This will be my new staple!
Way, way better than expected! I have never really made my own tvp ”meat” before. I usually buy a tiny expensive pack (already hydrated and seasoned) as a treat now and then to cook something I used to love before I was vegan. This was delicious! I soaked them in water for 20 minutes. Then I squeezed the water out and pan fried them with some sweet and smoky seasoning. This is a great cost-effective way to have a protein with your meal if you’re tired of beans and nuts. I’m going to make a “roast beef” sandwich with these next.

Very nice, just don't over-cook
I cooked up the bag of "beef" slices in two batches. I haven't found a recipe that says how long to cook them, so I've been experimenting. The first batch I rehydrated for 30 minutes and then cooked for two and a half minutes in the microwave at full power with some of the water that I had rehydrated the slices in. They were tough as could be.So I experimented, taking the cooked slices and cooking them at half power for 10 minutes and in a barbecue sauce, hoping that, like beef from a cow, they would break down after low temp slow cooking. But they were just as tough after that. So I refrigerated them, and after they were chilled, sliced them very thin against the grain, and reheated them. They were acceptable. The second batch was rehydrated for 30 minutes in vegetable stock and then frozen. Once frozen, I sliced them against the grain and cooked them for 2 minutes on full power in the microwave. They came out tender! It would be so very helpful if cooking times and temps and recipes were available on the web, and or the back of the bag. Other than that, I think this product is just wonderful. Definitely has the mouth-feel of meat and, with the right amount of cooking, the tenderness of a round steak. Perfectly useful for recipes that don't require the meat to be heated for a long time.

Didn’t like
The taste was too elaborate, like I was eating some gum or something. Protein was good, took my hunger away .
