The extension you need but maybe not the one you deserve
Man this thing is *long*! Works well. Just don't get it too close to your power supply or it can pick up interference resulting in purple hues/lines in your video. For reference, mine has already picked up many accidental folds, scrapes, and nicks yet it is still working perfectly. Had it installed on a 3D printer for about two months now and it's still going strong despite the constant motion of the cable (camera is mounted to the printer's heated bed which moves back and forth) and lots of abuse. The only issue I had is if I ran the cable around the side of my printer where the power supply lives I would get occasional purple hues/lines in images/video. I later figured out it's just the noise from that PSU and has nothing to do with the quality of the cable. Remember folks: The longer the wire the more likely it is to pick up interference! So this extra long cable will need a bit of careful placement and possibly shielding if running next to noisy electronics.

This camera cable works well and brings a lot of capability to the RPi.A word of caution - the ends of the cable are not cut square. I was seating them in the connectors by pushing them all the way in until they were seated solid to the connector header, and the camera was giving intermittent results - dark picture, lines, pixelation. Because the ends weren't square, the circuits were touching multiple contacts. I pulled the cable out, made sure they were straight in and out of the connectors, clamped the connectors closed, and now it works reliably.

Super long and works great
This product works exactly like I needed it to. Please note that the ribbon cable causes EMI interference with itself if you have a lot of slack and try to roll it up. When this happens you have to reboot your pi to get the camera to reconnect. I use this on a 3d printer enclosure monitor and printed cable runners that help hold the cable in an "S" curve. Now I have no issues at all and it works 24/7

Works, but the image quality suffers greatly. For some reason it resulted in my camera saving an image to the Pi but that was all black. The video that displays while it is taking the image is full of noise and flickers. Tried trouble shooting a bunch and it just seems to be the cable.

Extra length when you need it. Quality cable and thin design.
i purchased this ribbon cable to use with a pi camera to monitor my 3D printer. The cable turned out to be longer than I needed, but no stars docked for that. The cable works well. It's a straightforward installation, once you figure out how the terminal clips work. Only one side has shiny terminals so it's easy to know which way to install it. Very clever design. If you want extra length for a Pi camera i would highly recommend this cable.

2 meters really stretches the limit.
I purchased this for connecting an RPIcam v2 to my Raspberry Pi 3. After the initial connection I was not getting any video. After a short bit of troubleshooting I realized that by wrapping the excess length around itself to keep things tidy it was interfering with itself. With the cable extended the video signal was fine. I'd recommend buying this length only if absolutely necessary, and only if you'll be able to install it in an area free of electrical interference.

Very good very long
I'm using this on my Raspberry Pi 3 for my Octopi setups (used for controlling 3D printers remotely). Its so LONG - not a bad thing I'm just stunned that the signal works as well as it does at these lengths. This is much better than I expected so no complaints.

don't be mating and demating flexes like this very many times!
Does what it says on the tin.The flex seems of good quality (as a manufacturing engineer, I specified and purchased a few).If only the gods of Raspberry Pi had chosen a different connector and cable; one must treat these cables and their connectors gently. But then it would most likely be thicker and pricier.
