Fantastic clips
Since my light fixtures are more than 15 years old, they did not have a method to hold the V-springs for the new LED lights we purchased. But these Seagull clips worked like a champ. The 'notches' are fantastic for holding the clips in place while the clips hold the light in place. Well worth the money.

Saved me from replacing a can
Cheap and easy. Saved me from having to replace a can with a missing retainer when I was retrofitting the lights.

Worked as intended.
They slide on really tight. Ended up not bothering to screw them in. They worked perfectly so I could retrofit my old cans with new led lighting.

Worked well.
Worked quite well. I used it to install another brand of LED retrofit lighting. Even though self tapping screws were provided, I did not need to use it because the tabs held everything in place. Only negative is that the clips where the legs of the led retrofit light hook onto are not smooth. Thus it digs into the metal legs which might make it more difficult to push the LED into the pots.

Strong & easy to install
I used these to upgrade ecessed lights that had no C clips. Installing them was easy and they are very strong. Figuring out placement so that they are opposite each other can be tricky, but once I got the hang of it, the process went quickly. I did not screw them in, they attach tightly to the side of the cans and the retrofits attached easily and securely. I recommend the product.

Sturdy replacement for broken factory bent steel arms.
These clips are sturdier than expected, which I appreciated. Would recommend to anyone. Some have commented they did not use the mounting screws -- I did not feel that was a safe option when the lights are 14 feet above the floor. What if they slipped and the glass cover crashed down? I did struggle with the difficult install angle of 90 degrees. The 1980s recessed lighting can is heavy gauge steel. If the furnished screws had a hex or torx head, in my case it would have been easier. Did not happen to be close to a hardware store for alternatives.

Exactly what was needed and easy install
I put in some new LED can lights and had these old (17 years) cans that didn't have the retention clips. Ordered these and like others said, just slid clip on old can without needed screw to hold in place. Just needed a small flathead to pry the clip open a bit when inserting on can. New LED lights went in without any issue.

DIY renovations and fixes
I bought LED recessed lighting from Costco, thinking I’d upgrade the lights in our bathrooms. It would be an upgrade from the old recessed lighting from the 1980’s.Fast forward 2 years later, I renovated my master bathroom and finally brought out the new recessed lighting. Everything was going great until I saw that the new lighting has tension bars to hold the light in the light housing. The old light had spring holding it in and the new lights couldn’t stay in no matter how I positioned the tension bars in the lighting house. Finally googled solutions and it brought me to this product. Just slip the product in between the old lighting house, squeeze the tension springs in and the light stays without any more issues. Before finding this product, I was going to Loctite (construction glue) the light into the housing.
