K&N 303 Is Exact Fit For 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX14. Easy To Install Due To End Nut.
⁃ The Black K&N 303 fit into my 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX14.⁃ It was printed ‘made in Thailand.’⁃ It comes with a protective polythene cover around the other/hollow end of the filter.⁃ The description says that the gasket comes pre-lubed but I lubed the gasket with clean oil, the same Mobil 1 Racing 4T synthetic 10W-40 oil that I used for the oil change, just to be on the safe side.⁃ I’m glad I bought this filter with an end nut. I tried to take off the OEM Kawasaki oil filter but I really struggled. I tried to use the right/correct oil filter cap wrench to remove the filter but it wouldn’t budge. The edges that the filter wrench grabs onto started rounding off and I knew that I was in for a long sweaty oil change. I had to use a big pair of pliers to carefully twist the oil filter off. What was a 1 hour or so job turned into a whole day’s job as I had to run to the store and get other wrenches that didn’t do the job and consult notes written by other owners of the same bike on internet bike forums. I was lucky that the filter finally moved. Many people in the motorcycle forums have turned into piercing the filter with a screwdriver (for leverage) as a last resort to remove it!⁃ For this particular motorcycle, (2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX14) the 17mm socket works on the end nut of the K&N filter and removes both the oil pan drain bolt that you unscrew to drain the oil from the oil pan. So, you only need one socket for the entire exercise, a good thing.⁃ The filter seemed to be of good quality and similar to the OEM Kawasaki filter.⁃ The end nut is especially useful in tightening the oil filter to the correct torque specs. The manufacturer insists on torquing the oil filter and not using the hand to tighten it and second guess.⁃ For this motorcycle, the oil filter is torqued to 23 ft/lb (31 N.m) The end nut makes it easier. With a small extension, torque wrench and the 17mm socket, you are able to torque the oil filter without being hindered by the exhaust pipes underneath. It feels ‘just right’ when torqued and the nut was not ‘rounded off’ during installation.⁃ It has a hole at the end nut for those who race and must have all their parts tied up during racing.⁃ No leaks so far in 2 weeks and 250 miles of riding. I bought another K&N oil filter and put it in stock for the next oil change after 3,000 miles. I never want to go through the experience of trying to get another filter without an end nutoff.

Don’t be scared and buy this one ☝🏼
I have used this oil filter for my 2021 Kawasaki Z 900 for the past three oil changes and it has not failed me once. I know there are some people who are scared to use K&N filters because they read online that it will leak or it will blow off, but if you are a daily rider and ride hard on occasion or even constantly, as long as you’re not full on racing with the throttle all the way open, you’ll be fine. I’ve taken my bike on road trips that are hours long and taken my bike to the limits on the straights of MEXICO going 145+ and the filter held strong. Never has it leaked or given me signs of issues. If you want to use this for small performance upgrades and have a convenient form of getting a filter without going to the local shops and paying to dollar for basic filters, get this one. The quality is great, it feels solid and has a wrench/socket head for easy installation and removal. The fit on my Z900 is crème de la crème. I highly recommend this. I do understand that most tracks ban these, but if you don’t track your bike, this is great 100%.
