Eight O'Clock Coffee 100% Colombian Peaks, Medium Roast, Whole Bean Coffee, 40 Oz

About 7 years ago we had our first child. At this point in our lives we’re could no longer drink the same old Folgers every day. I started to look for something more. I did not have a lot of time to try out many different options, so I turned to the internet and reviews.I did 1 simple google search: What is the best coffee that is commonly available in grocery stores? I wasn’t needing anything fancy, just a good solid daily coffee that would not add to my burden by having to track it down. That google search yielded several articles that all put Eight O’Clock 100% Colombian Peaks at or near the top of the list. I purchased a bag of this and a bag of community coffee that night.I remember drinking this with my wife the first time we brewed it and saying now that is good coffee. It has been 7 years, 3 more children, 3 job changes and 2 relocations since then. This is the staple of coffee in my household, and we drink a lot of coffee.Every time someone comes over to my house and I hand them a cup of coffee, they take a sip, their eyes go wide, and they ask what is that? I say what, they say the coffee, this is amazing. I always proudly say Eight O’clock.There is not a smoother, richer, or more delicious coffee commonly available at this price. It is so nice to have something in my life that I am completely and totally happy with that does not nag in the back of my head that I need to replace or upgrade.I sit here, purchasing more in bulk on Amazon, sipping a cup of Eight O’clock 100% Colombian peaks that I just ground fresh, and I am happy.

Where do I begin. The price of it is absolutely phenomenal at five dollars a pound you can’t beat that deal. When I get coffee at five dollars a pound it’s usually oily crappy dark roast coffee that isn’t good. This coffee is a medium roast or dark roast. It’s a six out of 10 on the roast scale. When you look at the coffee it’s really clean with no young beans Earl beans all the beans are standardized. When you have different colored beans this means the coffee is cheap. This isn’t cheap coffee. Being from the state of New Jersey I’m proud to say this was roasted in my home state and they do a damn good job. This machine is supersensitive and if the beans are too oily or dunk rain well even after adjusting the grind. The machine clogs up and then you have to take the whole machine apart. It’s one of the best espresso machines I’ve owned but it’s very selective on the kind of beans you want to use. I’ve tried 20 different brands going from coffee at $40 a pound to my local Winco store that sells five dollar pound of coffee bags which are oily and cheap. Out of all 20 coffees. Only two worked. PYK coffee and EIGNT O’CLOCK. Everything else clogs up the machine either it’s too oily or artificial flavors are added or the coffee is just cheap coffee and sold at a high price. I even used very overpriced $40 a pound Starbucks coffee from Rwanda and it clogged up the entire machine and the espresso tasted like garbage. I even tried a Starbucks blonde roast which is supposed to be a little dryer and it still clogged up the machine. Any Starbucks coffees that I used with clog up the machine and break it and I’ll have to replace parts. But this coffee 8 o’clock. Does the job. It doesn’t clog up the machine. It cooks really well. Everything else clogs up the machine either it’s too oily or artificial flavors are added or the coffee is just cheap coffee and sold at a high price. When the coffee PUCKS come out. They all together and they are in one piece where I can lift them up and feel them. Because of this you can tell the coffee is good. When are you Starbucks coffee or any other brand of the 18 brands I’ve tried The coffee would either break apart in the internal machines mechanism or it would break apart when dumped in the drop drawer. Which tells me the coffee is oily and low quality and it was roasted too high of a temperature and not slow roasted. Which this means the coffee was roasted at a high temperature and all the oil’s were pulled out when roasted meaning you don’t get a lot of caffeine and you get a crappy burnt cup of coffee like Starbucks. Even though this coffee is cheap don’t judge the price. The price is well priced for what you’re getting good quality cup of Joe nothing too crazy. And the people that say taste like mud those are the people that want to drink hazelnut latte is filled with a bunch of sugar and garbage artificial flavors. To describe it it’s a good cup of New Jersey coffee that you would have the bagel and cream cheese and it works amazing my espresso machine I’ve been on the hunt for a good coffee for the last three years and this is the one that really makes the deal. My espresso machine has pull 200 shots of this coffee and not once has a clogged up and not once have I had to replace a single part because of this espresso machines ability to use this great coffee.

Absolutely love this coffee! I mix it with darker roasts like French and Italian to make a blend that is extremely well balanced and smooth without too much bitterness. I get a lot of compliments on my coffee and people ask what brand I use. I usually shop sales among brands for the dark roasts I use but adding 8 O’Clock Colombian is always the secret ingredient.

This coffee is nice and I enjoy the taste . I sometime have it in the early morning or late evening.

It’s good coffee. Medium roast. Handles cream and chocolate syrup for me, black for my doppelgänger. The coffee I crave and grew up with. The caffeine I need. The traditional beans of New York/Philly. Delicious. It’s smooth, can be bold and basic essential caffeine goodness. I prepare grind mine coarse, perk it old school, in a stainless steel percolator on the stovetop. Drink it all day at various temperatures. Decant the last cups into a bottle and refrigerate for the morning iced coffee.

Really like the taste, and the price is so good for this high quality. Will buy it again.

Love it BUT!

Definately has a bold flavor when ground for a regular coffee maker, I grind a little less for the coffee pot, but stronger when I make Espresso. Has a smooth strong taste in either form, great flavor if you like you java strong.
