So far so good. I've recorded 4 tapes from off the internet. The system volume sounds good at 12-15 with the YouTube video sound low. Also, if you're recording make sure you do it using only the batteries for power, otherwise the recording will detect and record the sound of the USB powering the device - it sounds like a humming buzz. I recommend also making sure that your cassette is neatly played, and rewound fully before playing. Always check your cassettes before you put them in, to make sure that through the playing process the film hasn't become a bit loose. If it has, merely tighten it using the little holes in the center to spin the track and tighten it slightly before putting it into the cassette player. Also, the side facing you through the little window is the side being recorded. If you are playing a tape and want to rewind it, hit the stop button first before hitting the rewind button. Jumping from button to button can make the tape film a bit loose. Remember this is a cassette player not an Mp3 player. The radio does pick up some stations, but I didn't focus on it. When you record and playback, you will always hear a little "white noise" that is part of the nostalgia. These are mechanical devices, not computer systems, you can hear, see, and feel them working. Overall so far I am delighted with this little dude, I love the nostalgic sound it makes on the recordings - the tiny little occasional distortion (very slight) reminds me Lo-fi - and adds to the charm. I made tapes of a few Markiplier game videos, and they sound great! The sound of his voice through that kind of radio sound is pretty cool to me. I've enjoyed this little cassette player a lot! I hope it keeps performing this good for years to come!

My husband loves it. And my kids do too. It played well and is portable. I like that it has two different ways to charge it.

Plays nicely. I don't mind the mono audio but the battery dies really fast if you use the fast-forward or rewind. My copy does not record, but that's not what I bought it for. Having an actual antenna makes the radio signal way better. Other cassette players/radios I've had have a built in antenna and you have to hold it in a specific place to get a good signal, but this is works great! Easy to use and looks pretty good too!

Small enough to fit anywhere. I do have to change the batteries frequently but I listen to it regularly. I'm recommending it for anyone.

Well, I’ve used this thing daily for about two weeks and already the headphone output is broken and the radio isn’t functioning properly. What a piece of junk. Don’t waste your money. Extremely disappointed given I bought a case specifically for this player. Original review: Both the radio and cassette player function wonderfully. I appreciate the antenna, which was the main reason I purchased this model. It makes it so that if I am out in the middle of nowhere, I can just extend the antenna and I don’t have to deal with choppy, unlistenable radio. The audio comes out very crisp, both when using headphones or playing through the speaker.

I purchased this item to use as I did my daily walking. I have a hearing problem, so I use a wireless Bernafon, made in Poland, sold by Cosco, which sends the sound from the cassette player through the Bernafon wirelessly to my hearing aids. This cassette player would not work. This is a new up to date cassette player made in China. It would not send sound through the ear phone plug-in. I tried several old ear phones and several never used new ear phones and these would not work. I do not know why. Compatibility problems. Possible. This Walkman has good DSP AM-FM reception that locks on to the stations with good clear reception, and also it plays and records from the radio (in mono). It has a microphone input for use with a microphone or a attenuated mono cable for to plug into another radio receiver like a short wave portable radio to record your favorite shows and transmissions on SW. The good thing about this cassette recorder is that when the tape is done recording, it has auto stop. The FM reception comes from the telescoping rod antenna when does not need to depend on a headphone cord like other walkmans which means you can improve reception by clipping a wire antenna or dipole antenna. It has a built in battery that you can recharge by yourself using USB port instead of using 2 AA batteries all of the time. It's a great walkman for mono recordings, hopefully one day they will come out with one with the SW bands and it's in stereo. I have not recorded or played cassette tapes in a long time, and now since i have this walkman I am able to do so right now.
