What color is this? The picture shows two colors but there’s nowhere to choose which I want.

The light color. My daughter has used this product on her two horses for a couple years (& loves it!!) as do several others in our barn & I’ve never seen the dark color.

what do you apply it with? a paint brush or is it too thick for that?

I use a throw away 2” wide paintbrush. First i get a small tupperware type container. Put a small amount of hoof dressing in it. Cap up the rest. The point is to not contaminate the original container with what may be lingering in the crevasses of the hoof. If the weather is somewhat warm the brush is plenty stiff enough to pick up the dressing. May not be the way you’d treat a fine art brush but this is a throwaway, right. If it’s super cold, which we seldom are on FL, I just wait for another day. So far I like it, but I haven’t used it long enough to tell how it works.

This is more of a hardish cream, just scoop some out with your hand & rub on. Been using this since June, farrier's suggestion & it's made a huge diffence.
