Viking Revolution Luxury Safety Razor Shaving Kit - 6 Piece Set

Let me start off that I hate shaving and I have really sensitive skin so shaving really irritates it, and I've had a beard for a long time, but my job requires me to shave once a year for my respirator certification. Everything in the kit is of decent quality, the pre shave oil and after shave balm are really nice and smell good. The razor itself has a decent weight and is comfortable to hold and use, the 10 pack of razors is good. The brush is okay but could be better I was having to pick out bristles in my lather. the bowl is good and helps make a good thick lather. The stand for the razor and brush is a nice touch. This is a really good price point for everything you get in the kit. Although I didn't use the shave shave soap, I used Porasso shaving cream instead off a recommendation from a friend. After using this kit it gave me a really close and smooth shave, and for the first time my skin isn't irritated after shaving, and I'll never use a cartridge razor again. The kit made something I rather dislike a nice enjoyable experience.

Before using, I highly recommend that you watch the how to video they provide. Unless you are already used to shaving with a safety razor, your face will suffer the consequences if you do not. I confess, I did not watch the how to video, and yes, my face suffered the consequences. Lesson learned, safety razors are a whole new beast to tame, especially after shaving with basic razors your entire shaving tenure. This kit is phenomenal! It comes with everything that you need and it is all high quality. The razor, again, it is a safety razor, is perfectly balanced and feels natural in my hands. The blades themselves are super sleek and super sharp. They are easy to install and take off the razor. They start you off with plenty, and when you do run out, they are inexpensive to replace. They even provide you with a really cool, and sturdy, stand that holds your razor and brush. I only wish that it extended out just a little further so my shaving soap cup could fit nicely underneath the brush. This is only a cosmetic, and personal, issue though. By no shape or form does this take away from the total awesomeness of the shaving kit. The barber brush and soap cup is also high quality. This is the first time that I have used this setup and my I did not know what I was missing. My skin feels so much better afterwards! The Pre-Shave and Post-Shave balms are also really effective. I have sensitive skin and it is not irritated by any of it! It took me a while to learn how to use everything effectively, but once I did, I refuse to even contemplate switching back to how I used to shave. All-in-All, Phenomenal Shaving Kit and I highly recommend this product. If you are skeptical about switching over to a safety razor, do not let this prevent you from missing out. Yes, it may take you a few shaves and cuts to get the hang of it, but the quality of shave you get, and how wonderful you skin feels afterwards, is well worth it.

I'll give my BLUF (bottom line up front) before I get in to the review: Who this safety razor kit is for: folks like me that are tired of paying for and getting their face cut up by cartridge razors, those that want it all in one kit and don't want to shop around and paying more or are concerned with mixing brands, and those, again like myself, who are new to safety razors and wanted to see what all the hype is about. Who this safety razor kit is NOT for: "aficionados" that buy anything at all with the expectation of near perfection and people that actually know what they are doing and could stand to spend a few extra bucks on shopping around for higher quality soaps, DE blades, brush, and razor itself. Overall, my perception of this kit was that of a nice ENTRY LEVEL kit into the world of safety razor shaving. Due to me being new to the art form, my review may be more desirable to those like myself that are tired of spending so much on cartridge razors and wanted to try safety razor shaving out for the first time and less desirable to those that are incredibly familiar with safety razors and the art of shaving with one (so keep your "you don't know what you're talking about"s to yourself). I was a little concerned with the handle being a bit too short for me to find comfortable but was happy to find it felt just fine in my hand when I used it. The brush was a totally alien concept for me to use relying on shaving creams up until this point, but I don't feel that I could ever go back. It's a good brush, and I thoroughly enjoyed using it. The soap has a pleasant, if subtle, scent and leaves a bit more to be desired for those looking for something that smells nice like myself. The pre-shave oil definitely is as it states. Though scentless, it works fairly well as a pre-shave in my opinion. The post shave balm works wonderfully to moisturize your face following a shave and kind of reminds me of the Nivea balm I typically use having a more sensitive face, but this stuff had a more "muted" scent. I don't have any complaints about the material of the stand, razor handle, and bowl are made of though I also do not have much to compare it against with this being my first safety razor kit. My ultimate concern came from my desire to have a close shave. Being in a job that requires a bald face, a close shave is really important to me as it is all or nothing. No unprofessional stubbles allowed. I was very pleasantly surprised with how close of a shave I got out of using the safety razor. Not only that, I had minimal nicks and irritation. Bear in mind that you definitely want to take your time using this razor, but I found that cutting down a 3 day stubble was less of a hassle than if I had used my cartridge razor! This is a wonderful kit if you are even just remotely interested in using a safety razor. I would give it a 5 if it had more smell to it, but the smell (or lack thereof) was my only complaint. I felt that the overall quality of the kit matches the price rather well considering that there are $34 badger hair brushes and $16 shaving soaps out there. I feel that I found my new favorite way to shave and I hope you find yours as well. Final recommendations: -Last minute morning shavers beware! This razor can and should take more time to shave with unless you are a wizard or are doing something more efficiently than I am. I get up fairly early and get ready for the day much earlier than most so it's not much of an issue for me. -Try different blades out if you can. I found through researching this method of shaving that different blades have different shaving qualities and you may find that a particular brand of blades just work better for you. I cannot explain very well why, again, due to being new to this method of shaving.

I wanted to make my 14-year-old son's first shaves a memorable and educational experience, and the Viking Revolution Luxury Safety Razor Shaving Kit was the ideal gift. He was hesitant about the old-school safety razor at first, but having the entire kit (razor, stand, bowl, brush, and aftershave) made it a great way to teach him the proper technique. The quality seems fantastic—everything from the razor to the stand feels substantial. This kit is built to last a very long time, and my hope is that it will serve as a cherished memory piece as he ages, marking the beginning of his journey into manhood.

