Love this stuff
I have a 2018 Fiat Abarth Spider. It only has 11,000 miles on it. It looks like new inside and out, but the new car smell has faded. Ugh! I like a car that smells fresh and clean. I don't want floral, musky or kitchen fragrances in my vehicle. Seriously, there is nothing like a new car smell. I always wondered why no one bottle that smell. I found Chemical Guys New Car Smell Premium Spray and thought I would give it a try. Instant fan!!! I don't know what else to say. I sprayed it and thought wow, how cool is this. I forgot about about applying it, opened my car door to go to work the next morning and was immediately surrounded by that mesmerizing new car smell. I have mats over top the original car mats and that Is what I spray. I don't spray my cloth/leather seats. I can't give testimony if the product would leave any type of stain or spray marks on fabric. I found spraying the carpets works for me and provides a great smelling vehicle. A little goes a long way. I just purchased my second bottle and it will not be my last. Kudos to a great product!

Nice scent, just doesn’t quite smell like that “new car” smell.
I would probably mimic what others have said on this product. First, let me say that I am very meticulous with my vehicles. I always keep them extremely clean inside and out. I really don’t have a need for an air freshener. I use a leather cleaner and conditioning product and a lot of people will get in my ~4 year old vehicle and wonder how it still “smells new”. I don’t think it smells new, but what they are smelling is that conditioner. Anyway, I love the smell of a new car. If I found a product, even an air freshener product (which I otherwise don’t use) that would give me that, I’d be all over it. I will say this and get it out of the way right now… if you are in the same position as me, this product DOES NOT give your car a new car smell as it advertises. The smell is clean… somewhat reminiscent of a new plastic smell. New car smell is much more than new plastic, however. I mean, the smell isn’t bad. It’s just not new car. I like it. It’s growing on me. I just bought a new to me used vehicle. It didn’t smell bad inside, but I’ve been using this product religiously to try and get the “new car smell”. I am spraying it directly onto the carpets and floor mats as well as putting the AC on max and spraying under the dash to let it take it up into the vents. I find that you do need to refresh daily or every other day to keep the smell prominent. It doesn’t last as long as I’d expect. It also takes quite a number of sprays. I bought a 16oz bottle to try and it’s lasted me about 2 weeks. I did like it enough that I just bought the 20oz bottle and will continue to use the product and see how it does. Whether I continue it after that’s or not remains to be seen. So all in all, I like the product. The scent is good. It is not a new car scent. If that’s what you’re hoping for, you may be disappointed.

Close to new
Smells similar to new car but misses that new car smell slightly- I would still choose this over a foo foo smell

Short-Lived Bliss
My car hasn't had "new car" smell for several years, and the best substitute I could find was a questionable cleaning solution used by a local car wash that rapidly faded into an unpleasant odor. I was looking for something fairly long-lived that would offer a pleasant fragrance without a heavy floral or artificial tone. The Chemical Guys are one of the few companies on the market offering a liquid spray air freshener rather than a gummy gel or a felted tree of some kind, so I purchased this hoping for an alternative. Shipping and delivery were quick, and I soon was spritzing my car. The smell isn't the same as "new car," but it does have a solid, clean quality that falls somewhere between a new memory foam mattress topper and vinyl. A fainter undertone to my sensitive nose comes off almost woodsy, like when the wind turns in a pine forest. When undiluted, the smell can be a bit strong, but the strength wears off after 30 minutes to an hour. The mellow fragrance stays subtle and unobtrusive, doing its job to freshen up the car and remove traces of unwanted odors. I wish it stayed stronger because I enjoyed that first whiff and the transition. The bottle contains a generous amount of air freshening solution. Dilution (at 1:1 to 2:1 ratio of water to air freshener) can lengthen the life considerably, depending on how large your vehicle is and how saturated you want the scent. I intend to try a 2.5 or 3:1 ratio to see whether that modifies the scent much. Adding a cup to the carpet cleaner when washing the interior upholstery is also very effective for getting the scent. My main beef: it doesn't last that long. I feel the need to reapply in my car fairly often to maintain the beneficial effects, while your mileage may vary with a smaller vehicle. Do NOT apply this directly to upholstery or plastic without doing a spot test first. The fabric side of my door got a direct hit and I can still see the outline 48 hours later. Time to pull out the carpet cleaner and do some deep cleansing on the affected area. The Chemical Guys instruct owners to spritz in the air, preferably in a restricted, out of the way place. My cargo hatch and under the seats worked very well. The gentlemen at my usual oil change place also apply Febreeze and air freshener products like this directly to the cabin air filters, though I don't know whether this is recommended.

100% 1:1 the smell of new plastic
What others have said is true - this 100% smells like new plastic. The same smell as if you open a new DVD, or new electronics like a new Xbox or Playstation, or sometimes a new desk fan, or those electric air dusters, etc. It is spot on, like absolutely the same smell. While that is not entirely the same as a new car smell, obviously that is close and a similar scent, and also a component in what makes "new car smell" the unique scent it is. I am so impressed by this product, I'm going to try and mix a spray of this with other scents to see if I can truly nail the new car smell, but this will get you 80% there. What I do want to tell others reading this review is that I cannot express how exactly this smells like new plastic from the factory. Selling and old computer or something? After cleaning it up, seriously dab a bit of this in the corner, and you'd have no idea it wasn't new. I cannot stress enough how exactly this smells like new electronics/plastic that my wife who rolls her eyes at these things was shocked at how spot on it smelled. I am not someone who likes car scents or air fresheners at all, I like an absence of all smells altogether, normally. Being a fan of this company's products though and it not being expensive, I decided to give it a try after a full deep clean that included removing the carpets for washing etc which left the car with literally no smell at all. I think to truly achieve a real "new car smell" you'd probably want to combine this scent with maybe leather or other scents that I haven't tried, and/or the smell of cleaners like glass cleaner etc. This has certainly converted me from "no smell at all is better than any smell" to "Okay, maybe a little fantasy smell" is okay. I will repeat what others have also said: You DON'T need more than a single spray of this. It's strong, and too much will ruin the illusion. And since you only need a single spray, this is pretty close to a lifetime supply. Highly recommend for the skeptic to try; I think you'll be shocked that someone out there finally nailed the smell of something new, even if it's very specifically new plastic smell.

Great Product; needs much better bottle - A MIST NOZZLE!
I bought this combo scent and it’s great. I think my favorite will be the signature scent. I might gift the leather to my male friend and reserve the New car scent for whenever i detail. You might not pick up the scent the moment you spray - I didn’t and marked it a dud. It wasn’t until a few days later i stepped into the car and was like oh wait OMG. It’s subtle and smells fresh. Most of all not chemical smelling and it doesn’t trigger my allergies or my rather egregious asthma that seems to hate everything. That said, they really need better spray nozzles on the bottle. This is a direct, liquid spray. Where exactly do you expect me to point and spray a liquid inside my car? So far i was able to spray it into a towel and placed that under a back seat. I couldn’t imagine where I could point: not the roof, not the leather seats, not the dash or… basically not of you car about your car. And so note I have to reserve a small mist bottle to turn this into in order to use it. That sucks. So, this needs a mist nozzle. Then it’ll be perfect. I bet this bottle is why the rating is so low.
