This little gem is worth the price!
I have used about a dozen gimbal stabilizers over the years. Most are pretty effective at reducing the camera shake to the point where stabilization is just a given. The best I have ever used is the DJI Ronin S... but the thing is a beast, and it is a huge pain to travel with. My goal over the last 5 years is to try and find something as effective as the Ronin S, but is much easier to manage. The Hohem 3 in 1 stabilizer really checks quite a few of the boxes and shines compared to a lot of the competitors. Notes- - First off... it is very effective at reducing camera shake during videoing. Again, this is nearly a given, but it is important to state that it does do its intended job. If it sucks at stabilizing then nothing else matters. - Second... this thing is crazy light. I love it. I can mount my Sony ZV1 and the whole set-up is about the same weight as a Go-Pro on the Karma stick. You could film for 16 hours and not even feel it (good luck with that with the Ronin S). - The Hohem comes with a connection cable to interface directly with the Sony ZV1 . It mostly works fantastically... I am not a huge fan of having to double push record in order to video (I wish it was a separate button), but that is a pretty small gripe. - Balancing during set-up - not great.... but many others are worse. The thumbscrew for tightening is in an awkward space which makes it a bit difficult to tighten without bumping the camera off the balance point. Honestly, this is the worst critique I have for the Hohem stabilizer. - Great value. This fully operation gimbal stabilizer is about the same price as Sony's tripod grip. If you get the Hohem you will never use the Sony Tripod grip again. - Battery life seems to be great. I have filmed for over an hour without much battery drain (my Sony ZV1's battery was drained and this unit seemed to be at 75%). - I am not sure what the maximum sized camera you can use would be, but it works well with the ZV1. Obviously, a full-frame would be out of the question.... along with many of the MFT's that are out there (like the GH5). Final Verdict - A great option for vloggers and people that use smaller cameras for video

Excellent Budget Gimbal!
I have only used it a few times since purchasing it because I got it for a project in the summer, but it has been an excellent gimbal and I am glad I made the choice to add it to my camera gear. I have been using it with a Sony RX100 II mostly and the built in controls work great. I have used it lightly with an iPhone 6s but I have yet to try the app. I've never had a gimbal before and this was very easy to get started with, even balancing which a lot of people told me might be a challenge. The footage is stable and smooth, any pans or tilts are effortless, battery life is great, and it's easy to figure out the modes and controls after playing with it for a bit. Compared to others from bigger name competitors, this may not support larger cameras like they do, but the value is incredible if you use compact cameras like the Sony RX/ZV series, Canon GX line, or similar. Maybe even some really small mirrorless systems would work on it too with the right lenses. I was wary of spending such a big amount on a brand I'd never heard of but it's been a great experience and I'm glad I bought this gimbal! I think if you're a beginner looking for a first stabilizer, a vlogger that uses compact cameras or a phone, or just someone who wants to increase the quality and smoothness of home videos of your family or pets, this is a great option especially for the price.

A great overall gimbal (with a few exceptions)
I like this gimbal a lot. I've had mostly good experiences using it, with the exception of a few which I'll outline below. Pros: Great stability. Great tutorials and videos online. Come with lots of thoughtful products and tutorials, as well as how to use the app to make even more creative videos. Holds even larger phones well, though with some adjustment necessary. Maximally benefit from the features if you have a Sony camera to take advantage of the full feature set Cons: At first it was smooth as silk in operation. Lately the video has still come out smooth, but when operating the gimbal feels like it's making a vibration and noise that it shouldn't be, which I thought was something wrong, but may not be. Hopefully this is not a malfunction on this particular device. Occasionally when I'm in the middle of filming, it will dip down slightly when I've not directed it to do so. Sometimes the battery meter is deceptive, for example saying it is fully charged and then rapidly diminishes. This is not consistent, and mostly it has held charge well.

