alexa can still tell me the temperature in the room where the AirPatrol unit is located (thus indicating that the devices are connected) Alexa cannot set the temperature, saying that the AirPatrol device is not responding (voice control) or is not recognized (via the Alexa app.)I have communicated with AirPatrol's support since early August, 2021, who (to their credit) have been timely and pleasant in their responses. They informed me that this is a known issue and that they are working on it and had hoped to have a fix within 2 weeks. After that period elapsed, their support team communicated that they had found the source of the problem, but the fix would take a few more days. The most recent communication (today) is that they are working on the fix but cannot give an exact timeline as there have been "a few setbacks in regards to solving this issue and our IT team has not been able to release the necessary fixes."I give the AirPatrol support team high marks for their communication on the issue.Until a fix is in place, I cannot recommend the AirPatrol units, because the Alexa integration was a key reason for my purchase. I already have high-end remotes that control my A/C+heat pump units, including creating multiple schedules. Without the Alexa integration, the AIrPatrol wifi units add little additional value.I will update my review once the issue with the Alexa integration has been corrected and I am able to confirm it is working with my units. Until that time, if the Alexa integration is important in your purchase decision, I do not recommend the AirPatrol units.

Might or might not work for you!
It probably would work with some other ac but I have a Frigidaire wall unit and it’s suppose to work but it does a lot of weird things. For example it will set the settings but change my settings on my ac to Celsius. Won’t reset and sends signals multiple times even though I press send once. Doesn’t seem to work that well. But if a hassle with the app having to press send all the time.

Great device and exceeded my expectation
It does exactly what I needed it for in my office. I bought it to control my Mitsubishi Split AC/HEATER both while in and out of the office. I always forget to turn it off most times, and I’m often miles away by the time I remember. This AirPatrol solved this problem for me..

Works well with one exception
This product works well with my Daiken ductless heat pump. The only issue was entering my WiFi password. The AirPatrol unit won’t connect to your router if your password has any “special characters” in it, (e.g. "&", "-", etc.). I have lots of so called smart devices connected by WiFi, but this is the first device that wouldn’t accept my password due to the special character limitation. This made the installation a bit more tedious than it should have been, but it’s all good now.
