It works!! It improved my coffee taste by 90%
Works great. I use extremely fine coffee in my Aeropress XL and this filter gives me much better coffee than what I get with paper filters. Tastes much better, and I get none of the grounds in my cup. No issues with the seal, and as long as I remember to remove the bottom of the Aeropress pointing up its easy to remove and clean. Best decision I have made for my morning coffee!!

Still working after all these years! Highly recommend.
Love it! Easy peasy. Rinse off and reuse forever!

A Keeper
Does a good job of filtering out fine grounds in my brew. 73mm diameter for AeroPress XL fits perfectly atop the ground coffee in the filter basket of my 9-cup Godmorn Moka Pot. Brew time about the same and taste may even be a little smoother? Recommended

Excellent alternative to paper
Whether you're looking for a greener solution or simply a semi-permanent one... The Mesh is an excellent option. Caveat: this is the first and only steel filter I have used for the Aeropress. Therefore, I cannot compare this product to similar ones, but what I can do is offer an endorsement on its own merits. This filter is an extremely thin, extremely fine mesh, made of stainless steel which does not rust or tarnish (even if left in the Aeropress for a few days... Not that I recommend doing so). In my opinion, more tasting notes can traverse the metal than is possible with paper filters. It is sturdy, sleek, and long lasting; the low cost makes it a wise investment which will pay its value in three rounds of paper filters. Why 4 stars, not 5? The filter is a pretty tight fit in the Aeropress. It requires some careful strength. So if you have difficulty with hand strength (e.g. opening jars, arthritic hands, etc.) then this may not be the option for you. The Aeropress does indeed close, and the instructions even offer advice for 'stretching' your unit to fit better (by stacking paper filters sequentially); and the Aeropress seems to accommodate The Mesh better over time, but nonetheless it needs be noted. Additionally: if you brew the standard method (right-side-up on a cup), you may notice a bit extra drippage during the process which doesn't allow full steeping of all the water. However a small price to pay for the added flavor, I think. OR: if you use the inverted method, you may find that flipping the Aeropress threatens more spill than you are accustomed to. These things notwithstanding, I have not found any exceptional coffee silt in the cup. Lastly: when considering this product, you should also consider your typical clean up expectations. You can no longer dump it straight into the trash can, but you must open and pull off The Mesh first or else dump it into the sink. Thus the cleanup makes a slightly more hands-involved process, but nothing outrageous. (Note: I have never struggled to remove remaining grounds from The Mesh.) All in all, this product is an excellent option for Greenies and Misers, of which I happen to be both.

Not perfect, but it still deserves 5* for its durability
50 uses later and the mesh is still strong. No signs of sagging or stretching from the pressure of using the aeropress. If you expect it to filter the fine particles, you will be disappointed. It can get to within 85% of the filtering capabilities of a paper filter. The best quality of the filter is its reusability. If I get nitpicky, the thickness of the metal rim is thicker than a regular filter so you are not able to twist the filter holder on easily. I always do a reverse press so I don’t have to worry about the liquid seeping through the filter during brewing.

Original Mesh Filter Was Too Thick...Service and Replacement was extremely Helpful, Fair and Efficient.
*** I originally left only 1 star so people who are not satisfied with the fit of the mesh filter will know that they will get great service in rectifying the problem. Advertised as a perfect fit for the 'Aeropress. It was too thick and didn't come close to fitting. All the advice on how to make it fit involved altering the original structure of the Aeropress itself. I contacted Aeropress at: [email protected] and they informed me "Some (about 5%) have a really tight locking system and won't fit our filter." However they said that they redesigned a filter to make it thinner to fit the tighter locking systems and offered to send me two filters to replace my one filter. I informed them that I was now living overseas and the said they would incur the extra shipping charge to send the filter. I received my replacement filter, PLUS a free extra one to compensate for my troubles. It fits perfectly and gives me the desired results of a more intensely flavored coffee. A few things impressed me with this company: 1) They were willing to redesign and manufacture a new filter, although it would apply to only 5% of their units. I would think that they would increase their quality control and assure that all their Aeropresses would conform to a single standard. Thus, once the new filter was sent out to the few customers who needed them, they would be scrapped. A cost that Aeropress was willing to incur to satisfy their customers. 2)From their prompt and fair service, it appears that Aeropress is concerned about their customers' satisfaction after they have purchased their product. 3) Finally, something I have always been satisfied with; the resulting coffee using the Aeropress with the paper filters is the best homemade coffee I have ever experienced drinking. Only in a few coffee shops have I had better coffee and at $3 (2 Euros) a cup, they weren't that much better. Especially considering that they were probably using a machine costing upwards of $6,000. So, all I need to do while traveling is find good coffee beans after 3-5 days after being roasted, pure water and a good vessel to boil the water. I like drinking my coffee black and believe that the oils and the slight sediment the screen will let through makes my coffee taste that much satisfying to my taste.

Long lasting, worth every penny.
I have had this same stainless-steel filter for my AeroPress which gets plenty of use since 2021, hasn't broke and shas no staining on it, sometimes I forget to wash it and most of the times when I do wash, it's just a simple rinse off with water. Would recommend for anyone getting an AeroPress, you won't regret it, what you will regret is getting paper filters

Good thought, a bit of a pain to use compared to paper filters.
Good in principle. Reusable and saves the need for paper filters. However, and it's a big, however, it's recommended that you use a "reverse" method - essentially you need to place the unit upside down to fill it and then flip it. Otherwise the water just runs through the mesh WAY too quickly. The issue is that this method reduces its capacity and can be a bit messy. I'll use it in a pinch, but paper is the way to go.

Great filter that's environemental friendly!
I love my Aeropress. I wake up every morning and one of the things I look forward to the most is my morning coffee brewing process. From measuring the beans and using a hand grinder to pouring the water over the grinds, it's just a great process to get me started in the morning. The Aeropress paper filters are good but I didn't enjoy throwing away a piece of paper every time I had to brew a cup of coffee. Once the filters that came with my Aeropress ran out, I did some research and bought this Altura mesh premium filter that is infinitely reusable. I didn't have to be concerned about throwing a piece of paper out every time anymore. The Altura filter functions exactly the same as the paper filters. If you've used an Aeropress, substituting the Altura reusable mesh filter is a no-brainer. I actually find the taste of the coffee to be better because it isn't being filtered through paper (which I have no knowledge of the production process of) and the coffee oils are not trapped in the paper. The Altura mesh filter allows the coffee oils to pass through, resulting in a more flavourful cup of coffee (to me). The thing I don't like about french press coffee systems is that the micro-grounds get through the filter and you end up with some grit in your cup and the grinds in the press more resemble a thick sludge when you're done. With the Altura mesh filter, you don't get any of the micro-ground escaping into your cup and what you're left with after pressing the coffee through the Aeropress is a condense puck of coffee grounds that is easily disposable and requires minimal cleaning. Overall, if you enjoy a great-tasting cup of coffee that minimizes the environmental impact (used coffee grounds can be used in your garden or you can use it as a body scrub during your showers), you should definitely consider purchasing this Altura mesh premium filter for your Aeropress.

Perfekt
