Too Easy for a 2nd Grader
I did not find this book to be at a 2nd grade level. I bought the book for my rising 2nd grader to get a jump start skills for the coming skills only to find that the book covers mostly things he learned in Kindergarten (number line, coins, time, single number addition and subtraction) and 1st grade (place values, double digit addition and subtraction, measuring, graphs). There are a few pages of things that are 2nd grade in our world (fractions, addition/subtraction with place holders), but not enough to justify buying this book for an actual 2nd grader unless they struggle with math and need review. This book is all over the place. There are less than 60 pages but goes from 3+5 with pictures to 1000-250. I much prefer the books we have that cover a more limited set of learning. We passed this book on to my rising Kinder child, and she is able to do more of this book than I would have expected (the first part is REALLY basic). We will have to remember to pull this book out over the next 3 years to get my $3 worth. The only reason this book got 3 stars is because the price is much lower than many other workbook...but apparently you get what you pay for.

Goes over 2nd grade concepts well
This has been a great book for my son. He has always been at the top of his class and I got this for him when all the COVID stuff happened so he could continue to work at home. He was at the end of 1st grade and he was able to complete this entire workbook with ease. There were some new concepts that he had to learn, such as adding and subtracting with borrowing, but he picked up on the concepts quickly and the workbook was able to give him the extra practice and lessons I was looking for.

Perfect to prevent the "summer slide"
I purchased this for my 7 year old who will go into 2nd grade in the fall. Math has not been his strong suit and I needed something to help me help him. We've only done the first several pages, but it's keeping him engaged. It is reinforcing what he's already learned in first grade while still challenging him enough where he doesn't get discouraged. If he needs more repetition I can put similar practice problems in a notebook for him to do. It's allowed me to see what his strengths are and where he needs improvement.I also have to say I like the quality of paper this company uses. I've purchased other workbooks from this brand before and it holds up from heavy-handed erasures. Other workbooks use thin paper where it either tears easily or it's almost transparent.

I highly recommend this if the child has gaps
I highly recommend this if the child has gaps, because it starts at the very beginning, and you can fill them in while helping them build confidence in math. The explanations are clear and they mix it up as far as ways of teaching, to keep it interesting. This workbook has been a great help for building a bridge between addition and subtraction and multiplication and division

I knew this book was only 67 pages when purchased but
it seems so much less than that. Although the pages and workbook itself is right on key with what we need to learn and is colorful and keep the child engaged, I would have liked it to have seem more pages for more practice of math skills. Just as you learn one skill you flip the page and you are on a different problem solving skill. For a child who needs repetition, this can be annoying. I personally feel I should have bought two but then we would have been doing the same thing again. We have only had this book for a few weeks and is halfway through it. Soon, I will have to find something else for us and I don't like that. I do like this book but just wish there was more to it. They do have a 2nd grade level but I think we need another like this before we go there. Anyone who can recommend one, please do so.
