Precision, Compact, Versatile
The Overview: The Taylor High-Precision Digital Portioning Scale in sleek black is like the Swiss Army Knife of kitchen scales - small, versatile, and incredibly precise. Designed for those who need to measure with accuracy, whether for baking, portion control, or any culinary adventure, this scale packs high functionality into a compact form. The Good: Precision: Measures up to 16 oz/500g with ultra-fine increments of 0.001 oz/0.01g. This level of detail is perfect for those meticulous recipes or dietary needs where every gram counts. Size and Portability: Its compact design (4.5" x 2.5") makes it ideal for small kitchens or for taking on the go. The slim profile means it won't dominate your counter space. Versatile Use: The cover doubles as an extended weighing tray with sides to keep ingredients contained, enhancing its utility for various tasks. User-Friendly: Simple two-button control with features like auto-off to save battery life, tare for zeroing out weights, and a low battery indicator. The backlit LCD is easy to read even in dim lighting. Quality Build: The stainless steel platform is durable and easy to clean, adding to the longevity of the scale. The Not-So-Good: Lid Design: While the cover is a clever feature, some might find it a bit fiddly to remove or reattach, especially with short nails or if your hands are wet from cooking. Battery Life: With frequent use, you might find yourself replacing the AAA batteries more often than with larger scales. Overall: This scale from Taylor is a gem for anyone needing high precision in a small package. Its design and functionality cater to both professional and home use, making it a must-have for anyone serious about portion control or precise baking. The only minor gripes are the lid and battery life, but these are easily overlooked given the overall performance and convenience. Pros: Exceptional accuracy for its size Compact and portable Versatile with the dual-purpose cover Easy to use and maintain Cons: Lid can be tricky to manipulate Battery replacement might be more frequent Conclusion: If you're in the market for a scale that doesn't compromise on precision due to size, the Taylor High-Precision Digital Portioning Scale is a top contender. It's perfect for the meticulous chef, the health-conscious dieter, or anyone who loves the art of exact measurement. This scale has become an indispensable tool in my kitchen, and I suspect it will in yours too.

Little scale that could
I use this for measuring hair products. I have had this over a year and it works well. Very easy to use and very efficient battery usage as well

Reliable, accurate and coveted by others.
Have owned this scale for years. Bought two on Amazon. I use one for measuring insecticide that comes as soluable granules. Usually an acre’s worth needs only a half to one ounce. This is very accurate when spraying smaller fields or using a backpack sprayer and need to measure small amounts. The second one is used for bread. It used to weigh yeast, salt, water and for single loaves, 400g of flour in a light stainless bowl. This scale is very accurate. I have had two walk off (stolen) by vendors who liked it so much it disappeared on me. This scale can NOT get wet AT ALL. If you are messy with ingredients this is not the scale for you. If you run a tidy ship and can keep it clean it will work for years.

Great smaller scale
Bought this for my turntable to adjust my tone arm weight. but found it works great for the kitchen for smaller measurements that our larger scale would not do. very small and fits in a kitchen drawer with no problem.

Nice, but a refined display and USB rechargeable could bring this into Apple Store territory
Bought August 2021 from Amazon, for measuring food portions. I used it for about a year before graduating to a Zwilling glass top food scale -- only about 25% more expensive. I revisited the Taylor 22Mar2026 for some extra precision measurement. I'm remembering it works well enough and appears accurate. But in this day of rechargeable Li-ion batteries and better LCD readouts, it could really could use modernization. In order of priority 0-10, 10 being most in need: 10/10 Relocate the LCD display to bottom edge of unit, and move the buttons to the sides. As is, the display is constantly obscured by items being weighed. Even worse, the LCD quickly becomes harder to read anywhere off-axis. 8/10 USB-C rechargeable Li-ion 3.7V 500mAh battery. * Makes unit lighter vs the existing 2x AAA batteries * Eliminates the clunky hard to remove battery cover, and lowers damage risk from leaking batteries 8/10 Make the entire top surface the weighing surface, like the Zwilling glass-top, with the LCD under it. As is, gaps between the brushed metal weighing platform and the surrounds catch dust and liquids, making cleaning unnecessarily difficult and risks breeding bacteria. 5/10 Rethink the rubberized coating on the outer plastic surfaces. I'm guessing this matte finish was intended to give a quality look. The cost is a constant feeling of being greasy and unsanitary, while catching lint. These could transform this little 500g capacity workhorse from its plasticky sticky clunkiness, into a jewel-like Apple Store-worthy device. Modern improvements in volume production of USB-C rechargeable batteries etc., should enable little or no cost increase.

Very pleased with this gram/ounce scale
Both of my sons have this same scale, so I got one, too. I use it two or three times every day, sometimes more, to weigh supplements, food items, baking ingredients, etc. I've also used it to weigh many pickleball paddles. Size is good, easy to read numbers, can change from ounces to grams. It is very accurate. The batteries last many months. All in all, I'm very pleased with this scale. Highly recommend, though the price has gone up quite a bit in the past few years. The high capacity, 500 grams, was important for me.

Worked OK Until it Didn’t
Worked fine for a couple months then started getting squirly. It can’t get wet or have any substances around its edges. Turns off mid weigh now.
