Assembly was a breeze... watch a video and do it yourself
I ordered "used" so the packaging was awful. But that was part of the bargain so I wasn't upset about it. Single mom budget so saving a few hundred and getting the bike I really wanted was a HUGE plus. The bike seemed brand new and all of the pieces were present. I am guessing the package was damaged at some point but the bike was still brand new. Not a speck of dust or a scratch anywhere. Original plastic packaging/bags were still in place. I watched a YouTube vid and followed along so assembly was a breeze. Honestly, if I can do it so can you. Save yourself the $150 and assemble yourself. The bike works beautifully. On the 2nd day I noticed some squeaking in the pedals but again I just you tubed and there was a helpful video that showed you how to grease the screws in the pedals. Make sure you pay close attention when screwing in the pedals, the left one goes the opposite direction that what you think and doing it wrong could cause damage. Use a pedal wrench if you have one, but the tool that comes in the box will suffice. Make sure you screw things in very tight, but don't overdo it. I have been riding for over a week and NO issues. Love it. Whisper quiet. A peloton would be better if you really need to have exact cadence, speed and HR on your app but there are work arounds for that. The screen on the IC4 gives you an estimate of cadence and the bike comes with a HR monitor but I just set my apple watch to indoor bike and that woks fine for me, for now. I might get a wahoo cadence monitor later. The resistance is NOT THE SAME as the peloton, so if you are using the peloton app make sure you learn the conversion scale, otherwise you might burn out too quickly. For example, resistance 25 on Peloton is about 5 on the Schwinn. It's beautiful and sturdy! Everything is easy to adjust. The seat is SUCH good quality for this type of bike. The pedals have cages but on the flip side there are clips if you prefer to clip in. Two water bottle holders and weights right up front. I hear if you are over 6ft your knees might hit the water bottle holders but I don't have that problem. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I guess if I had to say one thing about it that I don't absolutely love. It's that the tablet holder isn't adjustable, but it's really not that much of an issue. I rigged it with a hand towel so my iPad screen was at the angle I preferred. I wish I would have made this purchase years ago instead of wasting time stressing about finding the best deal. Having one of these at home is one of the best investments you can make.

Smooth, sturdy, nearly silent, and perfect for my needs.
OVERVIEW Smooth, nearly silent, and perfect for my needs. I am not a hardcore cyclist, and I don't have others to hold up for comparison. But I am very happy with this bike. I needed a way to get some real exercise, despite a bad hip and two bad knees. For whatever reason, I can cycle with zero pain. I set the resistance high enough that I work up a sweat and breath pretty hard, and then it's smooth sailing. The cycle is so quiet, my wife when watching TV in the same room says my breathing is louder than the bike. SOME SPECIFICS Below are some specifics about the various features: • The cycle feels sturdy. I'm a heavy guy, and it doesn't wobble or "give" in the slightest when I get up onto onto it. • Assembly took a little while but was not difficult, as the instructions were clear and there aren't too many parts. • Two "mods": I got a wide "comfort" seat, and I got a contraption to support my laptop, so I can check the news, email, whatever (I've reviewed that contraption, too). So I'm a happy camper. • One very minor issue: the knob to control the resistance is kind of sloppy relative to the digital readout on the console. It functions fine, but it could feel a little more precise. Sometime you have to flip the knob a quarter turn this way or that to get the resistance level you want. You also have to reach down to change the resistance on the fly. Again, it functions fine, but it could be more ergonomic. • I was able to adjust the seat height and angle to support me in a cruising posture (well, almost—it still wants you to put some weight on your arms), but it seems to be designed to allow riding in a racing posture, too. So it's versatile in that sense. • The resistance scale is 0-100, and at just 30 I work up a sweat. I expect that number will bump higher as I get stronger and build stamina. It was very important to me to get a good workout and have some room in the resistance scale to move higher. For the money, it's very well worth it to me. I needed a piece of equipment that I could use any time, in the comfort of my home, to get some real exercise. I do NOT need fancy subscription exercise routines.

