I bought this as a lightweight alternative to a sleeping bag for a 12 day Philmont hike. Upon delivery my initial impression was that it was high quality, very light, and was nicely contained in a stuff sack that was provided. With regard to packability, weight, and packability, I give it 5 stars. However, temps dropped into the 40s on multiple nights of our trek. I used a Sea to Summit Extreme Reactor sleeping bag liner as my base layer, wore mid-weight thermal base layers, thick hiking socks, a thermal beanie, and then used the Rumpl down outdoor blanket on top of it all. Got very, very cold on the nights when temps dropped into the 40s. If you're using a sleeping bag liner with the Rumpl down liner, wearing thermal base layers, and temps stay in the mid/high 50s or above, it probably would have been okay. But I wouldn't buy this if your using all of that and your overnight temps drop anywhere in the 40s. Without the thermals & sleeping bag liner, the Rumpl wouldn't have been enough if temps dropped in the low 60s or below. Good product, but just don't expect it perform on camping/hiking trips when used by itself if temps drop much below 60 degrees or so. Will probably work great for fall football games.

great blanket! very warm and durable. I used it the first week I got it on a camping trip and it did a wonderful job as expected. temps were in the mid 40's and the blanket kept plenty warm over nighty

Perfect for traveling. Super cozy, easy to pack and unpack from the stuff sack it comes with. Worth the money.

I had hoped this blanket would be a great summer camping alternative to a sleeping bag. It is not. We were still cold despite being two people in a tent on WA coast. Put your $350 towards a sleeping bag that is lighter in weight and more effective for warm. This could be comfortable as a blanket to use at a bonfire (although I don't know how stray sparks would impact the material) or blanket for INSIDE a house or cabin.

Perfect for sleeping outdoors. It keeps you warm! Unfortunately, due to the material - it’s not “cozy” but it gets the job done. Would definitely recommend!
