Zojirushi 6-Cup Rice Cooker

This replaced and older Zojirishi 10 cup rice cooker that I had for about 20 years. The older one was cracked from dropping and I never made more that 4 cups at a time. It finally died and would not power up. I decided to go smaller this time around, 6 cups, and as a bonus, it has a steamer tray! Also a bonus over my old 10 cup, it starts at 1 cup as the minimum to make whereas my old started at 2 cups. The first one I received was damaged; both the box and it’s contents were dented in multiple spots, which I attribute to both the poor protection of the original box and not having an outer shipping box (it was packed just in the original box). Amazon made it easy to return and get a replacement which was appreciated! Overall, I hope this lasts me another 20 years!

This Zojirushi 6 cup rice cooker replaces an older Aroma rice cooker that wasn't working properly. Love the simplicity of this rice cooker. It is very solid and well made and feels much heftier than the lightweight Aroma cooker. Nice light grey non stick pan instead of usual black pan. Comes with a stainless steel steamer tray which we will use to steam veggies and eggs. If you haven't tried steaming your eggs, do it. They peel so easily after 18 minutes of steaming in a rice cooker. We have a Zojirushi bread maker and love it. This company makes quality products, and we enjoy them both.

I bought this rice cooker when I saw a cooking tutorial on how to make the perfect Haianese chicken and rice. And it turned out really great. I got the largest capacity (10 cups) for the extra space to put the rice and all the chicken pieces in there. My son absolutely loved the delicious Haianese chicken I made in this Zojirushi rice cooker. I’m also going to use it to steam vegetables and make shumai and bao buns.

Had to buy a baby elephant brand rice cooker because Uncle Roger recommended them, but didn't want one of the more expensive and complex multifunction ones. So bought this basic one on sale, and it does the job well. Easy to match rice to water levels, cooks all rice grains well, not too sticky and not too dry, and cleans up easily. The only thing I don't like, is that the lid doesn't fit well, could be a touch larger, so took a star off. Otherwise, I use it weekly, and am pleased with the purchase!

I’ve always purchased this Japanese brand for many years. All of my rice cookers have lasted 25 years plus. This one my first 3cups size. It’s cute and good size for me and my husband.

Finally replaced my other one after two decades. I replaced it not because it stopped working, but because the inner liner was all scratched up (and the cost of a replacement liner was not worth it). Love the super basic on/off/warm function. There has been a little adjustment period trying to figure out the exact amount of water to use - but I have heard that every rice cooker is slightly different, not to mention that my last unit was made over 20 years ago LOL.

This rice cooker was a recommendation from my sister who has the same brand that she purchased while living in Hawaii many, many years ago and is still performing well. I use Calrose rice, always have, and this little machine produced wonderful, tasty rice with easy cleanup following the instructions to leave it in the keep warm setting for 15 minutes after cooking. I have tried several rice cookers and have finally found the perfect one. So happy!! However, the delivery process was not such a positive experience. A huge box (could easily hold an upright vacuum fully assembled), appeared on the front porch with my precious rice cooker, left to bounce around the box with absolutely NO packing material. Fortunately the cooker itself was packed extremely well and did not suffer during its long journey totally unprotected. My sister, on the other hand, ordered the same rice cooker to have in case her present one decides to retire, and hers was delivered naked, just as if it was picked off a store shelf. I am quite puzzled by Amazon's shipping as of late; next day becomes two days (or more), two day becomes three or more, and packaging is completely unpredictable. I received an item last week packed inside a USPS priority mail packing box stuck inside an Amazon box. Amazon, if you're listening, please try to improve.

Was excited rice cooker was still available to replace 25 year old rice cooker. Just received delivery new rice cooker Made in Thailand not Japan, but if quality standards same all over for Zojirushi I'm happy... the inside center of cooker has a spring loaded mechanism, inner pot doesn't sit flat and moves around unless pot is weighed down, maybe spring is too high?! Will probably keep and use the new inner pot in the old rice cooker since cost for replacement inner pot same as a new rice cooker. Also got a serving spoon and steaming tray...
