Q: I have just bought this and was excited about charging it up and using it. Ive charged it over night and it doesnt light up. I havent tried batteries

It only lights up if you keep it plugged in. It’s not a charger just a plug. I was fooled too

Q: What are the measurements of the base only please?

At the widest points, measured underneath, it measures 18cm wide x 16.5cm deep

Q: How wide is central mirror.

The reflective section is 15cm wide by 21cm long. Wife and daughter are very pleased with this product but the description was slightly wrong on the site as it had less LEDs (40 stated on box) and doesn't pivot 360 degrees (it pivots from vertical to horizontal as you'd expect) I don't know if they have updated the description since my feedback but Its a great product up to now (bought at xmas)

Q: Does this work when just charged up with the cable and no batteries?

You have to keep the it plugged in for the lights to work - the cable doesn't serve as a charger. But yes, it can work with just the cable plugged in and no batteries.
