5 year unbiased review / Echo cs-590
5 year review: my echo CS:590 is still going strong. I have been clearing fence line on our property, and bucking the larger logs for firewood. Currently clearing large honey locust trees which are the devil. I broke the chain tensioner on the saw, and ordered a replacement online (easy fix). The CS-590 always starts for me on the 3rd pull. I place the saw choke on, pull once or twice till I hear the saw hit (audible noise that the saw fires in the combustion chamber), turn choke off, pull again, and saw fires up. I normally donโt use the decompression button. Also, I always use ethanol free gas and drain the saw when storing for several months. I read another reviewer who had issues with the echo warranty due to purchasing this saw off Amazon; I never had to use the warranty, but if that is true, I would not recommend buying this saw off Amazon. While up in the brush I accidentally ran the saw over with my fourwheeler and didnโt manage to damage it. I take care of my saw, but I also work the ever living crap out of it! Again, I love this SAW. Iโll post some more picks this week of work Iโve been doing with the saw. 2 year review; Best bang for your buck in my opinion, I have had this saw for almost 2 years now. I am not a professional logger by any means, however I have cut my fair share of trees, used all the big name saws. I have cut close to 20 chords of wood with this saw sense ownership. Using original oil filter, gas filter, air filter, spark plug, and have had absolutely no issues. Starts on 2nd or 3rd pull every time, and does not bog at all. I will purchase the tune up kit this year. I do use compressed air in order to blow the saw and air filter out after every use. Also, I use extreme care when filling fuel and oil reservoirs on the saw in order to prevent clogging filters. Translucent fuel tank, so you can see the fuel level with out taking cap off. I wish the bar oil reservoir also had a way to view the level, however I always check the bar oil every time I refill on fuel.( I had to list at least one thing that could be improved on the saw). Saw has little vibration and lots of power combined with the timberline chain shaperner, have not found anything this saw wonโt chew through like butter. Egernomics are also great, saw feels good in my hands and weight is balanced out. Saw started right out the box on third pull without any carb adjustment (minor carb adjustment made after initial break in). I keep Oregon chains on the saw, 2 of which I rotate on a normal basis. Registered saw through the echo warranty website after purchase. The little things mean a lot, having a saw thatโs correctly adjusted right out of the box and still going strong after two years is amazing. You can not go wrong with purchasing the cs-590 echo chainsaw. If any issues are encountered in the future, I will update the review. My next purchase will be the echo Cs-355T. Ive cut oak, hickory, elm, walnut, and sycamore with this saw.

ECHO cs 590 Beast
This echo 20 inch cs 590 is a beast, very well-made, but for longevity it comes from the factory extremely leaned out, and if NOT,addressed by increasing the mixture, adjusting screw on the high side and the low side of the carburetor)you will burn a hole in the top of your piston and 40- 1 good quality ; :2cycle oil is a must ; a 50 to 1 mixture will shorten the life of your chainsaw)

Great chainsaw
This was the right size chainsaw for the job. I lost 36 trees during the January freeze in TN. I was able to cut up the trees and branches into fire wood without problems.

New Echo Chainsaw - would not start!!!!
Brand new chainsaw that would not start from the day we took it out of the box. At the store now to see if it is covered by warranty work. We paid $455 for chainsaw and another $75.00 deposit to see if it is covered by warranty. Will never buy another ECHO! This seller did not stand behind the product and it was not covered under warranty.

Phenomenal saw
This used to be the old brand for a company I work for. Unfortunately echo wanted to appeal to a larger market by selling there products online and via major distributors. A smart choice upon there part. The quality is up to par with the most popular brand. The price is less. What's not to like?I developed 3 acres of a 5 acre property using to echos. They still perform flawlessly after 400 plus trees. Some big, some med, and quite a few small. But in all regards, they stood the test of time as well as the test of all the weather iowa could throw at them. Echo is a great company with excellent products.

Excellent saw that's easy to use with great power.
I was looking for a heavy duty saw after owning a light duty 16-inch Husqvarna which has also been a great saw. I also own an older 16-inch McCulloch that would never restart after it warmed up. After reading the excellent reviews, I bought this saw three weeks ago and have not been disappointed. The Husky is easier to start but that was not a surprise since it's a smaller saw. However, once the chain on the Husky becomes dull which is at about 1.5 cords (cut to length pieces), it becomes difficult to cut without a fresh chain. The Echo, on the other hand, is a heavy duty saw with power to cut through 4-cords of wood with the same chain without a very noticeable drop in performance. After the 4-cords, I was able to cut through a 24-inch stump with the same chain and no issues. I would definitely buy this saw again given the option!

A beast!
A tame beast! I have a CS-370 and a CS-400 and this makes them both seem underpowered (they're not). I process between 4-5 cords of hardwood a year to heat my house. I used the 590 to cut through some 12-16" ash logs and it was like cutting butter. It took less than half the time it usually does to do the job, and I wish I would have upgraded years ago. Sure, it's heavier (not by much), but the reduction in time spent on the job easily makes up for that. When I started using Echos 30-some years ago, they were somewhat newer on the market; I worked at a dealership that sold and serviced chainsaws. They outperformed, outlasted and outsold every other brand. In all the years since, the brand has never disappointed me. Note: Some buyers have said the saw would not start. Mine was hard-starting out of the box, and after following all the instructions (choke, decompression, yank 5 times, etc.), it finally kicked over after I held the throttle wide open while pulling the starter. I won't tell you how I did that, as it's a method of starting a saw that's not exactly safe if you're not careful or don't know what you're doing. But after I did that, it started on the first or second pull every single time. I will not give stars for longevity or durability yet, but I expect it to be fine - my other Echos have lasted me well more than 10 years.

Excellent Chainsaw for the Value
I bought this saw for multiple uses: We typically cut and split at least 9 cords of firewood each year to heat our home and buildings. From time to time, I do a limited amount of select timber cutting and logging. I also have a large older radial sawmill on our farm to occasionally saw our own lumber and custom sawing for other nearby farms, neighbors, and woodworkers. Granted we don't cut wood everyday, nevertheless I have to have a dependable saw for all that. We have had a variety of low-end and professional chainsaws to come and go over the years, and I was thinking about buying a professional grade saw. But after shopping around, this saw is the by far the best bang I have ever picked up for the buck--it is a beast of a cutting machine for the cost. After seeing that I could buy 2 of these saws for the price of 1 professional grade saw, I decided why not just try it. I took it out of the box, assembled it, filled it up, started it per the directions, and immediately sunk it in a 30" very rough oak log I had sat aside to block up for firewood. It's speed and torque were crazy and extremely impressive! I am excited to see what's it like once I get it broken in well. I give it 3 stars on durability as I don't think the cheap bar cover and plastic handle will withstand much of the normal wear and tear a saw receives on our place--but I might be surprised.
