~~Interesting concept but not practical for me~~
I understand the concept of this 28 day Smoothie project and it is most interesting but it is just not practical for me to follow this plan.The layout of the book is user friendly in that it is divided into how to use it, tools of the trade, recipes, what your body needs by age, etc. It also has the cost per smoothie listed which is a positive for me. And, as the author states those that are homemade with leftovers are more reasonable to make. I would have liked to see the calories per smoothie listed.My issue is with obtaining the ingredients to use. I understand that one should stock their pantry with the basics but I am not sure living as far in the boonies as I do, that any local store would carry some of these items. (Not the fault of the author but an observation of mine).Am going to display my ignorance as I have never heard of some of these ingredients including maca, MCT oil, reishi, Shwagandaia, dragon fruit (pitaya) and Goji berries to name just a few. I am guessing that I would be ordering these on line.There is a small problem in the text around the 72% mark (in the Anxiety and Stress section). A portion of some words are omitted which leaves the reader wondering the rest of the word or words.This may be the solution for you and your family to assist in achieving your personal goals and solving health issues. Lots of information in this one for you to make the correct decision.Highly recommended.

Too many ingredient that are difficult to find
She is passionate about what she has to offer, which is wonderful. Downside is she uses many ingredients that are difficult to find for the average person.

“Don’t wash your produce until your ready to consume it because
it will begin to mould...” That bit of advice was worth the price of the book♥️Catherine McCord has spent the last 6 years gathering data from her website, “Smoothie Project”, conferring with expert dieticians and nutritionists, Weeliscious and working thru issues with her own family by way of using smoothies to deliver the best food possible. Smoothies are healthy, economical, beautiful and they taste great; the variety is endless.The recipes in the book are numerous. McCord has broken them down into category by flavor, function (health wise) and has given a limited sorting ability which is quite helpful. The basic recipes will be fairly easy for most to accomplish by purchasing the ingredients from a local supermarket. The enhanced version that includes “super boosts”: camu camu, ashwagandha, bee pollen, collagen peptides, mct oil...well, that’s probably gonna take some work for most folks.I made the “Crazy Healthy” smoothie and was happy that I could substitute apple for banana, which makes me unwell🤢It was really good and my next adventure will be the Berry Vanilla Shake and some version of Nice Cream...yay.My one negative with this book is that it’s missing basic nutritional information. Color me old school, but I still think that fat, fiber, cholesterol and calorie counts are important. Otherwise, this is a great addition to the “cookbook”/health book collection📚

So Flavorful and Beautiful with a few "hiccups"
I have tried several of the recipes and I am amazed by how delicious they are. Not only are they beautiful (not murky browns or dull green) but many are SO good for you. There are some recipes that I would tweak for texture and some I would for flavor. No biggie.The book is vibrant eye candy. Gorgeous colors and photos. Recipes are easy to follow. Ingredients are explained as to why they are used. I've learned so much. One thing that irks me is some of the page's typeface is SO small and hard to read, but not all pages are like this. Small white typeface against beautiful orange pages requires more lighting and I'm tempted to grab a magnifying glass. I CAN read it but it is frustrating at times. Maybe it's my vision. Maybe it's not. Again, NOT ALL pages are like this and it hasn't stopped me from loving this book. I would LOVE to know the calorie count on these recipes though. I've had to manually look this up, and create recipes to log my meals. I've had to make adjustments to say, what protein powder I use if I want to avoid too many carbs and too much sugar.This is a great tool to better health habits and your kids will love them, too. My 15 and 12-year-old sons are impressed by some of the smoothies I've made them drink.

Tried a few smoothies
Reading some of the reviews prior to purchasing the book, I was a little skeptical of how they would taste but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I've tried several so far, granted not the ones that require say, dragon fruit, but so many of the other ones are doable and most importantly, they taste good! The recipes are easy too. I recommend this book if you're trying to increase your fruit/greens intake.

Deserves 100 ⭐️
I can not say enough about this book. I have a husband, an 8 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son. We have been drinking smoothies everyday since I received this book on 2/27/20. This morning (midst Covid-19 pandemic), my son asked if he could take a break from smoothies and eat pancakes. My extremely picky daughter asked if she could have the Bright Green smoothie. Then my son changed his mind bc he didn’t want to miss out. Thank you, thank you, thank you! If we get sick, it won’t be for lack of me pumping vitamin c into our bodies. Note...I am plant based, went through the juicing phase, raw phase and everything else, but these smoothies are here to stay.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book, taught me so much about smoothies
As a super picky eater, I was struggling to get my daily dose of fruits and vegetables, but by educating myself on different ingredients and recipes, I significantly improved my diet and am now regularly consuming things I never imagined like spinach and cauliflower! Delicious recipes and great nutritional information, highly recommend.
