Does this bt780 battery tester need the voltage higher than 9V to run the printer?

No it has a 9 volt battery in it as well so as long as that battery is good the voltage of the cars battery doesn’t matter

How to update the software of this BT780 battery tester?

Hello Dear, Thanks for your inquiry. Here are the steps about how to update this BT780 battery tester: 1. Power on the battery tester and find FORMAT CARD on the main menu. 2. Remove TF card from the tester and connect it to computer via card reader in the case. 3. Download BT780_Firmware_V... from Foxwell website(old and new are all allowed). 4. Put TF card back to the analyzer, and select FIRWARE UPDATE from the Main menu. 5. Input 1234 and click Enter button. After the tester restart automatically, the software is updated successfully.
