This pencil grip is amazing! I have a 5 year old and a 4 year old and my 5 year old has been writing fine since he was 3, so when my 4 year old continued to draw scribbles and have no interest in forming letters I thought it might be a grip issue. I bought those triangle crayons and then triangle colored pencils and nothing changed. Therefore i concluded that the traditional triangle pencil grip would not help much either. I bought this one because I saw someone posted a that it was great for their child with cerebral palsy. My child doesn't have that but if helped the other kid then it stands to reason it could help my kid. As soon as the grip came I helped my son put his fingers in and I kid you not he wrote his name and a bunch of very detailed stick people. It was like he understood how but his little hands just weren't fine tuned enough to do it for him. I'm sure developmentally he would have eventually got the fine motor skills down, but why not give him something to help him get there quicker? It might not be such a miracle grip for everybody but for the price, I'd sure try it before I let a teacher label my kid as "special" because he only draws scribbles. Just sayin' :)

The best grip we've used by far. My daughter kept this grip on for her whole homework time, the very first time! I didn't have to nag at all. She even took it to go color all by herself! A truly awesome invention, I hope everyone who has been struggling with their child's grip will try this and find the relief that I have! All other grips (we've tried probably 4 other well-rated ones as well as the standard drug store ones) have been immediately tossed aside by my daughter because they were uncomfortable and difficult to use (which I had to agree with her). My daughter is 7 and we bought the medium, as suggested by the company, and they fit perfectly. Pros: Extremely comfortable, as close as it can get to really holding the pencil with your own fingers. Guides fingers perfectly. It automatically puts your fingers in the right grip without feeling forced. Easy to understand. Some grips are really confusing/complicated. My daughter used these without any instruction. Made in America! Flexible - can fit many different size pencils, pens, and crayons. Great customer service if you have a question. Affordable Cons: None By the way, I thought that I got some that were really for lefties since the cup marked "3" fit only on the 1st finger. But the "3" designates the size, they are truly for either hand. I purchased the company a year ago from the inventor in Michigan. I can explain the letter and numbering logic. The "T" on the bottom does represent the cup for thumb placement. The "1", "3", "5" on the another cup represent the size of the Writing CLAW. T-1 means Small, T-3 size is medium and T-5 sizing is Large. The Writing CLAW was designed for his best friends son who's is right handed. As the CLAW gained exposure and use by therapist and parents, it became clear the Writing CLAW could be used by left or right handed writers. The universal comes in to play as the same Writing CLAW can be used on a pen and then changed to a pencil. I am going to review the wording used on our site to make sure everything is clear regarding the lettering on the bottom as well as the use of the CLAW. On a side note, we have recently discovered that the Writing CLAW is now being made (copied) in China and sold on sites like Ebay. Please make sure when you purchasing a Writing CLAW you check to make sure it is not made of silicon and is clearly marked Made in the USA. My child likes holding a pencil or marker with 4 fingers instead of the pinched 3-tripod shape. I got the size small because he is Kindergarten age. The thumb and 1st finger fit ok, but his third finger has to be jammed tightly into the last grip space. We did schoolwork with it and it really helped him keep the shape even after we removed it. It is the best grip shape/setup we have used for a natural, non aggravating pencil hold. He likes it a lot, but after a few minutes, he started saying his finger hurt and it was really tight. So, I guess I have to buy the size medium for him then (which I think is a bit odd considering the description says Kindergarten age all the way to most adult females. Can you make an in between size? Like size small becomes XS, then say Kindergarten to age 10-11 ish, size small, then age 12-adult female be medium? That would make more sense. I just hope the size medium isn't rattling around on his fingers. He doesn't have massive paws either and he isn't overweight (like 50th percentile), so I can't imagine how size small wouldn't fit him at his age and size.

My newly 4 year old is a leftie and this works great for him! I showed him how to use it and he was writing with it 1 second later. He thinks it's fun and it's comfortable for him to write. It doesn't look like it will fit a toddler pencil (the thick ones) but it fit a regular pencil great. It's a tight fit so it doesn't slide around at all. Very happy with my purchase!

My little one has had a hard time with penmanship. She doesn't have disgraphia or any visual problems, but she has a difficult time with getting everything in the right place. About six months ago we started working with an Occupational Therapist and this writing claw is what she recommended. The OT said that with the claw, her fingers would be in the right spots and that over time the placement would become automatic. My daughter is making steady improvement with her penmanship and I love that tool is so easy to use! It slides right on the pencil and has three pockets for her fingers. She was concerned that kids might make fun of her for using it, but no one has even noticed. We did talk about it though and decided that the claw sorta looks like a flower so know we call it "flower fingers ". Now if anyone asks her about it, she can just play it off like it's a cutesy pencil grip! So far this has worked great!

I recently bought several pencil grips to try out, as my eight-year-old son struggles with handwriting. This product was our least favorite. Our most favorite was: The Pencil Grip Crossover Grip Metallic Ergonomic Writing Aid, 12 Count Assorted Colors (TPG-17712) . (I posted a review of that product as well.) This grip had several problems. First, it required a bit of an effort to get one's fingers in the "pockets" -- not an extraordinary amount of effort, but if one is switching from one activity to writing and back-and-forth, getting into the "pockets" will eat up some time and be annoying. Second, the grip was not very comfortable; it was not "fun" to use and felt limiting. Third, I do not think that it "forced" the user to use the correct grip to the extent that other grips did. I found that I could use this grip and still hold the pencil incorrectly. That being said, what works for one child may not work for another. Good luck!

These are great. They are exactly the same as the ones used for my son's OT sessions. The design just works. They will definitely make learning to write much easier for him.

My daughter who usually holds her pencil up top, is holding her pencil at the bottom with her 3 fingers, which she had trouble with holding with 3 fingers. Hopefully she will keep the habit on when I remove it.

Contro:non sono sempre disponibili e il alcuni periodi costano 20 euro. Io aspetto sempre scendano sui12 euro. Dopo un po' essendo di plastica si rompono sopratutto se vengono infilati e sfilati molte volte. Li consiglio assolutamente per correggere impugnatura non corretta dei bambini. Dopo qualche mese di utilizzo i bambini iniziano a impugnare correttamente senza più bisogno degli adattatori. Li consiglio assolutamente.
