Inkbird Digital Wireless Thermostat, ITC-308-WiFi Temperature Controller Heating Cooling Remote Control

I'm using this as a temperature controller for my homebrewing system and it works like a charm. It performs perfectly, turning on/off my heating element to keep a constant temperature when mashing grain. I set the inkbird to my target temp and then step away to do other things and dont have to worry about overshooting the strike temp. Then when mashed in I can be confident that the temperature is going to be constant throughout the mash, unlike before where I would lose ~10c in a 60 minute mash. The app is intuitive to use and pairing the device took literally 30 seconds. I also love being able to set the desired temp and various settings via the app instead of fiddling with the device itself and as a bonus I can monitor the temps from anywhere. I'd say the app functionality definitely makes it worth the extra over the base ITC-308. The temp is accurate right out of the box when i tested against two other temperature probes I have. it looks like there is a calibration mode in the app too if needed. For those wondering (as I was), this product works with 2.4kw Heating elements. At the time I bought the product, the description stated 2200w max but I see it has since changed to state 240v / 2400w compatibility.

The GOOD: Bought this twice. Once for a fully automated small bread prooving room and once for keeping the greenhouse plants alive when the temperature drops, mostly during night. The bread stuff is a bit more complicated (up to the user how much control is needed) but all can be done using your phone, creating daily or non-daily cycles for anything. The app could be better and more user-friendly but for this price it is more than the best value ever to be found! You can outright build sophisticated temperature (and with another device also humidity) controlled rooms for less than 10% of the price of commercial pre-built purpose rooms. Used for home beer brewing as well, however, they now have a specific type of this device for that, however, this can do the same. All in all, if you are into automation, if you are a control freak, if you are not happy with other controllers and their limited settings or bad cooling differentials, if you want cycles and custom programmes, this is your device! I don't work for Inkbird but sometimes I wish I did as their products are insanely good. THE BAD: Keep spares of the humidity and temperature sensors and probes as they are not very long lasting. The temp probe on this is better but can still fail. Inkbird's humidity sensors break far too easily but that's not relevant to this exact product so I wouldn't knock off a star, however, working with heaters and coolers with the probe failing can be disastrous, so it was worth to mention. The wifi only supports 2.4G and it always needs a strong or upper medium signal. The antenna built inside is just poor. You need to have your wifi closer. My phone will have a good medium signal where this device will fail to connect. Overall 5 stars for the insane versatility and quality of the product with the additional automation capability. Seems somewhat water resistant, too. Never had issues with it in a 100% RH environment. Nothing comes even close for a much higher price.

Brilliant piece of electronics which helps to ensure I do not fry my babies. Like some, I did have issues setting the WiFi, but I got it working by disabling 5G on my home router, this enabled me to set up the thermostat. I then reenabled 5G on my home router and bingo, can access the thermostat through my phone. Excellent quality and does what it says on the tin. Extreme good value for money.

There is not a huge array of heating control options in Europe, at an affordable price. And that suited my needs. Alot of excess functions that I would not ever need. The Inkbird wireless thermostat is compact enough and is easy to set up. Connecting it to the wifi was a bit of a chore, but success was achieved. This device keeps my 2 heaters controlled in my tent to maintain daytime and night time temperatures. And it does this with ease. The Inkbird app is easy to use, set the temperature and when that is reached, the Inkbird turns of the heaters. It also has a refrigerant socket for people controlling lower temperatures, like beer brewing but I have no use for that. For this price, it is good value. I have owned my Inkbird for 2 years and it has had a 4 month brak but has been running permanently and no problems to report. Not one. So well done Inkbird. If you really need to time your heaters, then this is a good investment.

I bought this as an upgrade from the non WiFi one so the app is key for me, I set it up in the app ok, then realised that isn’t Alexa compatible so added it in smart life, completely works, except the temperature adjuster scroll box disappears all the time making it very difficult to set, it can be done but can take ages and is very frustrating! It appears in the Alexa app but is equally dis functional, the - button reduces the temp but the + button just doesn’t work! I tried to return it to the ink bird app instead and just cannot make it find it again. I didn’t have it on there long enough initially to know whether these problems happen on there but as it refuses to reconnect to it I may never know!

This is only the thermostat, a heat mat must be purchased separately. I only use the heating function and it works perfectly. The written instructions are a little difficult to understand but the app makes it easy. Perfect to use when you want to customise and automate your set up while still being able to check on it and change settings while away. It’s stayed connected to the wifi with no problems since I first set it up.

The temperature differentials I input do not make any difference. There is no period when it is not either heating or cooling. This defeats the purpose for which I bought it and increases electricity consumption. False advertising and a very suspicious requirement of way too much of my personal information in order to work the remote app makes for a disappointing buy.

Overall perfect item. I just have feeling that prob will get rust if remains in water. Will be more better if plastic coated.

I had an issue with the probe malfunctioning. To my surprise, INKBIRD ended up sending me a new unit since it was still under warranty. Very happy with the customer service - they were prompt in responding and getting to a desired outcome. Thank you!

Lovely product for salt water tanks, just hoped the temperature sensor could be easily removed and reattached Incase it fails. Readings are accurate and updates quickly.

I chose this device based on misguiding you tube videos. It is not what I wanted. In fact , my STC1000 temperature controllers are far more convenient and cost effective than this device. I am sorry, but it’s not something I can use as-is. I had to combine it with another controller to make it fit. YouTubers who claim they reviewed it should clarify what the Set Temperature mean and not imply it’s flexibility. Yes it is something good for fermentation, but not for maintaining a range. Say I want the temperature to continually cool to the set temperature then heat to the peak temperature, this device is implied to do that, but not true.