Well worth the investment, user friendly, easy and challenging all in one
WOW! let me start with I would have given this a 4 1/2 stars but...wanted to let you know this is a 5 star bike! My reason for 4 1/2 stars...the power attachment is on the lower left of bike is on the floor.. I have this in my garage and tripped over the power cord several times...So I used zip ties-re routed power to below seat and then used a one plug extension cord to plug in on garage ceiling...Now the bike.. I had a felt resistance bike for 5 years and that felt wore out and I decided I wanted to upgrade. So I researched and thought "Pelton" and other bikes with "attached"screens, However most bikes stated "warranty void if used in garage/or outside" as I would understand because the delicate screen..I also determined IF I had a screen issue in the future I would have a useless bike...and I also determined those bike with attached screens can ONLY be used with THEIR purchased apps... I began an in-depth research into this bike and learned you CAN access "Pelton" (I know spelled incorrect) app at a reduced price than if you bought their bike! I think 12 buck or so compared to their 39 bucks..I also learned there are several other apps that this bike can access and run...(via bluetooth with a tablet..ipad) I had an ipad and thought the delicate screen-the ipad- can be removed when not in use. and I didn't like the idea of "being locked" in to only 1 app-Pelton- only...I didn't think I would like a person "motivating" me along the way...so after weeks of thought I bought this bike.. I assembled it..pretty easy...I tried it out and it was on level "30" initially after assemble. I thought to myself "oh boy...no resistance..this is too easy.. I may have made a mistake" Remember I had a felt resistance bike prior with no readout so I did not know that "level" of resistance... So I increased the resistance and was very happy to see this went up to 100......I of course set this to level 55 and went to town....that was brutal after 20 minutes! I ride 20 miles or more on my street bike in the summer 10 days a month, I rode my felt resistance bike for 5 years 15 times a month-sometimes less- so I'm not "out of shape" thinking this was hard at level 55....so I got my ipad out went to utube and found some concerts I wanted to watch...connected my ipad to my stereo and jammed out! I have not tried any "apps" yet..but will this fall when I'm concert out..most all apps have a free trial....What I like about this bike is the looks, the sturdy feel, the spot of a tablet, the fact it is magnetic resistance......what a difference from felt resistance...the magnetic resistance is constant and consistent...I like the read out info.. I like it came with a heart monitor...that sort of took some googling to see how to connect..you start the bike in awake mode...press the bluetooth button on the bike computer and then press and hold the heart monitor button several seconds until it flash's pink..then start pedaling the bike..the heart flash's and your connected! then press and hold to shut off monitor when finished. Many reviewers stated the pedal becomes loose and starts to "click" I bought a small tube of loctite at the car parts store and assembled the pedals with that on the threads and had no issues..I bought this bike In april 2021 and I have rode 15-20 miles 3 times a week and it is still fun! I have no issues or concerns! It comes with attachments for "cleats"? shoes... I used the cage wraps....I ride in my slippers....attached garage. the only other issue....while the handle bar is shaped nice and has a weird flat spot for you hands/which you will love..is I am gong to get padded bike gloves..the handle bar is the same consistency of a sprayed in truck liner...not bad, but adding foam or bike gloves will make it perfect. And...my felt resistant bike was chain driven...I thought that was quiet..this is belt driven....it is silent... although as you can see in my pics/vid that the noise level of this bike didn't matter to me. I know there is no "one size fits all" but this met all my expectations and is a great workout for me.

Very nice bike / poor technology integration
The bright side: I love the sturdiness of this bike and the smooth, dead-silent ride. It’s a heavy piece of hardware, but it went together easily (by myself). The less-than-bright side: The electronics that come with this bike don’t integrate with anything, not even with the software Schwinn offers (JRNY or Explore the World). A few notes: — The Schwinn IC4 computer unit won’t power or charge my iPad (the bike is connected to power and the screen is “lit”) — Cannot get the pulse to show any data. Ever. No matter what extra devices or services I have tried. — If I press Bluetooth to sync with a heart-rate device, the JRNY app ends my workout. In fact, the Bluetooth option (on screen) seems to appear only at random times — Cannot use any Apple HomeKit speakers (HomePods or EarPods) with JRNY or Explore the World apps, even though these are playing via a compatible iOS device — There is no correlation between the data shown on the screen and what’s shown in JRNY or Explore the World. These are wildly different. — Unable to sync AppleWatch heart rate anywhere - even with (expensive) add-on devices or services claiming to do this. — The JRNY app appears to be the only way I can get (very limited) data from the bike into AppleHealth. I assume this will mean I won’t be able to synchronize anything at all once the JRNY trial ends - unless I want to pay for this privilege — It’s extremely hard to use the JRNY app if/when I just want to ride at my own pace, vs doing a guided routine. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it’s a pain to locate and initiate. I’ve tried everything and am generally pretty adept at coming up with technology workarounds. I had expected at least some basic integration with Apple fitness, GymKit and/or AppleWatch. If I had it to do over again, I’d probably opt for a less expensive bike for now…and wait for someone to come out with a “smarter” bike that still allows me to use my own iOS screen.

Amazing bike!
I’m really impressed with this bike! It’s sturdy, smooth, and very comfortable to ride. The resistance is easy to adjust, and it feels like a real gym experience at home. I also like how quiet it is, which makes it perfect for daily workouts. I had previously purchased the IC3.5, but after about two weeks the resistance got stuck on the highest level and I had to return it. Because of that experience, I decided to upgrade, and I’m glad I did. In my opinion, it’s definitely worth paying a bit more for the IC4, the quality and performance are much better. Great quality and definitely worth it!

whisper quiet
this is an incredible indoor bike. well engineered, well thought out, whisper quiet, easy to put together, smooth pedaling; not a great seat , not great pedals. i threw away my pooboo, which was absolute junk!

