Running Until You’re 100 is the must-have guide that will keep runners fit as they age and help them run for life. Using Jeff Galloway’s proven Run Walk Run® method, this book offers step-by-step programs for runners in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. These programs make the needed adjustments for each decade, which means the runner can enjoy exercise and enhance life without injury. Also included is advice on nutrition and fat burning as well as how to determine current fitness level, set appropriate goals, and stay injury free. Using these run–walk, low-mileage programs will benefit the bones, joints, and heart, and most runners are able to enjoy running with fewer aches and pains. With this book, anyone can run until they’re 100! Review: Great Advice for Older Runners - Bottom Line: Jeff Galloway's tips, advice, and techniques are both outstanding and thorough. This book is an invaluable resource for those just beginning running late in life and who also don't already own any of Galloway's other books. Much of his guidance on things such as pacing and nutrition may seem like common sense, but sometimes you need to hear it from an expert-and there's also bad advice out there. Read "the low carbohydrate scam." Galloway is well known in the running community for his run, walk, run, method, and it is covered here as well as techniques such as his "magic mile." The purpose of this book is as clear as it is necessary for older people to internalize- get moving. Galloways states, "Unfortunately many people over the age of 50 believe they cannot, or should not increase their level of exercise." I hear it myself. This book debunk that thinking, and I believe, will motivate the skeptic and the sedentary to beginning a new, healthy way of life. I know I want to not only live longer but live healthier and more active as well. Buy this book, then get moving. Review: Better than expected. - Galloway’s extensive coaching and running of seminars has given him a depth of practical knowledge that few possess; there is wisdom from seeing thousands of runners try different training methods. I enjoyed the practicality of this book on the subjects that you can see in the table of contents. I will reread this book every year or two to remember wonderful points about cross training, fueling, the Magic Mile, and other topics discussed by Jeff.

Pretty Basic Info
I am not particularly in agreement with some of his advice in this book. The running guidance is pretty basic and just common sense, but he takes it to an OCD level with his ratios and formulas and such. Don’t listen to any of his guidance on diet and nutrition. He is off target. Rather seek guidance from a functional medicine practitioner. Not impressed with this book and mad at myself for buying it.

The perfect book for somebody who needs to see that you can run as you age, in order to believe it
I bought this book for a stubborn senior citizen in my life who wouldn’t listen to just data on things like bone density loss and declining muscle mass in relation to aging. We both agreed that It’s not impossible to stay active as you age, but this book provided him with the tools and mindset to shift his training methods. Instead of running his body into the ground (literally) he’s now enjoying other forms of cardio and noticing the benefits from these changes in his runs. This book is perfect for somebody who doesn’t want to hear about the science of aging from someone who hasn’t aged to that point yet. Jeff is the perfect messenger to deliver the message that you can remain active as you age

Good info
I started jogging because of his run walk interval approach, It made running less intimidating and less elitist. I really like his books and have done 2 marathons and 8 half marathons using his method. He has a free app that is a nice interval timer to implement this method.

EXTREMELY basic; Ok for brand new runners
This book is extremely basic, and I would only recommend it to somebody who is brand new at running. If you have even a couple years of running experience than you probably don't need this book.

Useful and encouraging
I have been running for over 20 years. I am now 71 and am running about 25 miles per week. I've read more than 20 books on running. This book is the most encouraging and the most practical. If you're over 50 and want to keep running or to start running. Get this book, unless you have an excellent personnel running coach.

Encouraging and full of useful tips
I discovered Jeff Galloway through his Run-Walk-Run method. which keeps the fun of running long distances without the pressure. This book is very good as it explains what happens to our bodies as we age, it demystifies how to deal with it from a runner's point of view, and it gives good advice on how to adapt. It provides a lot of useful information I will start putting in practice now, and hopefully in the decades to come. I just ran a 25k distance with this approach, and do not feel the worse for wear on the following day.

Highly recomended.
Several runners recomended the Jeff Galloway run walk run method. Had to get the book to see for myself. Quite expensive and how good it is for you depends on where you're at with your running eg fast/ slow, older/ younger...

Disappointing
I asked for this book plus The Run Walk Run Method but found them both to be repetitive and with the assumption that you live in the US and already run. References to studies carried out +30 years ago didn’t add to my enjoyment. This book is for Galloway disciples rather than someone looking to start.
