I purchased the Biophix B-3 Nicotinamide 500 mg 180 Caps because I read that there was a study done on it to help prevent those spots that you have to get frozen off of your face. I also started to take them because I read that it is supposed to help get rid of age spots. It has an outer and inner safety seal and a desiccant packet inside. My husband and I have only been taking it for about a month so I can't tell yet if it is effective. It doesn't have a taste or smell and neither one of us have noticed any upset stomach or heartburn after taking it. The capsule isn't hard to swallow and I thought it was a good value for what I paid, since you get 180. We both take one capsule in the morning and one with our evening meal.

This exact brand and dosage of nicotinamide was recommended to me by my dermatologist as a protection against forming precancerous spots. I also had a second dermatologist support the idea that taking nicotinamide could be a benefit, based on conducted studies. So it COULD work great for you. However I have had to stop taking it on the advice of my primary care physician. I have always had low blood pressure -- not dangerously low, but "good" low. However I have also throughout my life had isolated episodes of getting dizziness or "seeing stars" if I stood up too quickly. These were isolated and never really presented a problem to me. I began to experience this dizziness and disorientation ALL THE TIME. It hugely and negatively impacted my ability to function on a daily basis. Every time I got up for sitting, I had to grab something to balance myself and fight the dizziness and nausea I felt. After extensive blood work and meetings with my primary care physician found nothing clearly wrong, I mentioned that I had begun to take this B3 supplement about a month before my symptoms become very pronounced. I hadn't thought to mention it before because I lumped it into a "daily vitamin" category, and I am not taking any other medications. I have now stopped and have seen my symptoms slowly and steadily improve -- my primary care physician said t could take 2 weeks for it to be fully flushed from my system. Please don't forget to mention this supplement to your doctors if you are taking it. And please be aware that if you have borderline low blood pressure, this could push you down into a zone where you begin to feel the effects of hypotension. If you feel lightheaded or dizzy after you start taking it, this might be the cause. Also, I have that one should work you way up to 100-200 mg per da, and that ideally it should be taken in 3-4 doses throughout the day. I was simply popping one 200 mg a day. You may want to consider a low dose capsule to give you the ability to fine tune your dosage if you experience negative side effects.

HAD an emergency surgery due of a life threatening infection. I was on strong iv antibiotics during my 3 weeks recovering at the hospital. Been taking it for 3 weeks now and I'm very thankful that my surgery is healing now. ONLY DOWNSIDE IS all THE SIDE EFFECTS.BUT THATS Totally Fine for me because there is hope and I'm still alive knowing it fights the infection and my surgery is healing way better now and completely no pain compared before . Thank you God . . . There is hope. So don't ever give up no matter what. Stay strong because I feel your pain and it's hard to explain it, to others that they don't believe that it can be life threatening if you don't have a strong discipline to keep yourself seriously clean all the time bcuz once some bacteria triggers you. Your immune system will go down to the serious level. It's sound weird to other people because they don't understand. YOU MUST have discipline and change your lifestyle to prevent to be re infected and it can be life threatning for some and going back to the hospital because it's considered as life threatening emergency once you get infected again.

I received this on Jan 4th and have only been taking for 2 weeks. My skin is amazing! I have been pairing with the Skin-Daily Niacin Serum. My pores went from the size of an apartment to back down to non-existent. I am 53 years old and have never looked my age, but the last year or so, I have been noticing signs of aging. This has helped immensely! I have also noticed a difference in the pigmentation of my age spots and sun damage on my chest. I had one place on my collar bone that was kind of scaring me and since I have been taking this it has dried up and sloughed off.