Great product for a first time straight razor shaver. This is my first experience trying out shaving with a straight razor. I solute my love this kit because it made it simple for a noob like me and has everything I need to enter the world of real men who shave with a straight razor. First I’ll start with the razor itself. It is very slick and has a nice design to it. The razor themselves seem like they are made of great quality. Gave me a nice shave and had my face feeling like baby’s butt. Absolutely no irritation, redness, or bumps after I shaved with this kit. That’s a big bonus because I usually get irritation no matter how I shave. The before shave oil and after shave, those have great smells and easy to use. Leave your skin feeling good with no problems afterwards. The brush and the bowl, both are great and simple to use. I just put the soap that they sent with the kit and leave it in that bowl and wet my brush up and rub it on the soap bar and run that on my face. Very affective and easy. The hanger looks nice and adds some style to the kit after you’re done shaving. Customer service is amazing. I like how they care about you and their product and make sure you are taken care of! First time using a DE Safety Razor, and I'll happily say it's given me the smoothest shave I've ever had. Handle feels well built and has nice weight to it, and the blades are indeed razor sharp. Brush worked well and feels good to apply shaving cream with. Haven't figured out the shave soap yet but I'll try. Sandalwood Pre and Post shave oils smell nice and provide a nice smooth finish. Went slow and tired to maintain good technique and not accidentally go side to side, and the hair comes right off. Nicked myself a few times around the moustache and neck apparently but didn't feel it, no pain, cuts were absolutely tiny and closed up in seconds. With practice that's definitely avoidable, and its nowhere near as bad as any cut I've gotten from a cartridge razor. If you're skin gets irritated easily like mine and you aren't satisfied with the smoothness from cartridge razors I can highly suggest this kit as a starting point for getting into using a Safety Razor.

Buy it!!!!! Someone took the razor and brush out of my kit. Probably Someone in Amazon!!! I called viking revolution and I got an answering machine, I didn't leave a message, I was pissed. Viking revolution still called me back and replaced everything, they are awesome. There products are on point. I definitely recommend!!!!

Ich habe mich aus Interesse und aus Kostengründen für dieses tolle Set entschieden. Bis dahin habe ich nur Systemrasierer verwendet. Da aber die Ersatzklingen immer sehr teuer sind und ich auch so Interesse an die altmodische Rasur hatte, habe ich mit diesem Set den Einstieg gewagt und wurde absolut nicht enttäuscht. Es ist anfangs etwas Gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber man kommt sehr schnell mit einem Rasierhobel klar. Das Set selbst wirkt sehr hochwertig und ist das Geld allemal wert. Ich werde weiterhin Produkte von Viking Revolution verwenden, denn diese haben mich überzeugt. Ich habe mit diesem Set auch das erste mal Rasierseife verwendet und auch das Aufschlagen der Seife war sehr einfach und man bekommt sehr schnell einen perfekten Rasierschaum hin. Auch die Seife würde ich sehr gern weiterhin verwenden, leider scheint es in Deutschland kaum möglich zu sein diese Rasierseife zu erwerben. Einzig auf der Website von Viking Revolution kann man diese Seife und 3 weitere Sorten kaufen, allerdings werden diese leider nicht nach Deutschland versendet. Die anderen Produkte wie das Balsam, Öl und weitere Produkte gibt es bei Amazon. Es wäre sehr schön wenn Amazon die Seifen auch anbieten würde. :-) Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Ich kann dieses Set jedem empfehlen, der den Einstieg in einer klassischen Rasur wagen möchte und somit eine Grundausstattung sucht. NACHTRAG: Da nun endlich auch die Rasierseife von Viking Revolution bei Amazon erhältlich ist, nutze ich nur noch Produkte dieser Marke. Ich bin auch nach längerer Verwendung absolut von der Qualität überzeugt und verwende den Rasierhobel mit den Klingen, das Pre Shaving Oil, Rasierseife, After Shave Balm, Bartwax und Bartöl. Von mir gibt es eine klare Kaufempfehlung! 🙂

Tras varias sesiones de afeitado, comparto aquí una valoración honesta y técnica para quienes estén considerando su compra. 🔧 Maquinilla de doble filo: Construcción metálica con buen peso y equilibrio. El cabezal sujeta bien la cuchilla, sin holguras ni desalineaciones, y ofrece un afeitado seguro y eficaz. Aunque no tiene las especificaciones milimétricas de marcas premium como Merkur o Rockwell, en la práctica funciona con precisión más que suficiente para un afeitado diario cómodo. Con cuchillas afiladas (he probado Astra SP y Feather), ofrece resultados limpios en dos pasadas. 🖌️ Brocha de tejón puro: Buena densidad y forma del nudo, con mango ergonómico. El pelo es natural, lo que implica un olor fuerte al abrirla (nada raro en brochas de tejón). Recomiendo lavarla con agua tibia y jabón neutro antes del primer uso. Tras el tercer lavado, el olor desaparece y la brocha se comporta de forma excelente: retiene agua, genera espuma con facilidad y tiene una sensación suave pero firme en la cara. 🧴 Aceite pre-afeitado y bálsamo post-afeitado: El aceite tiene una textura ligera, no grasa, y facilita el deslizamiento de la cuchilla, especialmente útil en zonas sensibles como el cuello. El soporte es funcional, mantiene la brocha y la maquinilla en posición vertical, lo que ayuda a conservarlos y mantener el orden.
