Can I score 1/4" strips with this tool?

I've found these running pliers to work with much thinner strips than regular running pliers. I've split items thinner than 1/4.

How thick can the glass be?

Depends on the quality of your initial cut wheel score, but I have used them with glass thickness of 2mm up to about 6mm. 1/4” was harder to get a great cut.

where can i get the extra bar and plate for silberschnitt pliers 700.0 ?

I’ve just been buying a extra package or two on Amazon,,, they also sell similar at a farm and fleet too , there more reasonable on Amazon tho

Simply FABULOUS!

Well. Now I get what everyone raves about. I've been doing glass for a few years, and some cuts give me anxiety. Inside curves in particular. I cannot tell you how many pieces of curved glass I have broken, just trying for that inside curve. Well, last night I gave these Silberschnitt pliers a go and they work exactly as described. Game Changer for Stained Glass Art

The Silberschnitt Glass Cut Running Pliers BO 700 are a welcome addition for anyone who cuts glass.PROS:- the top rubber tip is adjustable and easy to rotate- works on odd angles were traditional (fixed) running pliers can't reach- makes breaking the glass easy- well made metal and rubber tips- reasonably priced for the quality of the running plierCONS:- can't use on very small/thin width piece of glass - your grozers would be used insteadI would highly recommend these running pliers to anyone who works/cuts with stained glass. Big thumbs up.

Great breakers!

Wonderful glass breaking tool!!! Takes less hand pressure than my old breakers, easier on my arthritis, so I can work longer in my studio. Love how the glass gripping jaws rotate so I can more easily break complex curves. Thanks!

A Decent Copy at Half the Cost

The real pliers from Germany cost $80, but for half the price these copies do a decent job. Finish isn't as nice as the ones in my local glass shop, and if the pads don' live up to expectation then I'll replace with genuine pads. The manufacturer did a decent job of capturing the small details of the genuine pliers but again, there are some telltale signs in the depth of lettering, grind, angles and finish that are give aways. Highly recommend.
