Works great for a few months, then starts to produce a ashy smell. Considering this is supposed to last for 12 months under normal use, You're better off buying the original.

I think I may have not measured my old filter closely. The replacement was not as long as the old one.

I really love this hepa filter, you can tell it does a great job because the air is noticeably cleaner. Also, when you change the filter, it shows a lot of allergens and dander collected. My only complaint, and the reason I am providing a 4 rather than 5 star review, is that the filter needs to be changed a bit too often. This is actually a plus in many ways though, because it is SO effective, that it collects a massive amount of allergens and dust in a very short time. It is a great product.

Unlike my first two of these I purchased, this one seems to be lasting for a while. However, I have not been using it as much becuase its summer and I can't have my windows closed as often, so maybe that accounts for that.It is what it is, it came fast, and it seems to work as advertised.

Runs quiet even on a higher setting, the air quality indicator from blue for good, to red for bad, is extremely helpful. My husband is asthmatic and we use this machine in our bedroom at night. He is also allergic to our cats, the machine cleans out any dander trapped in our room. It has helped cut down the amount of medicine and nebulizer usage for him, which is great for his health. The white noise it generates helps me sleep well, too. Great product, love the backing of the American Asthma and Allegy Association.

I received the fellowes air purifier for Christmas and needed some more filters. I placed it in my bedroom and you can tell a real difference in the air quality. I have asthma and allergies and this has been a real help. Also, it keeps my room a little less dusty. I don't have to clean as often. Also, we have a beagle who sleeps on my bed and her hairs bother me, but not as much with my air purifier.
