Surprising how good this film is!
I was skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised how well done this "final" Rambo film is. The John Rambo character has always been a man who must act when the innocent are in danger and situations are out of control. This film does a great job of displaying how he tries to salvage an out of control situation and shows that he is doing his best but is not perfect. At age 74 an old veteran is not expected to do much of anything to fight evil but John Rambo uses his wisdom gained from decades of combat experience to utterly destroy the Mexican Cartel that has kidnapped his adopted daughter. The final action sequence is a truly a work of art as he methodically takes them all out. Yes it is bloody but it shows how much hatred he has of those who do evil. John Rambo has always been a hero who stands for what is right and this film puts a definitive stamp on that quality. By the way I am Latino and know that there are evil people in all the races as there are also good morally upright people like John Rambo as well. I highly recommend this film.

A knight in shining armor
Sometimes I wonder about IMDb and its reviews. Same for the Oscars. Its like Hollywood hates anyone not from Hollywood. "Rambo: Last Blood" was slammed for its violence, while "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood" was cheered despite its violence. Yes, I liked "Once Upon a Time ... " too, but where's all the fuss about "Rambo" coming from? I do wonder if Mexico is really that bad. Refer to "Sicario" or "Get the Gringo." If that is all false then I apologize to Mexico. If its true, then it needs to be told. Besides this movie was just plain entertaining, and I thought the bad guy was good looking. Wikipedia says he was a heart throb in his native Spain and I believe it. For the criticism that his Spanish was too Spanish to be playing a Mexican - wow, that's effete. Who among us working class could tell the difference? And I always go for the stalwart strong man that stands up for us women when some devious bad person thinks he can get away with abuse. The girl who played the betraying friend was excellent - I really wanted to wring her neck. The housekeeper/grandmother was also excellent - I wanted to hug her. A good movie, I enjoyed it.

Not bad.
The first was so profound in its way. I was hoping the "end" would come close. It's not bad. But it underwhelms. Cheap actors outside of Sly. No twists from the cookie-cutter mold of this genre. Not even some new tech that might have arched the bridge into a new audience (of self-defense/death).Casting missed the mark. Tech (choices, not effects in the film) missed the mark. Editor, you too, I suspect, dropped some worthy footage (and thank you for trying... you were not in control). My guess is that someone controlled things and it was short-changed. To lower budget, perhaps. But let me be honest, I'm a fan of the franchise (esp. the first), so I would be dishonest if I said that it's not good. It has some good thngs. If it's the last, I was hoping for a twist somewhere (hell, get Brian Dennehy or Darin McGavin (okay, geeks, I know that he passed so shut it - may he rest in peace) - add some thing for comic relief, some real, true, not less-than.120 IQ "pandery" love interest or social issue/aspect). ) Bring in the Ewoks! Hell, I hated 'em as a cheap, sell-more-milkshakes and kiddie meals EWOKS, but dang, even they would have made this film better somehow. Jeezus, have Sly prevent the Covid - can't you add some intelligence to the plot?)I am turning to the negative. I must stop. I liked it. I am dissappointed because with more budget, more scripting, it could have been so darned good. It was not that far off.