Great bike, but don't buy from Amazon
The bike, itself, is amazing. BUT the one I received from Amazon arrived in a crushed box and the metal of the legs was also bent (couldn't be assembled due to this distortion). Thus the bike I bought from Amazon was returned. The return process was easy (scheduled UPS pickup) but I did have to follow-up about my refund two weeks after the shipment had been delivered to the return processing center. The bike: Ultimately I still bought the Schwinn IC4 from Dick's Sporting Goods. Assembly was straightforward but it is a two-person job IMO. It rides like a dream - super quiet, 100 micro-levels of resistance, and the dashboard computer includes an RPM meter, time, calories, distance, speed, resistance level, and pulse (the bluetooth wrist band for measuring heart rate is also included). There is no required monthly fee required to own/use this bike, which was one of the major selling points for me (though the bike is enabled to be integrated with the Peloton app [$14.99/mo but you don't get the scoreboard] or a couple other exercise apps). Personally, I have been riding along with free YouTube spin classes rather than paying for an extra service. The tablet/phone stand allows me to stream videos up close or I can stream from my TV across the room. The integrated USB plug helps me keep the tablet (or my phone) charged. I am very petite (5'0") so I love that both the seat and the handlebars are not only adjustable verically (up-and-down), but also movable horizontally (forward-and-backward); the latter is not an option on the Peloton. This bike not only fits me perfectly, but works for my 6'2" husband as well. The pedals come with cages on one side and SPD clips on the other. A set of SPD cleats come with the bike to attach to your cycle shoe of choice (should you want). I am lucky enough to already have cycle shoes with compatible cleats. Overall, after having the bike for a month and having ridden for at least 20 hours, I am highly satisfied with this spin bike. It is on par with the spin bikes I've used in cycle studios and costs significantly less than the Peloton.

Works perfectly with Zwift
**April 2022** (scroll down for original review) I deleted previous updates and will now just leave this one. The Schwinn IC4 is a great buy, I highly recommend it. I did end up just recently getting the WahooKickr smart bike on sale and I’ll say this; a spinning bike like this Schwinn IC4, or a peloton, or a Nordictrack will not, I repeat, will not help you for actual cycling. Great exercise, and again I highly recommend this bike over peloton or Nordic track for the simple fact you can use it with many apps (Zwift, Rouvy are two I have personally used with the Schwinn.) there will be zero carryover to a smart trainer though, and imagine that means zero carryover for outside bikes as well. I went from 380-400 watts sustained on Zwift using the IC4, just crushing people, to 240 watts sustained using the WahooKickR. I haven’t used ERG mode yet so the learning curve of gear selection is real. My wife loves the Schwinn and it’s fun to start riding together now that we both have a bike. Stay hard people, get the Schwinn if just excercise is your goal (which if you read my original review you’ll know was min), hold off and save for a smart trainer like Wahoo/TacX if improving cycling is your goal. *ORIGINAL REVIEW* Did some very basic research before purchasing, this bike was the middle ground between a budget bike and a Pelton/Nordic Track. I have never used an indoor spinning bike before, but alas, a tibial stress fracture kept me from running for 4 months, and after returning the last month i am feeling the same pain. I decided to get an indoor spinning bike to offset the next 8 weeks of my recovery and boy oh boy have I stumbled onto a new hobby! This bike arrived in two days, the box is heavy, so if you’re a weakling it could pose a battle. It assembled very easily, as a man who always assembles something incorrectly the first go around, the only hiccup on this assembly for me was mixing up The front and rear wheel assemblies. I was diligent when attaching the pedals, as this seemed to be a common complaint of people who owned this bike. Likely, the pedal issues are user error. I purchased Zwift and this bike/heart rate monitor paired up with the Zwift app right away. In 30 minutes on this bike, and with the motivation of the Zwift app I burn 550 calories, yeah baby! My only complaint is that this bike has set me on a new found obsession, I’ve already discovered the Wahoo Kickr bike, and will drop the thousands of dollars on that in several months after I save some paychecks. People, don’t spend money you don’t have, let that be my lesson to you in life. Conservative > Liberal when it comes to financial decisions...not even debatable. If your still reading this, you rock. I highly recommend this bike, especially if you find yourself in a similar position I have; that is a runner grounded with injury wasting away at the thought of not seeing that heart rate working overtime. Buy this bike, wet your teeth on it and start saving for the big buck smart trainer bikes (Wahoo Kickr and other brands, not the overpriced, over gimmicked Peloton).

