An Outstanding Buy
Using the monitor as I write this review. Talk about getting bang for the buck! That's an understatement. The difference between this and a 3:4 17" monitor is striking, namely seeing a whole web page without scrolling back and forth. Some websites have the log-in to the far right, so it's easy to miss and frustrating. Not so with this monitor. I didn't have to mess with adjusting the screen resolution and the colors are more true-to-life than my previous monitor. There is no way to tell that this isn't a brand new product because it is in perfect condition.

Fine Budget Monitor
Have used a ViewSonic monitor as the secondary display for my iMac for some years now, been very reliable. With experience-bred confidence in the brand, I ordered this as the display for my newly acquired Mac Mini. Required a VGA-to-Thunderbolt adapter, an inexpensive item I ordered at the same time as the monitor. The complete setup works fine so far.

and bad viewing angles
Ok monitor but I utlimately returned it. Non hd, and bad viewing angles. If you are on a serious budget it would be ok, but I needed something better.

Don't waste your time
These are so cheap they do not have an HDMI port, no usb ports, just a single 200 yr old vga port. And I know it says the size, but holy goodness are they tiny. Do yourself a favor and pass on these pieces of junk. I went to a big box electronics store and for $5 more got two 22" monitors with hdmi inputs.

One Version Up, Still good......
Even though this monitor is one model above the ones I got the last time I order one, it does the job. One thing I did notice with this on however, is that ViewSonic doesn't include a driver disk with this one and depends upon Windows drivers to do the job. I had used a VA1912 monitor and it's driver was still on the drive and it worked fine with this one. I also noted one other thing that sort of brother me. Of all the VA19 series monitors this was the only one that didn't set up right at turn on. On all the others I simple plugged in the monitor, turned it on, cranked up the system and the monitor adjusted itself to the desktop without a problem. On this one, when it first came on, the screen was shifted way over to the left off screen. I had to turn the monitor off and back on to get it to set up right and it did once I did this. That was sort of interesting to me. Since this one won't be used for gaming this may not matter for me but it seems that you might need to turn the monitor on and off if you get what I experienced. Other than those two things it's been just what I expected. The picture is great and displays very well. I noted that one reviewer noted no HD inputs. He's right this monitor only has the single VGA analog type input. I've got three VA1912 models that are still working great and have had no problems out of any of them. If your interested in a monitor with a number of inputs, then you need to look else where. But I'm very pleased with the picture and that's the reason I took a chance on this one as it's the updated version of the other three I have. One other thing I did notice was a different base. The other three have a y-shaped base that pretty solid, but this one has a circle base. Like the y-shaped better, but this monitor's base is solid. None of these minor things caused it to drop a star for me, but the lack of drivers should cause a problem if you plan on using it in a low budget gaming system. Overall, I very good low priced monitor.

Wouldn't recommend. Made a quick decision to purchase this as a second monitor for better organization. Unfortunately the slightly lower resolution IS noticeable and the screen feels a bit washed out. Returning it to get a 1920x1080 monitor for $15 more.

This ViewSonic Works As I Expected It Would.
Have always had good luck with ViewSonic monitors and this one is no different. Use it on my workbench to diagnose laptops and desktops that come in for diagnosis. Just the right size without taking up much space. Clear, crisp screen for my needs. Have not needed to do any ajustments to the monitor since I received it and used several different computers hooked to it. So far, so good.

Good price
For the price range this is a good monitor.I have a Dell desktop computer with Windows 7 (64bit) operating system. Install was fast and simple. Just connect power and VGA cable, turn it on, and it automatically worked! For the low price this is a good monitor.I do have one small issue. The black color is really more of a dark gray. I did adjust contrast, brightness and other things, but the blacks were not pure black. Now this being said, I did not not knock off a star because it is more of a personal thing I have. Most people probably won't even notice. All said and done, good monitor for this low price. And Amazon ships fast!