Not capable of handeling the Sony ZV-1
I got this to use with my new Sony ZV-1 camera, the camera only weighs 0.65 lbs, a little more than 1/2 of the rated max of this gimbal, but when almost perfectly balanced the motors on the gimbal hum very loudly with every movement and if you joystick up or down. I was recording a video demo with the camera and gimbal, no extra mics or wind screens or anything and the SPL level from the motor noise was reading at over -12 Db, clearly this would not be suitable for video recording unless you were using an external lavalier mic, even a shotgun mic would pick up the vibrations from the motor, I could feel it in my hand. I'm sure this gimbal would be sufficient for phone or action cam use, nut not for a mirrorless, especially if you add a shotgun mic and wind screen. Also I have to comment about the adjustment knobs, the left/right slide adjustment know is easily reachable and user friendly, the up down knob, not as much, and the camera mount plate and adjustment locking screw are underneath the camera and buried by the portion that sticks out that it is hard to get your fingers on. Also the plate is so awkward in the cradle it doesn't feel like it belongs. The gimbal body feels solid and is well balanced in the hand, I only wish it could handle the types of camera they specify in the description.

Software and calibration was not so easy *update 11May
*11May After working the seller/ tech support, the issues has been resolved. The first version did have issues, from my tech experience, a firmware issue as updates were not stable. The recent products does show signs of stable firmware. As for now, my recommendation is to not purchase the open box options and just go new. Mother's day was full of home videos and it was the perfect tool. It is a plug and play with the sony rx vii. The weight capacity is perfect. Love that the motors are oversize to carry the designed weight. Areas of improvement would be ergonomics, design one with a bent handle like the DJI Osmo mobile 3. 10April, after two days trying to figure it out by watching youtube videos and working with text support, I decided to just return it. The issues I had experienced were unstable calibration/ alignment and the firmware update.

Great value gimbal
So far so good. I was surprised by the build quality and heft to this gimbal. It is heavier than I thought it would be in a good way. It isn’t overly heavy to cause strain but heavy enough to give it decent stability. I have tested it with the Sony zv-1 and the Osmo Action, and it has been flawless. I haven’t dug into the Hohem app yet but outside of some slow connections times, I’m sure it will work fine. Overall very impressed by this gimbal and it has all the main features that you would need for casual use and occasional pro use. The build quality is good enough that I would feel confident enough to throw it in a cam pack without the awesome case that it comes with even though it doesn’t have a gimbal lock mechanism and use the case for the added accessories along with some additional gear such as a field recorder, power bank, action cam etc etc.

Motors too small
I want to start by saying that I hate giving poor reviews; I am the guy that likes to giving raving reviews, but I thought some technical glitches need to be addressed. Basically the motors are too small; the gyro motors worked great out of the box on the first test. The next day I placed a mid-size phone on the gimbal, a Canon Elph 190, and an action camera (all separately). I do want to mention the software worked flawlessly. No matter what type of camera I mounted on the bracket; it vibrated horribly. I would show the test videos I took with it, but I do not want to make anybody sick. I know I can return it and get a new one, but again, I just think the gyro-motors are too under-powered and not beefy enough to handle any kind of weight. So I will just return it and wait to get something more professional in 2021. It did vibrate less with less weight on it; however, even with minimal vibration none of the videos were viewable and the vibrations were picked up by the microphones. I tried adjusting every adjustment screw, every balance position, and rubber-bands... nothing could keep it from vibrating. Great product idea; just needs to be stronger with bigger motors; thus more expensive... then we get into the $300+ range and start getting close to professional grade. My opinion: any of the reasonably priced gimbals (this is my third try with an inexpensive gimbal) just do not have the hardware to handle even the light loads, and in this case, the Hohem Multi definitely does not.

Decent gimbal - one deal-breaking issue for mine
I'll start off by saying that I think this gimbal is worth the price I paid for it. However, it's gotten to the point that I can't use it for my application. It may just be this particular gimbal in my possession because browsing through other reviews, I haven't seen my issue. I took the time to balance my camera (Sony RX100III) and everything worked well. However, the gimbal is generating this buzz which is picked up by my camera - I don't think the camera mic is picking it up, I think it's actually the vibration of the gimbal shaking the camera. The picture is still steady 75% of the time, but the rest, it's just all over the place-whether the gimbal is buzzing or not). Like as if I wasn't using a gimbal. I'm a troubleshooter by nature, so I charged the gimbal, re-calibrated/balanced the camera on the gimbal and tried it in every setting available. No change. Any time I go vertically or horizontally the gimbal starts buzzing/vibrating. Once it starts, it keeps going. I can shut it off and turn it back on and it will stop about half the time. So in summary, this is a good gimbal and I think I just got a bad one. I am days from the end of my return window, so I think I'll do that and most likely pick up the newer version. I'm not saying anything against this seller or the company. Sometimes there are outliers and I think mine happens to be one.