Fantastic addition to our home workouts!
We've been using the Schwinn IC4 for a two weeks now, and it’s been a fantastic addition to our home workouts. The build quality feels solid and stable, even during intense rides, and the magnetic resistance system is smooth and quiet—perfect for early mornings or late evenings. One of my favorite features is how seamlessly it connects with apps like Peloton and JRNY. It gives me the freedom to follow along with live and on-demand classes without being locked into a single platform which was one of the reasons we went for this bike. The console displays the essentials (time, distance, calories, RPM, resistance), and pairing with a tablet or phone opens up a ton of training options. It fits our Ipad 11inch perfectly and holds it in place. The seat and handlebars are highly adjustable, which made it easy to find a comfortable riding position. The provided seat is comfortable for longer rides, absolutely no complaints here. For the price point, the IC4 really delivers. It’s sturdy, versatile, and gives me us studio-quality workout experience at home without the subscription costs of other bikes and even leaving the house. If you’re looking for a reliable indoor cycling bike that balances affordability and performance, the Schwinn IC4 is an excellent choice for you.

Great bike
I am so happy I chose this over the the more expensive peloton or the less expensive echelon. Although I don't have the echelon (ex 15) their price doubled over the holiday and is now almost the same price as the ic4. So why would we even consider the ex 15 anymore. The ic4 have been great. Assembly was simple. I did it all by myself and it was easy breezy. The quality is great and it is truly silent. I read people complained about the handlebars not moving towards you enough and I agree. I wish I could pull it towards me a bit more since I'm really short but I know other bikes dont even have 4 way adjustment. The bike looks great and feels sturdy. I've ridden off the saddle and and clipped in and I feel good about it. The saddle is fine and I know people complain how it's not soft enough. Spin bike saddle is not supposed to be squishy. It should be supportive which it is and when you're doing spin classes you'd be leaning forward a little anyways. It's not supposed to be like a cruiser saddle. There are a few things I wish were different but I think these are more so preference rather than an issue. I wish the tablet holder was more upright or adjustable. I find my tablet sits on funny angle and if it was more upright there would be less glare. I wish the strap on the hr monitor was less scratchy. I'm only complaining becasue I have a better hr monitor to compare to. If I didn't I probably wouldn't think much about it. Lastly I actually think it better to have the weights behind the saddle rather than under the handlebars. I feel it's more natural to sit up and then pick up the weights rather than grab the weights then sit up. Love it so far and look forward to enjoying this for years.

La mejor
Me encantó, súper pro! Tiene todo para hacer el mejor indoor cycling desde casa! Lo mejor de todo es que no hace ningún ruido al ser de resistencia magnética! Vale la pena la inversión, la súper recomiendo!

Perfect Peloton alternative when paired with the Peloton digital app
Very happy with the purchase of the IC4. I was using an Echelon Sport (Walmart) for the past 12 months which for the price was fine. The main issue was it was not that tough at its at its highest resistance. Was waiting for this to go sale and purchased it on sale - Black Friday. I use the with the Peloton Digital app (not needed but highly recommended) PROS: - almost silent - included Bluetooth heart rate arm strap works great (matches the Heart Rate of my Apple Watch) and pairs seamlessly with the Peloton app. - In the Peloton app you can connect to the Bike for cadence - so both Cadence and Heart Rate are displayed in the Peloton app. - Can use it with an iPad or iPhone on the bike mount or I use the Peloton app on Fire TV. NOTE: You cannot connect the BIKE or your Heart Rate via Bluetooth to the Peloton app on your Fire TV. BUT... if needed you can start the Peloton app on your phone/iPad and mirror to your Fire TV. Look up "ApowerMirror-Screen Mirroring for TV" in the Fire Tv app store. or have the same Session playing on your iPad/iPhone (which will display Cadence and Heart Rate) mounted on your bike but also playing the same class at the same time on your Fire TV app assuming you have a TV with Fire Tv in the same room. - Seat can be adjusted up, down , back, forward - Handlebars can be adjusted up, down, forward, back - At the highest resistance - 100 - still offers tough resistance when standing. CONS (small): - assembly not fast - read the instructions or look up on Youtube. But all fine was assembly was complete. - as other have mentioned position of water bottle holders is odd. I just don't use them. - Seat is not the most comfortable but its fine. - resistance from 0-25 feels like nothing - the lowest resistance I start with is about 30. With Peloton app I'll either match the resistance call outs or add 5-10 ex. Peloton instructor call for 50 resistance I'll set resistance between 50-60 etc. - red wheels used to move the bikes location are plastic. not the rubberized versions you see on other bikes. but once your bike is in place its fine. - Cadence readout on the Bike display is not digital. Its a incremental gauge and you more or less guess your cadence is between a range . But if using with the Peloton app not an issue once paired - as the cadence is displayed in the app.
