These pills are pretty big and I did have a little trouble swallowing them with a sore throat and would have probably had trouble even if it weren't sore because they are so big but I will say that they do help a lot so yes, they work pretty well. Good relief

I recently had a cold or some viral infection that was causing a lot of sinus issues and coughing and my normal plan of drinking hot tea and taking cough drops just wasn't working. I got these 12 hour tablets at just the right time and started taking them immediately, one every 12 hours until my cough went away which took a few days and just about used up this package of 8. These are slow release tablets and they work to loosen phlegm in your chest which will cause you to cough at first, but the coughing will be more effective and end up reducing coughing overall. In other words, this doesn't eliminate the stuff in your chest, it just helps break it down so you can cough it up easier. At least that's how it worked for me. It's never fun being sick and I am not sure there is one perfect solution for chest congestion, but these tablets definitely help speed up the process and I did find them effective so I have no problem rating these 5 stars. The 8 count is barely enough to get one person through one cold, I'll probably order the 16 count next time but it's not a bad idea to get the smaller package if you've never used these before since medicine works differently on different people.

I have always used Mucinex DM when I have problems with congestion and cough, so I was surprised at how effective "Robitussin Tablet 12 Hour Cough & Mucus Relief Extended-Release" proved to be. The tablet was easy to swallow and was effective completely for about eight hours. The remainder of the twelve hour period was not too bad, but I would have liked it had the efficacy been longer lasting. However, my primary care doctor has given me the okay to take one every eight hours for the two or three days when my cold is at its most severe.

This helped significantly with a bad cold I had. Pills were easy enough to swallow. It definitely worked better at the earlier part of the 12 hours, but seemed to provide relief for longer than other cold medicines I have tried in the past. Without a side by side comparison (which would be impossible) I cannot day for sure.

Robitussin Tablet 12-Hour Cough and Mucus Relief Extended-Release, Controls Cough, Thins and Loosens Mucus- these worked okay. I did have to break the tablets in half, simply too large to swallow otherwise, although it says explicitly not to break them in two. This may have impacted the effectiveness of the pills. The effects tend to wane close to the 12-hour mark. Not sure I would purchase again.
