It works, but it's fiddly and niggly
Functionally, this charging pad is OK, but it’s let down by a few design details. As far as charging a QI-enabled smartphone though, it does work fine. My Samsung Galaxy S7 charges off it with no complaints. It gets a bit warm, but that does seem to be standard with faster chargers. So what’s wrong with it? A few little niggly things. For example, when not in use, it’s got a bright red light on it to show you it’s not charging- unnecessary and inconvenient, especially if you were thinking of putting this in a bedroom or a screening room etc. Then, when you do put your phone onto it, the when looking face-on the phone itself obscures the blue light that tells you whether it’s charging OK or not, meaning you have to look around the phone to see if it’s working. And, since the charging pad is really quite narrow, if you put your phone a little bit off from the centre, it won’t charge properly, so you *do* need to check it. It’s a series of very minor inconveniences and first-world problems, sure, but it adds up.Also, the product description currently says that this device is “designed to get the fastest charge possible” from phones including a Samsung S7, but according to my S7, it’s not the fastest. In a test, I put my phone on a Belkin charging pad, which plugs directly into the mains without using USB, and my phone told it it would take 45 minutes until fully charged. I then moved my phone over to the Veho, left it for a minute, and then Android said that it would be 54 minutes until fully charged. Admittedly it’s not a huge difference, but what it told me is that you can buy faster QI chargers than this- unless it was my USB charger (a Trond giving 5V) that was the problem. So yes it works. But there are too many little niggles with it and frankly I think the design is just a little bit on the odd side, so I’m not completely convinced.

Makes charging my phone very quick and easy
This is actually the first time I've used a wireless charger, I have an iPhone X but I've just been charging it with the lightning cable before I received this because I wasn't sure if it was worth investing in a wireless charger. Well I'm happy to say I'm now converted! It's so much quicker and easier to put your phone on charge when you don't have to mess around with the cable, and it's easy to do one handed if you're in the middle of something because you just have to place the phone on the pad and away you go.The pad can lay flat or be propped up using the little stand depending on where you're using it. The stand is perfect for on a desk so you can see the phone screen & I tend to keep it laying flat on my bedside table for overnight charging. To be honest the one negative I had was that the flashing light when your phone is charging was pretty irritating when using it in the bedroom. I have trouble getting to sleep anyway and a flashing light was a huge distraction for me, it's not so bad when the phone has finished charging and it goes to a solid light but thats still quite bright. I tested it in the bedroom for several days and just couldn't get used to the lights so I now leave this on my desk and just use the cable overnight. Saves me having to move the charger between locations but I would have invested in a second pad if I'd found it better at night. It charges my phone really quickly though so that's a huge bonus and I love it for use during the day.

Veho Wireless charger
The pros of having a pad like this is that if you have a plug socket behind a bedside table for example, there's no faffing with the cable or stretching uncomfortably - it can stay fixed in one place and you just plonk your phone on it and there you are. It's compatible with the iPhone 8 onwards, Samsung Galaxy 7 onwards, and compatible wireless charge cases. It has a little light to indicate when it's charging, which I have to say is it's only downfall - if you have a phone smaller than the circle pad, the light is visible at the edge and can be annoying if you're trying to sleep in a dark room. I noticed this as i'm testing it with an iPhone 5 with a wireless charging case.I like this particular Veho one because you don't have to decide between a fixed upright or flat - the charging pad can be removed from the stand, and your phone can be vertical or horizontal on it, meaning you can watch something in bed, or FaceTime someone at the office, and it will nicely hold it in position for you.Best results come from plugging directly in to a wall socket, though it will also work with a PC USB port. Mine charged from 10% to full in about 2 hours. It's a robust made thing, with a non-slip slightly rubbery surface that means your phone doesn't slip about. Well designed base that's made to not tip over.

Versatile and neat
With this neat device you can wireless charge your phone battery from a standard 5W or use an optional 10W supply for a faster charge. This makes it more versatile than mains-only fast chargers or regular 5W chargers. The charger comes with just a (captive) USB-A cable so you'll have to buy your own power source if you don't have one already. You don't always need fast charging, so it's handy to have the choice. You can even stick the USB cable into your computer on your desk. I often do this, even though it's slower, and I like having my phone upright so I can see when I get an alert or message. You don't have to use it upright though. The charger comes in two parts – use the tiny circular pad by itself, flat on a table or desk, or attach it to the cute metal stand that has rubber feet and a rubber strip to protect your phone. The pad clings to the stand with magnets and 'jumps' to one of two positions – One charges your phone in portrait mode, the other in landscape. It works well with my iPhone X and unlike my other charger, the camera bump does not snag the pad. The cable is a bit fiddly to thread through the base though, and you do have to buy your own 10W power supply for faster charging, so I give this four stars.
