Save your money
Waste of money. I've had great luck with the dozens of other SA series books I've purchased in the past. This one, however, fell way short of expectations. I expected some in depth information pertaining to the 1st gen Camaro. Instead, it was full of a bunch of generalized black and white photos of a restoration done on one car about 20 years ago. All it really did was give a general overview of tearing a car down, basic body work, and some tech. info on rebuilding a drivetrain. All of which was just a general overview, nothing really specific to Camaros. Five minutes with a Google search and you'd come up with more specific information than this book. They could have at least used a few different cars with different problems to highlight the specifics of restoring a 1st Gen Camaro instead of just using one they pulled out of the weeds in the 80's that was already in pretty good shape. With the popularity of these cars there are hundreds, if not thousands of them being restored at any given moment across the country. A couple phone calls and they could have had a metric ton of different problems being solved in this book. Instead, they chose the lazy route and wrote a book strictly to make book sales, and not really help anyone out. The potential for a great resource of a book was wasted here.

The book really needs to be twice as long to be useful. I think if you are going to write ...
In my opinion this book is just ok. It has a lot of the topics you would want but quickly skims on how to do each restoration. The book really needs to be twice as long to be useful. I think if you are going to write a book on how to build a car the right way then you need to write the book the right way also.I just bought a 68 convertible and it says nothing about convertibles. An example of this book goes something like this. If you want to take out the door glass it will say Step 1, take off door panel. Then goes on to step 2. ok, so how do I remove the door panel?(I do know how but that was an example of how it covers things)This book appears to be for people who already know all of this stuff of most of it. But at that point why do you need it?Says to rebuild the front end you can take the front clip off but doesn't go into how to do that.Anyway, save your money and youtube the things you are working on or try a different book.

Basic how too book.
This book has alot of the basic how to restore your camaro items (like the title says). You can't put it all in one book of course so this one books explains the major items. It's a good solid start for the weekend mechanic. It will also show you some pictures you have questions about. If your just starting to work on your camaro this is a good book. If your looking to buy a camaro and need some tips on what to look for this is a great book! I have too many years working one these to give it a 5 star rating though. I did enjoy a review and for the price I was satisfied.

Camaro Restoration Manual
This book is the fourth one I have purchased about restoring my 69 Camaro. I like the writer's style and there are plenty of pictures showing what is being described in the text. I've read the book three times, and each time I find more details than the previous read. Lots of good info about First Generation Camaros.

Excellent book by a "hands on" restorer
There are quite a few books of this type due to the popularity of the first gen Camarao. Most of them have a lot of historical info and specifications which is helpful in purchasing the right car but are light on actual down and dirty restoration details.THIS book has lots of detail on actually doing the restoration work written by a fellow who does it for a living. And it's geared toward building a nice driver car, not a museum piece, although it does have a TON of detail on restoring to a 100% production level if that's what is desired. And since it only deals with the three years of 67-69, all the content is geared toward just those cars. It's also current info (written in 2010) which is valuable in regard to parts suppliers and techniques. Many of the other books are ten or fifteen years old now. This book pretty much turned out to be EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Great resource.
Excellent resource for the restoration of the 1st generation Camaro. Provides valuable info and details on the car. The only thing I wished it had was more details on some of the restoration parts, I have to go online to get more info.
