No regrets on spending extra $$ for the Leifheit XL AirBoard Deluxe Lightweight Ironing Board. Better design for tall people.
XL is surprisingly worth the money. Purchased on Amazon in Feb of 2016 after husband bent our 25 year old ironing board (not while ironing-- mind you -- but while trying to be "helpful" and putting it away after I used it to iron his shirts and failed to promptly store it).Pros: Extra inches of height setting option is AWESOME for tall people. Additional inches of overall usable board length are fabulous for folks with longer inseam pants, for those of us who occasionally iron sheets, scarves, table cloths or longer skirts/formal wear.Convex legs are very stable (on flat kitchen floor -- can't speak to stability on thick carpet). While I don't sit while ironing, that design should make it more comfortable if you like to sit and iron. For its size, the board is very lightweight. I was skeptical that the foam-look board material would melt or compress, it hasn't.Neutrals: Is a little awkward to open/close --however, the mechanism and lever have held up and worked fine for over a year.I personally dislike the splotchy, butterfly design of the board cover. The darker and lighter shading shows through fabric and makes it sometimes appear that articles have stains. Would greatly prefer a plain cover in a neutral shade (silver or taupe/gray please) as I my ironing board doesn't need to coordinate with my household decor. And when ironing, I prefer the cleaner look of a solid cover. IMO, solid color cover should be standard and "decorator" covers should be replacement options.Cons: I was looking forward to using (and expected to like) the detachable iron holder/stand. However, I found it frustrating to attach and detach and gave up on doing so after two or three tries to scooch it out at the end without sacrificing board surface space. On my second attempt, I clearly didn't secure it properly and it unexpectedly detached -- and threw the iron to the floor (denting both the iron and the floor). I haven't thrown it out and keep thinking I'll try it again, but haven't bothered as I prefer the full length of the board without the stand at the end.It is pricey. But after a year of use, I do believe it's saved me a little time with the extra length and width and over the course of a year, I can say it was worth the extra cost for me -- but might not be if you're shorter than 5'6" or so -- don't regularly iron larger, flat things (like sheets, tablecloths or curtains) and/or if you mostly iron children's clothes or have short pant inseams and short skirts.Only real concern (that I've resolved) was that because it's longer in length, it was too tall to fit and hang in my "over the door" ironing board and iron holder (so it could be stored away on the inside of my utility closet door).I resolved that by hanging 1" flat bungee cords from a couple of over-the-door hooks (spaced on either side of the iron-holder and made loops for each leg of the iron on either side. To put the board away (so it hangs up off the floor and lays flat against the inside of the utility closet door), I rest the board on the floor and against the door, stretch one side of the bungee cord down around one leg and then pull the other bungee around the other leg and it then lifts up off the floor and hangs perfectly.

The Leifheit board is awesome! I didn't know a person could spend $70+ ...
I have never owned an ironing board. I just never needed one until recently taking a job in our court house. Now I've got ironing to do and believe me, it can't be properly done on the kitchen table, bed, floor, etc. I looked at many boards and read all the reviews before settling on the Leifheit. I took note of the weight and length because I'm 5'2, 120 lbs. and have moderate back issues that I don't want to aggravate. The Leifheit board is awesome! I didn't know a person could spend $70+ on an ironing board but it was well worth it. These things have really come a long way since the one my mom owned. Super lightweight but very sturdy! Fits easily in a small closet and makes ironing a far better experience! The mechanism is a tiny bit awkward at first (German thinking?) but otherwise, I'm really happy with this board and the price.

Compact tabletop ironing board.
This is a very light ironing board which I was aware of when I bought it. I mainly do shirts and it works fine but as it is so light it tends to move while using it. I was going to donate my old ironing board but am keeping it in case I need to do some heavy duty ironing. This one takes up very little room. It is well made and has a heavy cover. The only problem is that is does move, but I really needed lightweight so the good outweighs the bad.

Highly recommend this very unique and super light ironing board!
This ironing board is amazing, and I've never used anything like it before. It's made of a very rigid and tough foam plastic (styrofoam-like) material, and it weighs literally nothing. I'm not kidding—I put it on the scale, and it only weighs about 8 ounces! The board is perfect for using on a countertop, which is exactly what I was looking for. It's super convenient. Highly recommended!● Much better than flat perforated-metal boards, which can pool steam and make clothes wet, or metal mesh, which can leave an imprint● Only weighs about 8 ounces!● Stores easily● I love it!

Unstable
I liked that it was compact and lightweight and able to place the board on my quartzite kitchen counter. What I did not like was that it was unstable. However I was aware of this from other customers reviews so I was extremely careful with my heavy duty iron when using it on this iron board. Since I bought this iron board to iron only pillow cases, it works for my intended use and glad I do not need to bring out my large cumbersome iron board. Even so, you still must be very careful when using this iron board with such a heavy duty and hot iron.

I love this ironing board
I love this ironing board. It's lightweight, easily adjustable, and full size with a tapered end for ironing shirt shoulders, etc. The legs are sturdy with the T joints at the bottom, so it's very stable. It folds up easily and stores against the wall next to my washing machine. My old one was a dinosaur compared to this one and must have weighed twice as much as this one. This one doesn't squeak when you open it, and it makes ironing actually pleasant. I bought this because I needed a new pad for the old one, and decided to take a chance on this because it was on Amazon Prime, so I could return it if I didn't love it, but I'm definitely keeping it. Thank you Amazon!

The BEST ironing board ever made
This is the best ironing board I've ever had! I never dreamed an ironing board like this was possible. It's as light as a feather yet strong and sturdy! The board itself helps the iron do its job. This is an ironing board out of this world. It's small enough to fit in any storage area or space, while being a full size board for all your ironing needs. I just don't have the words to properly describe this incredible board! It's amazing! I'm a small woman and have struggled with ironing boards all my life -- no more! Whoever invented this, thank you!
