I needed to take Omega 3 supplements but was nervous about heavy metals in fish oil (don't trust that it's properly "purified") so I was thrilled to find that there are algae-based Omega 3 products. I did a bit of research and Sapling was the clear winner. I like that there are no unnecessary fillers, sweeteners, no sunflower oil (I'm trying to get the right Omega 3 to 6 balance, so what's the point in adding in more Omega 6?!), no fishy smell, and that it's sustainably sourced so it doesn't contribute to more overfishing.It has both EPA and DHA which a lot of others don't. Yes, it contains Carrageenan, but Sapling is upfront about this and doesn't try to get it past the buyer by calling it "seaweed extract" like other brands.As with every Omega 3 product I've ever tried, the pill size is fairly large, but since it's a softgel it's easy enough to swallow and it has a nice minty smell. Unfortunately algae-based omega 3 is still a bit pricey, but Sapling was more inexpensive than the other brands (Nordic Naturals etc.).Only con: The extra carton around the bottle seems unnecessary. Just more cardboard that needs to be recycled.

Peppermint flavored and easy to swallow. Good way of getting Omega 3 without resorting to any of the negatives in fish oil.

I purchase this on a regular basis. My last check up everything was fine. I would say at 69 y/o this helps in my healthy lifestyle.

Easy to swallow gel tab. Vegan DHA and DPA ; I take one daily and bottle lasts for 2 months. Skin seems less dry and more smooth. Supports good health maintenance.

I was content taking fish oil but my new doctor urged me to switch to plant-based omega's, citing the potential mercury in fish oil. Also he said this is what the fish eat to create the omega-3's in the first place.I chose this product because it had fewer additives than most of the other brands (even big-name brands like Garden Of Life or Wiley's). I did not want things like sorbitol or sunflower oil to be in my omega-3 supplement. This one does have glycerin and carrageenan, but the amounts are probably small and overall, this brand had less "extras."The capsules are very small and easy to swallow. There is also no after-taste or fish burps with these.The main limitation with these is that they do not have a lot of EPA or DHA in them per serving. With 2 capsules, you only get 150mg EPA and 300mg DHA. That's not a lot compared to fish oil. However, comparably priced algae oil products are not much products are not much different, so I will happily stick with this brand for now.

Healthy alternative to Omegas from fish. Direct source from the plant - algae. Great minty taste.

There are very few vegan omegas in the US & I've tried many of them. This is the first one that didn't have any side effects. Even though it's made out of algae, the others had a fishy taste & smelled like the ocean.. I'm sensitive to smells & even though the peppermint smell is very strong, it doesn't have a strong aftertaste like the mint used to mask coffee breath. I also have a sensitive stomach & it didn't make me burp (like the other vegan ones). The mint really seemed to keep my system calm & happy.. Love this & will buy again! Wish the Omega content was higher as it only delivers half of what I'm supposed to take. Would love to have Omega 6, 7, & 9 included to make it complete.
